This is the Truth Network welcome to man brought to you by T8 W CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they are devoted to breaking down the walls of race, age, challenging them to take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white welcome back to mantle great Jones I am the why God the second half of the show here and I will Hardy the black guy you would be the first. Oh no more position you put me on the spot.

If the a will is good to see you again and likewise these are very special guest with us today. You guys my apartment past the plastic inclines from Christ Western church in Greensboro, North Carolina, and he and I were having lunch on Sunday and just last Sunday, just haven't felt this would be a great opportunity to chat and get back on the program with us.

So what things won't talk about is you refer to Tom about defunding the police department defunding government defunding all different things right in the middle of all the protesting pandemic and so much going on. But what happens when the church gets the fund while I mean that.

And that's significant because I think what it says is it says a whole lot and surrounded around the fear of cold you know and and what's happening out there and and looking at stories every day on the news and people are dying. The first responders being exhausted and I think it's just a plethora of things that's happening, you know, with respect to why the defunding is occurring and you know there's several several hundred churches, Roy, that have shut down because people are not coming and they are not getting anymore. Yeah, I think the first thing that comes to mind is when you think defunding your thinking financially. Finances are low funding would just people in general. That's right in the servant knows showing up and do what people do in the church to pick the churches in the building of the church's people and when the people don't show it on right now, just in person people showing up that our numbers are not what they used to be. That's out right now I am talking about. Even the ones that are on the fringe of your because of co-vendor stay at home were seen less activity of less response and held it for a little while going into late summer June July August now were just seen. I think probably nationwide for just seen a real decrease in in in people in energy in funding and finances all the way around the churches, entering a strange.

I don't like them ever seen. That's good point can we talk about defunding like Jim mentioned that it's people side which is the resource piece the volunteers you have people set are supposed to be there. Commit to be in there and then they wake up on Sunday mornings that we are just watching online and realize that that failure to show impacts the worship impacts the ministry to show up. So what we're doing here it. This shows about talking to men and things and wrote many to take so we want to make sure that were clear together as brothers in Christ. The three of us are here talking to you as our brothers across the needle ageless and encourage your husbands and boyfriends and sons to do the same that we can't backpedal in the midst of the storm. You can take precautions where the facemask do the sorts things. Nephew got if you are a high risk individual. We certainly understand that were not saying be careless or say be very cautious if you serve the God who created everything you got to trust him to take care of all these things when stepping out and you would been eight months and this pandemic is not no signs of slowing down, at least in the near future. The very near future, so we may be prepared to react properly and I think this is what I called action to you as men and women that listen today is that very thing and don't defund the church by your absence.

Don't defund the church by your lack of tithing and so forth and so on. The talk about what that does and how that impacts the community as well as the body of Christ. Absolutely, Roy, and the whole ideal. I think when it comes to the church and functioning in the church and this fear factor. You know that we have we have to understand that God is always in control. You know I hear people say all the time God is still on the throne. Well, that gives the impression that he left and then he came back with switch he never left, so he's always been there.

So when I hear people say God is still on the promise like oh did he haven't.

Where he was absent and the answer of course is no God is always been there and we as God's people. I think we need to sound that message out loud and clear.

You know, not only to the men but to all of the listeners who listen to the podcasts that he will take care of you, but put the mask on, wash their hands and social distance. I believe if you do those things that when we talk about another show we talked about those things, like warnings, they know, and it is just like when when Moses came to Pharaoh and he said let my people go, and that was the morning let him go. Or else and when he didn't take keep the or else came right you know, so we was playing warning play warning plague morning and they kept coming. And so I think our warning is to do what we can do by social distancing. When the mass washing hands. Those type of things angry as he was talking I was wanting to go down the path of warning be in the pandemic good and I would even maybe expound on that may depend is part of the warning will to write about it because it measures but I will challenge the listeners and us.

Here it is to get some of the dialogue going that we've talked early on this thing started. This is a wake-up call.

That is, it truly is a wake-up call and if if the church doesn't wake up, then what hope is there for the unchurched and with the conversation rolling about defunding the church by absenteeism, lack of tithing. All those things instead of growing stronger were getting weaker as a church body right now and I think the bond studies you talk about sin as much is 40 to 60% of the people will return to church. You know that were attending before the pandemic was that as a pastor cannot scatter as a serving full-time pastor that's got a really concern. There were definitely seeing it.

Even now there is. There are a lot of people that were communicating well in the early part of this and other missing all totally missing, yet they don't going silent going on.

Writer right and I feel like those are people that may have been a little bit on the friends before COBIT mapping that were either either board live with. Were they were just not feeling it, or whatever the church is gotta make it happen and we go Nicole. And what home more of us and it's very easy to say well it's just a component of my life and I'm doing okay without it.

And so it's good. It's sad, but at the same time. It's our greatest hour and we should be should be rising up absolutely are the hope in and in a world that's full of anxiety of fear, depression of negativity and everything else we got the answer in the it's interesting because really the last of the last for five months, or message is been a real positive message right now is not really the time of impeachment. Helen and demons and fire and brimstone, and always think like that right now trying to get get key people in a positive were okay so yeah there's a little bit of fear's words as gold and the loan is not really. I guess I should call her fear were in a question.

And but at the same time, the shepherds are saying come on folks got work to do and don't don't leave now don't go complacent.

Don't go don't stay in this funk. Yet we need you more than we ever made it. It's almost as if were allowing media and and I guess we are not as if we are allowing media is really driving behavior of the church and this goes back to what we talked about before. Write the church's post-impact world, not the world impact the church think this a prime example were in a very negative way the world is impacting the church because the media and all the things were hearing and scaring people here and you know it would get back to the earlier conversation to be cautious to take the right measures to protect yourself and others. But as long as you're healthy and you feeling good and if you want to go get tested now you get the test almost immediate response test five minutes 10 minutes to get check to make sure not carried to protect people around you that by all means do that.

If all checks clearly reengage folks with. Gotta reengage and you and I want to speak briefly Roy to the people who might say, well, why should I have to do that is God's supernatural and and he can just heal and take this thing away without God can do whatever he needs to do and he will do whatever he wants to do. The question is, is we have to do what we have to do to engage ourselves and and and challenge ourselves to get out there and say I'm going to keep the warning of wearing the mask, washing hands, social distancing, doing whatever I need to do because I saw store yesterday.

It was really really sad. It was a 1413 or 14-year-old boy. I was on the national news channel and he had committed suicide. As a result of COBIT and not being able to interact with with with his friend Sir Jan and his dad all his and in fact his in the video sure is out there on some of the social media platforms, but he he said I was so close to recognizing where he was headed, but he said I wasn't there from the time that he made that move and went off the edge, but he said I was so close because I saw changes in name.

He said, but I didn't. I didn't react soon enough who are designed to be isolated when you got created Adam and Eve for communion and fellowship right with with each other with him and that that by design that were supposed to be fellowship and with others to so to be locked down in the house, especially for a young person who doesn't is never dealt with the crisis, and most adults have never dealt with this crisis of this magnitude is outside their say any of us, with the exception maybe some very old folks may lived earlier on in the centuries but this is a time when a very unique time and we need to be supporting you to goes back to the earlier commentary that we can't isolate ourselves and just dive into the into home and walk away from church and all the things that we know are our strength givers right are strict suppliers exactly there's a question we can we can get what you guys talk about with me will witness that we talk about defunding and when we break, just what else to talk about defunding nonetheless. But 60 seconds a number it will pick it up after the break.

The numbers all the money in the different things it church looks different. What does across the country of but might I guess my question will be just because the church is different, and fill out people worshiping at home are doing in a Facebook line you to hope does the church still have the ability to impact.

Even though there out there operating different and safe and so got some ideas will pick that up after break something that's a great question. Yes, we are ready for break with this woman call out our sponsor form chiropractor, Dr. Jeffrey, can you hear about in this moment. Remember, affordable chiropractic on the W. Lexington Ave. in High Point Hall 336-885-1987. Welcome back to man talk radio and we're here with plastic incline and Roy Jones Junior, the white guy right before the break, you know we were talking about things because the church look differently.

What kind of impact that we can have you know as pastors in with the congregation. What things can we do differently in order to still impact the people and you know and and keep that up because I think as we were in the break and you were talking camp. I was thinking about one thing, God is doing is God is purging the church with this cold oh yes he knows that he and and and people like you.

You were describing.

You know earlier before we came on the air. Individuals who were already on the fence and now they they just simply use COBIT now as the reason.] What exactly so. So they weren't all there anyway and and people you know who you are you are out there. You listening. Don't be one of those individuals don't allow the enemy to buffet you in such a way as to keep you emailed depressed and keep you in an anxiety state so pastor can talk about some things that you are doing with the fellowship and are in reference to bringing bookkeeping and energy energy. It was interesting. We talk about the purging but also another word that just popped in my head is a scattering of which is a bad thing. Remember what happened after they stoned Stephen in acts chapter 6 and the great persecute persecution broke out against the church and says, and the Saints were scattered and the people were scattered that just send them out to do work plan the water brought yeah you know, Philip wound up down in the city of Samaria. This leading the whole place.

So yeah, it doesn't necessarily mean just because people were out and that all the energy doesn't hinder on this one corporate meeting on Sunday. Does that mean the church is in trouble.

We got it yet. Look at what the church is what it always was supposed to be one of the things we've we've done really since since the summer was what if every month. We had a project that involved the community of outside of us, about us when we start giving ourselves away.

And so every month we've we've done a project we took on the Baptist children's home in the Thomasville that I got all supplies for borings. We just spent several weeks gathering and taking down we had a great time doing live our shoe boxes packed up her Samaritans purse really did you deliver tomorrow. Dr. Charlotte Rory started our 50 meals, preparing her 50 Thanksgiving meals getting the food and for that will be taking place this month we forgot project on schedule for coats and scarves and goals and stuff for next month in December and asked is what does bring a lot of new energy and the people you cited but yet the groups probably half as far as the corporate worship goes interesting enough, we have probably eight times that there watching online litter tuning into Facebook live in these other things but but the energy still there within the church, but the energy isn't just a vibrant worship service and you know it's it's it's first given ourselves when we can do that safe you. We can do these projects and have people compact boxes and prepare meals better 15 feet apart with a mask to do it in a safe way home so it's you know what I want to honor that system to but I love it when there's a verse in Scripture Proverbs it says when you refresh others because Proverbs 1125, the second person is when you are fresh others. What you two will be refreshed and one of the best ways we can we can show visit churches give ourselves a way that's that's work together.

We have to do it joyfully at the world watching us too and we we can't be, you know these these blown down negative. We have to be joyful in her shoulder. I hope when people see our congregation in late they see that we are meeting, but we are doing it on a safe, rational site, but I love that we still have energy not only our service but the service Afros with LaRocca church out from Winston Greensburg to have a service right after us in our sanctuary flags are flying front doors are open. Everybody's in every other P would last gone, but it's a beautiful thing so it doesn't have to be dying is the way we conserve. We can show up in that way, if you listen to the program you're not currently in the church, we encourage you to go find a place to worship because it's important to engage in. Maybe you've been one of these people that have been sitting on the fence and not been active in you so well tomorrow.

Do it tomorrow folks we talked about this many times. Tomorrow may never come in if it doesn't come the new year standing before the father. What is going to be your view and you know Roy, this is the time for strong to bear the infirmities of the week and not to please ourselves this unite as the word of God tells us, but I'm I'm reminded of Luke chapter 8 verses 22 through 25 when Jesus said hey guys, let's get in this boat and go to the other side and he will. Eight and then he went down and took a nap and and when he took the nap and then all the sudden you know the storm came and I believe this is what I believe. I believe that storm came to test the faith of the individual disciples who with them because what Jesus said when I went out all master master. We are going to perish, so he went up and was the first thing he said oh ye of little faith. That's what he said oh ye of little faith, and so he became others like you guys should be able to take care of this. You know you how long have you been walking for me so he can heat get up out of the boat and rebuked the wind and then they look at him stylishly and in a saying that last verse 20 liver is like this is a man among the yeah because you control in the way and the and the rain so so he must be the son of God that we just talked about that this past week in the Bible study and sit in on Sunday night was a different account of that but in another book of the got on the Gospels that is you know if you think about at that point they did not recognize Jesus as their Savior. If you think about illustration.

Then all of a sudden they're in the middle of the storm and they really think the going to die so I thought I took and that was the first illustration I am your Savior, even though they had little faith what he is trying to teach them was to have faith but there was the first indication I am your Savior and say there's a there's a lot that you can pull from that this particular version applied to your life that you and and and one is you know hey guys I'm down here, take a nap you should be able to handle this. You know, and so Jesus is.

He wanted them just like he wants us today to exercise our faith in man put the put your faith in the practice. You know, you come to worship on Sunday. You praise the Lord.

Raise your hands. We say hallelujah we pray for each other but then in a time of crisis. Where are you where. Where is your faith and and put that faith in the practice get up off that couch put the faith that there's all kinds of ways you can do things safely as pastor can was just alluding to, you know, and what they're doing was so things can still be done and be done in a socially distant manner without ensuring that we put ourselves in jeopardy when we are in close quarters and things like that God is able and he's able to see one of the things we want to talk about as well as part of this defunding the churches is how can you make a difference if you're not in the church and how to make a difference in the church right so is worth rapping this thing up here if you are outside the church, and you will make a difference in your will to volunteer and go get engaged, only local facilities hey Kim client has a multi-multiracial church, multi-multicountry of it so you have a different currently has everything that you know we are African-American we are Asian goals and everything he welcomes everybody as most churches do sell churches to sing some tender one stay the way they are, but that's okay. Got got a places for us to go to the Kim is deafly one of those buildings, we just want to invite your part as Christ, Wesley, and that was in Southold Road was the number 2400 S. Whatever it is that you're going through.

You should be able to praise God in the storm. Well, that was great.

She picked out for some fatherly dislike for this time together this pray for all the folks in listing and those not missing this week water protective father keep everybody safe, and through this pandemic will give them hope Kim to the storm for your son's precious name come to give great pleasure having you with us in the folks.
