CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they are devoted to breaking down the walls of race and accommodation challenging and to take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white guy, this is Roy Jones on the white guy and I will Hardy the black guy.

We so appreciate you doing so for well with recognize we know is an extremely difficult time. Everyone right now. This is not just that within our area, but globally people going through very difficult time. We've asked Dr. P. Kunkel Joyce is my pastor personally. But what a great man of God and have him show with us today to talk about hope because when you get locked up and four walls are limited to your freedoms.

You can't do things normally do. Sometimes you lose sight that there is hope there is the son is the end of the tunnel.

Just keep your focus on that and so will let Dr. Kunkel chair was little bit today and we also get to see. Seems like forever since we don't does each other on daytime anymore. It scoots like I like dancing forever. I know it's this virtual meeting and in all these other things you know we haven't go to because of this I COBIT 19, it does put different perspective on things and when people are to have cabin fever and things like that you know when I want to get out.

They want to be able to do some things and so they have a tendency I think the focus more on those things rather than the hope that Christ had instilled in us and I'm talking about born-again believers because it it's so easy. I think that the transition from the way we were working to looking at the situation to say is there any hope that this thing is only like it's never going to work but I noticed it's going to hand, and so we we got Dr. Pete on the line today to talk about hope and no Roy, when you when you were talking about what we are talk about and you sent me that semi that make messaging and link to FCC ministries and I had an opportunity to listen to Dr. Pete's message on hope and it was very inspiring.

So, Dr. Pete, we appreciate you being here on today to talk about hope you all share with you all. One other thing. The hopelessness that a gallant Christian and it was not something that I you know Jesus even though it was going to cross Calgary but not because he knew his mission newest goal that there was eternity in the balance and I think sometimes we forget about the game that is not just this life that it sorry Jesus teaches so much about not worry and in line upon in that so many times I see people turn in work rather than outward toward God and trusting and taking hold and allowing him to do great thing.

I believe there's going to be a great revival in our country. I honestly believe that as I look at people you know they probably taken our we have myself and I think everyone taken church for granted always going to be very thick know there you go when you wanted to if you want to go to sporting that church be there when you get back want to do.

Church be there and people of being a whole different side of the church and how necessary it is and how to play such major role in many Christians live and I was talking to a group of ladies from our church difficult of ministry in a bid making math math for people all over.

They just been 150 to Stewart Virginia to a food pantry where most of the people are very very or can't afford a mask and a gentleman came and he provided a goblets map for all those people so that they can be safe and what he did was generated oh into the live yell. Jesus said if got to take care of the Lilly field and he can take care of the birds. Can't he take care you and I think when our faith is really good at it really kind of shows we are sad where were at my relationship with Christ. My my prayer every single ball right is that they going through this experience, I heard a long time ago that God never wastes and he hasn't wasted this on. He wanted to teach us some very valuable lesson that in reality we can't do life without we have no hope.

Outside of there was a gentleman feeding people to truck for five days a week and out gentleman drove up and ready go to church and he said I don't and I said, would you mind if I ask you why you don't go to church and he said well tell you the truth when I was 34 years on this Probably late 70s.

He said I nearly drowned and I didn't have any fear of dying and therefore I believe in God and I don't need that snatcher something with any sexual I said you know there's a difference between jumping off a root at 70 story and saying I'm fine I'm fine I'm fine, but there comes a place where it began statement and that's true of your life. You know a lot of people say I'm not afraid of death, but they are when they finally get to it especially if they're not in crime, you know, for me, my hope is in Christ and Christ alone and if I die I go to heaven and you know if all that work fallacy and I did go to heaven. I had a wonderful life that I know I am assured that he has prepared a place for me and he ate their baked golf and I trust him and that you have to ask yourself if you're wrong, what are you willing to pay for you and not following the call of Christ, the one thing that he really asked you and that's why have I know of 19 command. I'm saddened all the people who lost their lives through this all the people who been ill but if we are followers of Jesus we believe in their hope in him.

Then we will not be defeated, and we will never see the peak will be pictures from now until you you know what was interesting past.

When you talk about the guy and he said I nearly drown seek but he didn't drown that. That's the thing you didn't drown so your hope should be in the one who saved you from being drown because he couldn't very well drown. But he didn't so you know it is just like being pregnant and almost being pregnant will you know that it was the second doesn't exist you are you are well. What's funny about that ironic is that that very thing happened to me but I was following Christ. No wasn't not have a wake-up call. Nova 2005. It came just a few years before the 2003 and I got called in the riptide and I was with togetherness about three or 4 inches tall, and I was in.

We were side-by-side and I got pulled in. He didn't even realize I was in trouble.

I was on my last breath close exec which not supposed to do was try to swim in a never studied about never been taught about those fight against the current, and I was going under in the Lord. Please save me a semester got three kids to get raised in the smells about the time in the next wave came over top of me broke hard enough and I gave it all ahead to get my feet almost on the sand underneath the water was able to come and walk out of it.

So I'm on the other side of the county know that the God did save me and I went back about assured with 100 people. The no less than that over the next few months about God save me through the journey so that's that. So many people think they can save you and he just he spoke and you know he still church anything there about every night we had a great conversation will share some other thing I don't know that it will convert that I wanted him to know that you cannot pay yourself. You have saved yourself from drowning, but you will not save yourself from what eternity will bring you to be with God or you be without most horrifying hopeless situation like go into eternity without God and you know every every time that a person rejects Christ there rolling the dice you know on their life right literally there. There were only dicing thing about it is, is there's much more to this life than just what we experience, and now I recall in the message. Past P2 said hope is outside of yourself and then you you gave Romans 55 now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us and you know that resonated with me in a mighty way because we are not people who do not have hope we we are not hopeless. We are hopeful in knowing that one day when we depart this life was going to be in the presence of the Lord. Amen.

And I think that's that's so rear assurance to the ones who know God that you know as you stated that we should learn from this and when we learn from this will come out on the other side not only victorious but our faith and hope and trust in God should be strengthened because of what we experience and so and and I'm with you on that revival. I believe when we come out of this that you know people will start to see, especially those who may have been close to family members who may not have made it. You know through this this virus so having that assurance and having that hope in Jesus Christ.

It says a lot doesn't and just what pastor said and you will harvest is ripe. It really is. I think it's in my lifetime is the closest we've ever been to a global revival never in my lifetime. Can't recall anything is put everybody back on their heels and caused him to think introspectively and start to think about whether the weather going and what while this is happening so fast.

Welcome back man talk radio and we are talking about hope today Roy with pastor Pete First Christian Church in Kernersville, you know, when we write before we went on breaking that we are talking about, you know Roy you talk a little bit about your story and how you know you are on the other side of pulled under by that riptide and current budget. I wanted to go back to pastor Pete's message that he gave three points. I think that really hit home when it came to hope and the first one was hope liberates hope that hope sets you free. He said it, it releases us from our past failures. So pastor Pete I was wondering if you could elaborate a little bit on so many people can't let go and you know you're always talking about. You can never go for the greatest day of Christian leg really feel and it can't be let go and Jesus says just let go.

What ended up you can take your burdens. You can take your weight and allowing ourselves freedom to do that because there's power in the blood of Christ.

He says I will take your stencil and give them as far as the east is from the west and remember them no more and we as people don't have the capability of forgetting a lot of times your mind capture every thought God can forget God can forgive when we come to him and humbly and and say Lord, I'm sorry for what I've done that, we never have to go back we can just continue to move forward and reach out and I think that's why people are always going back Jesus said adopt Islamic picture that it really what it's like when we are forgiven something we go back to like to write that old sexual sin that holds people just keep going back rather than moving forward and not turning around looking back you know really what we were talking about and you know when you when you were referring to a particular point talk about Philippians 313 brethren, I do not count myself to be apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to the things which are ahead, and I think that in itself sums up you know the point that point that you were bringing out because we do have a tendency to carry this excess baggage, you know on our lives and just carry it through it and it's weighing us down whereas we should've cast us on the Lord.

Yeah let's get real. And I think pastor can confirm this, but you think.

Sometimes Christians are the worst that not forgiving in times when something's happened to them but especially not forgiving in the and I don't know you have talked about this in person. I love seeing Pete with an amazing forgiving heart.

In situations where people were just don't think sometimes about what they say or what they do. The new leader when you leave the congregation. You've got all these people are looking for you to be perfect when we know you can't be performing in the Pete his head has demonstrated that it was a great example what that forgiveness and forgetting means and I think Pete maybe could share a little bit because it was lovely was listening today and there we maybe even quite a few nonbelievers. How does a person really get through that when they need to forgive.

And we know that we need forgiveness. Christ forgiven us. But how do you really get away from the forgetting part get to the part where you can release it and be at peace that it's all okay well you know not forgiving is like and it taking into your spirit into your soul destroying but it does not affect the other people will always tell people to think better is like drinking poison and hope that effect, now that the poison is God wants you to forget that you can be free so that you can forward if you hold onto it and it just find you like a chain and and keeps you wrap rather than work out once and getting Christian see that and understand it is so important yelp that were straining forward. In the Greek language staring Philippians. It is such a powerful because it means it takes some endurance and it takes stretching out beyond yourself and reaching out to God, you can't do it right there. There's nothing we can't favor so we can give ourselves without the grace of God being in the midst of our lives, so we have to trust in, and I think that I don't know if the week that COBIT began and they close nonhospital. I had beer attack on my gallbladder and I had to go to the hospital. He could going with and I went through the casting in the dark came in third greatest thing they and they rupture and up. I did have a bite with no preachers. Nobody and I get down and she looked at me and you know they have a map on and she said Pete, how are you and want the members marks for Joe and he just gave me such peace and I think God was there wonderful to see only faith one thing that you can do for people during this what is hopeless. Time for some people is to help the hope for them to take a moment. Called Cheryl. I know that was a distant social distance, but it won't keep you from writing a letter keep you from making the phone call or texting to them encouragement, but people get that it changes their demeanor gives us strength to continue to move for it so good to you folks. If you just are the mirror back on that gives hope it encourages people and you know on the also been on the end of heaven by day and all of a sudden text comes in a semi-fixing phone calls and today I was just nuts to call you with nudging most likely from Holy Spirit to let you know you need to reach our brother and sister and just be that light in that moment because you never know will you have talked about this nothing Pete I know you heard or stored before I can entail becomes a type of ability to be all done it and all of a sudden you did know why you don't and it didn't make any sense to make the call may not talk to person quite some time, but after you made the call. God revealed it to you.

The person was in a great need either emotionally or physically restless, just lonely. You know to study just never know and you know Roy when you talking about, you know how you move to that forgetting and I think that's the hardest piece. It is because because the flesh wants to hold onto that and you and you know I've I've talked to many, many hundreds of of married couples in in counseling sessions and I've been asked that same question and the the answer that I give the individual whose asking the question, is that the person who you have maybe had been unfaithful to they may have been unfaithful to you and you don't want to forget what happen because your flesh don't want don't want get you can forgive them right but but forgetting what happened. It they have to now build that element of trust back to the person that they committed that syndicates right and when they start demonstrating that yes now I I can see through your actions that you now want to be faithful and to be with me until death do do us part then I think that demonstrates to that that person that now.

This individual has crossed over to that point of not only forgiving but now forgetting because they they've demonstrated that trust.

So it's it's a very, very difficult thing to do but it is possible for us to do it but but I flesh is in the way we live. It's at war you know and we always talk about Ephesians 612. Enough for we wrestle not against flesh and blood. And that's exactly what it is. It's against those powers that are invisible.

That's affecting the physical and the visible rim very good. Repeat what what's been the most amazing thing to sing to the scope of 19 crossing and locked reach is there and they had a baptism Sunday a young lady came in she wanted all her mom and dad, and that there were only like eight or nine other people building and up. She was baptized live streamed and everybody. The few people that were in there cheering and clapping. When I saw her come out think she's 13 or 12 years old.

Somewhere in there that look on her face, I'm found in Christ time, open I love and she wanted to bear that witness to her parents and the others and we did a dedication of her 12 to 13 years ago and not I get her dedication well so the widest thing be her neck. The steps in Victor life now to follow Jesus and to be a follower of Christ for the rest of the coolest thing even through all of it. Well the subject like God mostly got the following land. What an amazing story and explain one of the things want to just encourage folks to listen today. You have made a decision to follow Christ all you need to do is say no to what coverage you died on the cross and rose Thursday. If you accepted in your heart turn away from sand to start following Christ body fellowship with other believers don't have a church reach out to 12 got Dr. Kunkel on the phone was the First Christian Church would love had come visit and if you want to hear more of that message on hold, go to www.FCC ministries and listen to the rest of Dr. P's message, and I guarantee you will be blessed from it because I was well fulfilling is important to the doctor. Kunkel is on vacation days, the Johnson show we were submitting more minutes a lot of hours of restless vacation thank you so much we love you we love you. Love you Will all right take care were like Vegas or malicious act as we wrap up today show.
