Just amazed the content amazed that the relative material and how it relates to today. Even though this book was first the first draft was done in 1982 and I think the most latest revisions in 2015 with a couple more chapters but absolutely fantastic book of folks if you're out there looking for some to move into with your men's group and small group, we recommend that you consider this book.

It has a workbook to go along with the reader and you will not be disappointed because we know we all push certain products on the podcast but this one is a diamond in the rough. It really is it. It is available on Amazon not in the push mems on either but it's easy to get to his Edwin Cole maximize manhood, and as many of the books in the series, which we haven't gone through yet but absolutely wonderful book so will this week.

We want talk it Chapter 11 out of his book is called the video daddy so appropriately put four men today who look at the boom tube as we used to call he had his AmeriCorps item in quite a bit of time spent in front of the beauty stays in the gets a bit much. This is the ideal of daddy that's being portrayed through Hollywood and society which is really disgusting picture of the way God not the way God intended man to be pretrade virtue you think of your back where kids you the man in the house. Man on TV was like Daniel Boone exactly who the father, the Waltons of immense men, hard-working, loving yet very very strong in the character very strong and how it was through the they were made fun of.

They weren't made to be appear dumb dumb down, if you will, and the ridiculous and ignorant all the things we see in today's TV and you know I'm glad you brought that up Roy because TV was more wholesome back then you know and and even even some of the sitcom's that I think about like make room for daddy with the Danny Thomason and some of those sitcom's you know they always how I cannot remember that sure Gary and Sherry. I've been getting sick budget but you know it. It had a message at after each and every episode you know that maybe one of the children were going through order wife is going through. Even he was going through winning that there was always a strong message about parenting or about love or about unity.

It was always being pretrade and so even some of the westerns you like the little houses on the prairie and or Little House on the Prairie and put them in more than one house, but you know those always had messages you know that the daughters were going through things. The dad will come along and give really good sound advice as to what you know.

She shouldn't be doing or what she should be doing or how she got into a certain situation like that, but in the other. Somehow that was model to those always a partnership in the family. For every nationality but but there are men out there who are this way, we are not saying the bulk of them are because the bulk of man do want to work, they won't do want to supply note for their family and be that provided that God called them to be. Those full-scale characters, too numerous to mention have distorted the image of husbands and fathers in its perversion and image of manhood is stamped on the minds of our youth that results in the resentment, derision, anarchy and mockery. This is the quote unquote model father or head of the house. They have no respect for that role if you will, and it brings in the collateral damage of bid comes back into the home and their behavior potentially in the responses to the parents. Specifically, their father, exactly. And you know he he talks about virtuous nation and we have long pass being a virtuous nation because of what we see today on the TV screen and the big screen and you know video on my phone. Everything is so convenient and in the end it's all about dollars and and the Hollywood says where we are simply giving the public what they want, but in the in their feeding a society because this society.

Eventually, if they continue to have themselves bombarded with these images and images play a strong thing because you know we talked about. Once you see an image you know of of a man and and a woman you know it in an intercourse way that image burns into the mind of that young man or that young woman and what they begin to do eventually is again like we discussed on previous shows they want to act out.

So what we have to do as men of God and men who are standing on the front line is we have to talk about man.

How do you get back and fight these images level starts first with control right will of the taken control responsibility for what's being viewed in your home and you know we talked about slow fade in the past you know 30 years ago, things were soon to be today from homosexuality piece to the to the relational piece, the intimacy piece of people out of wedlock. The exposure of more skin if you will, that should be on any TV.

All those things that are not biblical values not biblical standards are being led into the household via the TV which then becomes basically none. People become numb to follow comes them to get used to seeing it is this whole slow fade thing right will just continues to move across the chart.

It also you wake up one day in your sin stuff and in the hearing stuff it in loud things in your home and had no idea that you would ever do in school and Petra children and their future and their relationships and their growth and the respected lack of respect for you and your wife so is truly truly important that you control the content of what's coming in for young children and what they comes the Mongols and this came up several weeks ago, in a conversation, you know what were trying allow children to decide at such a young age is absolutely bizarre when you look at it in the scheme of things. The social decisions that were allowed to be made. Children that are below the age of 10. Lovaza 15.

We can't do can't drive a car legally to the 16 right they can't vote to 18 you can't have a beer to 21 and they can't they can't get the Kindle and army to 18. All these things they can't do till they're over 18 years old and will allow things to go on early in the life of the make decisions about so do we think that they can really control the content is coming in and filter it and process it properly at such a young age know because what what's happening is again they are viewing these images. These images now are being carried over to and ultimately will affect the decisions about when they're old enough to get a car if they're old enough to join the Army and so all of these this ideology that they have brought forward at that young age will now be carried over and it will start to affect them when they get to that 16 year age or the order 18 to 21.

So now they're going out in there saying okay now that I'm old enough to do some of these things I'm going to go out and do it in mom and dad can't say anything about because if I'm doing away from home.

Then we see these things happening today and society and saying it's okay. It's healthy for you to go out and start engaging in some of these things because it's normal. It doesn't line up with biblical standards exactly in God's word.

How is it to be change, getting in that word like we talked about aligning ourselves with stronger believers in Christ letting letting God pour into us what we cannot pour into ourselves because if we point our sales or even the poor is the unhealthy things that society is given right would likely nearly as strong to overcome the things that he needs us to overcome exactly and to reject as part of what's coming at us either. What God had blessed you two to meditate on and in your life being transformed and then God is blessing you to demonstrate that by laying on of hands on people and and God blessed them to recover speaking the word of God and and things will start changing because this is how we as men of God know that God has called to us through the demonstration of the spirit. It is the spirit.

It's just like when when God bless Paul and Silas in the man. The man was healed and they say brothers why are you looking on us as though we did something to make this manhole but no, it wasn't us and it was the spirit of God, and Jesus Christ whom you crucified, you put on the cross. He is the one who raised him up so they they understood. I don't want to have any crooked thoughts I don't want to have any crooked pass before me, but I want God to lay straight the path I will reject all selfishness and stay away from every evil, I'm getting chills right now I'm just getting shields will not tolerate anyone who slanders his neighbors. While I will not permit conceit and pride. I will make the godly of the land. My heroes and invite them to my home only those who are truly good shall enter shall be my service but I will not allow those who deceive in line to stay in my house don't even bring them in. This is what the psalmist the Sandman. If you know that a person is toxic to your family, the word of God right here. We just read it.
