Hello this is Matt slick from the match looked like podcast right defend the Christian faith and lay out our foundation of the truth of God's word. Your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting in just a few seconds.

Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing The Truth Podcast Network.

This is the Truth Network can you be a Christian and a politician the same time. Is that an oxymoron cellulite will reserve with faith and politics. And yes, absolutely. Hope it's not appropriate for politics, but this guy has been a pastor and he's a congressman.

He is Mark Walker and he's a longtime friend of mine, Mark – many thanks for serving our country.

Really, there's this is one of the most turbulent time in history serve the country and it really is stupid and I appreciate the good work of ministry that you're doing in so many different areas but I I am convinced that God doesn't call us anywhere that were exempt from being like Jesus Christ, and some could make the case that Washington DC is quite a mission field in itself is not as loud because were Addario in North Carolina at Wednesday in the word and we even have congressman come just to hear the word of God you can get up even you talking T-shirt. One thing about Scripture like everyone else was doing but it's just getting it with much a minute God and getting the word together in a congressman and you're welcome back anytime. But thanks for coming today. It was my privilege in the way he broke down the word so culturally relevant right now that we get outside of our comfort zone and get out and tell the world the people that God is intersecting our lives each and every day always stopped long enough to share Jesus with them. I hope that we are so many prejudices so much of this whole black lives matter thing that's been going on a lot and there's a lot of people a lot of my black friends are my friends are in a lot of pain. There's a lot of stuff I was me with a black Methodist minister in Charlotte yesterday and he was talking about just the stuff we will go through in their still prejudice and but the gospel cars Mark Walker even as a political guy who you pass laws, but even you are not your head. There's something about Jesus that brings together black and white and red and yellow, black and white their precious in his sight historically geared your states capital Washington DC has never let on these issues. It's always been God's people rising up to make a difference in the political realm has always followed God's church and God's people to do the right thing to make a law you want to change your heart to what your challenge to the church to be the church during this time of tribulation with racial tensions with all the virus junk and all the conspiracies and all the everyone's afraid there's a lot of fear what house it is a politician who can pass laws and you can make restrictions or you can tighten restrictions but Dr. Mark Walker what your challenge. Put your pastor's hat on and tell us what you challenge as a believer is a politician for Christians out there. I think the best thing is just to follow Jesus's example with the woman at the well is being compassionate still being truthful leaving from a place of love is very easy to look at data statistics and we want to be judgmental, but the pain and the fear for the you want to say it's reality or not it exists among our different communities. So how do we leave in love and still be able to tell the truth that only comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. God use you to bring some healing in the black community image and immutable things. One of the first keynoters to talk about that. Will we have been blessed God's favor. We were the only person on this are some of the other Republicans of the out to give the keynote address at the north, legislative Black Caucus. The other Republicans speak a historically black college, university in March.

Thank you Lord.

We were the only Republican in the entire US house of representatives with the president's award from the United Negro College fund that's God's work and God's people. If you have a gospel heart and will grieve over that tells everyone who you are little bit of your background, how you end up being competent for folks that haven't met you.

It's a fascinating story involves a pastor for 16 years and just begin the growth of a burden about our country where we were headed. This was no longer about Republican, Democrat, this is about evil at its core, the enemy working in their halls of Congress are our places or schools and I wanted to go to Congress and hopefully lead from a position that led from our partner relationship with Christ and to be able to trick you do more than make an argument, but to make a difference. Anybody can make an argument, but will walk in the Lord.

That's what we can see real tangible adult results making a difference what your challenge that it's a big election year in a course to talk. We don't get in to vote this way about that way, but there are some clear issues that just are absolutely thoroughly biblical when it comes to a child's right to live and not be aborted in and you know that sorting out how would you challenge Christians to think objectively, to before you just say the word about this therapy will listing the show right now who are they maybe stage Democrats and many diehard Republicans. But what you challenge in terms of thinking vividly when he comes your vote. One of the things I think we have to do is labors a separate personality versus the policy and the biggest contrast I can say right now is there's a war going on for human life. We even have a governor who vetoed a bill that would allow life support babies that survived a botched abortion. We've identified 1500 adults that survived abortion and for people to hold the position that those children, those baby should be allowed to die is too big of a leak. That's why believe that even though our current president can be quite boisterous. It has quite the personality.

I think we have to set some of that aside a look at the policy differences specifically when it comes to God's creation. Your standard is or is the borderline accurate thing in into very tragically, Barack Obama. When he was the state Sen. of Illinois had two chances to allow abating survived a botched abortion to just be caught a little bit likely to die anyway. But instead of just throwing it away in a trashcan or leaving on a metal no slab in the room to let let the nurse hold illegal Barack Obama twice voted against that that's on record.

I interviewed substantially was there as a nurse with a hospital because she was so brokenhearted about that and now Roy Cooper, the governor of North Carolina won't even let me now is that how is that a radical thing to let a little baby. What reminiscent of herbalism that's like killing our little children in America. I will what what you say. I'm happy I just as this, for anybody it really is and this is going back to her racial division conversations were the moments I had a congressman sitting across the table at the House oversight sitting with Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood and asked one question, so I have one question. Does it bother you that there are more African-American babies aborted in New York than actually born now does it.

You that's the kind of place that we are for the radical left driven my enemy.

Sometimes is trying to attack the very life we only have seven countries in the world have more aggressive abortion policies that we do now. It's a tragic get to do something about your saying don't look at don't know go and look at how nice Tromp or Biden or Camilla Harris are don't know. Look at how cute they are there families look exactly what they believe and how that aligns with what doctors you have a voted to stewardship and Christians are given operative Wernick Arena Republican.

No words what we have we got cast our vote. So if you just don't sit.

I mean, I heard some like 67% of Christians even vote last like that that is correct… I'm not sit here advocating that that there president Tromp is a is a Christian leader in our communities and I've had a chance to sit in the Oval Office ensure the very gospel of Jesus Christ the president to break down the atonement and talk about things that are important to us to continue to do that but at the end of the day, even someone that you may not agree with this force, the approach take a second look at look at the policies of the far left that literally want abortion on demand.

That's just one contract with the brick at religious liberty to talk about many other issues in same-sex marriage and all that and really loving the poor doesn't mean you split the family you know you incentivize families to stay together and not in the whole welfare state, but thank you talk we pray for you quickly wrap up just a quick visit with Carson Mark Walker once in a while we bump into a famous politician were able to get them on our national show to talk to Walker what your quick word to everyone just prayed that to anybody that's that's out there making decisions would be able to keep close to the Lord because it is culture in this environment. It's very easy to get distracted.

We need discernment we need godly leaders to rise up and continue to move forward. This is the Truth Network
