Real sportswear right here returns everyone it touches into raging psychotic call sports some thoughts on the draw with Josh will healing Charlotte 49ers head football coach now joining us. You might know him from the bowl bound Charlotte 49ers of last year you might know him from club lit where he's shirtless and having a lot of fun. You might know them from this show where he's been a great delight for us all throughout football season, we were hoping to catch up with you at about this time to talk about spring practice and all of that. But of course now that we're in very strange times of the way out, but it things have changed and will get to how everybody's reacting to that in just a little bit but I remember reading the story David Hale wrote about you in December and your program and you spoke a little bit about branding and trying to put Charlotte 49ers football on the mat when you win games, people will notice when you're in a bit of a beggar better conference and goblet USA is a good football conference.

People were going to take note when you play in bowl games before to take note, there's gonna be a big audience for that before the sports world shut down. Essentially, what are some tangible ways you notice some of your branding efforts paying off.

Well I would recruiting. Probably the biggest way with walking your high school with the brand that was pretty much not recognizable a lot of people – where you're from and some were shocked even here yet a football program to now.

People heard about you, especially local locally before followed what you and you got more congratulation before you even said anything that you did what you from them and why do you look 12 years old so I needed it fundraising recruiting you know whether you know any media outlet. It's growing. I would not where we want to be. We are much more recognizable and I think people are taking notice which in ways quickly got back to you. You have got a little expectations and see if you can create winning program consistently versus just having a good your when you're fostering a winning culture but also one your billing to be fun and to be different. How much of that was intentionally part of what you wanted to do before actually happened. I guess a better way to to ask the question would be how much of that is you just being yourself versus you when you're being interviewed by the folks at Charlotte and hiring a staff intentionally choosing people and selling what this brand, but we also what the big question that I get whenever we have changes that interview people really I don't get it – get it when they have on a long conversation. What is this guy really like the club lit up the shirt off you know doing something crazy or abnormal or in a lot of ways what people call stupid and I like how much of this is for show and how much of it is really an NR staff laughed like you haven't.

That's him.

You know that was that was me with the bodies bit that I'm fortunate enough to work with every day that was legal counsel ballplayer be in high school and not always wanted that I crave. That is a player and a lot of the ways that our culture is the way I wanted to become to the player and the type of environment culture. I wanted to be a part of this player so I may not back our staff.

You know every week.

We have a lot of fun with each other. Part of it that the toughest part about all of this for me that I don't get to experiment staff every day. That's where I'm going is what I love about the profession and if you take that away saying no, we do have a lot of fun.

I think club lit is a way where people have been able to see how much fun we have but if you came to practice it would look the same way and I think if you don't enjoy the other 353 days of the year then it doesn't make that the journey a lot of fun so we we have far. We definitely enjoyed every step of the way it Charlotte 49ers head football coach will healing is on Twitter@coach_heel so his coaches respond to the question is, is this what he's always like what you like behind the scenes with all you don't even see half of it. Give me an example of something that we haven't seen in club lit of speaks to some of the crazy unit craziness, and fun. You're talking about our staff meeting there are pretty interesting and there's deftly been times where the shirtless staff meeting, you know, I think that there different ways to keep it lighthearted, especially in times where you know you got four games in a row and you're trying to see if there's any light at the end of the tunnel or is this going to work this year and I think those are the times, much like right now where you got it be yourself and in make sure that you don't change as times change or the situation dictates how you responded and in bringing positivity and fun to life again. While we all got into it and it doesn't have to be some militant dictatorship in a week. We enjoy even that even the tough times in our staff meetings right now on our are a lot of fun and so I've actually added another staff meeting during the week, maybe it is much to help me survive is it is anything but you know every day amount.

You get to go work with her best friend, everyday people you care about being around. We have a lot of fun. Give me the time your lighthearted humor got you out of the doghouse with your wife something a very funny, you know, I mean I think you like it really shirt off again in the locker room and out the that they live at all. The other way they give you the time you tried to be funny and you ended up making it worse. I think that's pretty much every day I am not I'm not really sure how excited my wife is to be coordinate with me right now. She doesn't think my jokes are quite as funny as a staff that that we start abatement and she's probably at more more days than not, where she doesn't think my ears quite as much, quite as funny as others. How did you propose to your wife.

We were during the season.

This was 2011 11 1111 we had a Friday night often. We went to Atlanta. I propose that the canoe restaurant in Atlanta Georgia and had all of our friends that the restaurant walked in and all of her friends were there. My brother was hiding in the bushes, taking pictures and the pictures were awful. So we did not hire him as our photographer but yet now we are in Atlanta. Our first date was in 1997 we got married in 2012 she stuck with the put up with this for long. It Charlotte head football coach will healing with test, have you had a chance to talk with new Panthers coach Matt rule yeah I have actually was talking to the other day about a software that they've used for for tackling, but he's been all from my iPhone here in New York before he took the guy with the Panthers and we set up a trip my wife and I really go to Waco and ghosted conflict.

Yet, his wife and and I was absolutely blown away by what he did at Baylor.

What he did at Temple.

From a cultural perspective. I think he gets it. These done an exceptional job and he worries band and so we were playing like a teachers cut our trip and did more than I mean you know you're driving instead of going all the way to Waco Texas so nice to have that resource very close to home. Based on his college track record, which he noted that what you think the identity of this team is going to look like a talked about it with other guys that an offense of line coach backgrounded someone is as well-rounded as he is going to bring a certain identity to Pro but not even just that also would not come from college to pro how do you think that looks in the NFL. I think there's a couple things awarded or knocked out or stated gets rid of you probably know a little bit more about the program.

Pro gave that he does. You know, I think that there are a lot of ways where you smart enough to understand he can't change that coach to fit different level.

Click may be how he handles the day-to-day operation Have to be a little different.

I think that you're seeing now personnel. This is going to be extremely important to the build organization that he wanted to go the consistency that he bought though I was interesting for me. I learned a lot with a couple orders games last year and was fortunate enough to sit close enough to where you could see how some of the coaches were coaching in the professional basketball league in EDA. Some of the guys are you know that the players run the show. Half the players are at the scores table during the timeout not paying any attention to what's going on and if you watch guy like Rick Popovich and those guys don't lose eye contact with. I mean it is. It is every body is into it.

The entire game the benches into it whether the client or not, you know, I think different coaches have different ways of doing things and and I think Matt's going to be himself, but is also going to make sure from a front office perspective that the guys that are on the team matches philosophy and very similar to no probably Bella checking out how he forms a roster click you got a pickup your heart and head coach to be the GM of the program into tech to run the organization with an inmate and even help develop the players aridity. I think Matt is great with the relationship. She's very, very well spoken. He also understands some of the new technology that he can use to extend guys careers you know some of the GPS system, things like that.

I think you'll fill to get some food some really good players here, but I don't think you'll change two years, which is what made them successful. Got the opportunity of the first Basque coach. I hope things are going well for you, your family, I know you had, what, when was your second child born 14 month old, you around about a month after I got the job well.

Congratulations on the successful year.

We haven't spoken since the end of last season and we hope to be catching up and talking about things firing up and things are turning back to normal, very soon.

Thanks for giving us an escape from all the other stuff and we hope to be having fun sometime soon. Let's do it.

You got it.

That's will healing Charlotte head football coach spending a little bit of time with DOS B.just stepped into studio and the Jordan documentary is getting set to come out okay. I mentioned the schema.it's on HBO about the FBI's investigation of the college basketball. I wish I saw all the red flags. There the last few months about how this investigation maybe was. It is awesome as we thought it was going to be, or maybe not as encompassing as we thought it was going to be the Jordan.it comes out at a perfect time for entertainment purposes, but what about for Jordan's legacy. No will discuss that would be.
