So Pastor tell us little bit about yourself. So the audience can just know who you are burning Apple. In High Point, not Carolina and in the community and am a native of Burlington, North Carolina born and raised graduate from there there when all you college went to college and university in Kenya returned back to North Carolina. Duke University is my math.

The divinity and map the public policy graduated last year and I would leave my method is my first appointment last year right a week before graduation have been involved in the community, locally as well as nationally for internship in field education experience. I'll focus on really the uplift of the uplift of community that are impoverished that are often left out or marginalized. And that's been my background now for the last five or five or so year.

There praise God when you know how topic today is how to stop grieving the Holy Spirit and in Pastor we see a lot of things is happening around in the news and what we want to focus on for this segment is how do we get the church to stop grieving the Holy Spirit as it's talked about in Ephesians chapter 4 verses 25 to 32 but we going to look at verses 25 to 28 and Roy, reading 25 to 28 okay think you will.

Ephesians 425 through 28. Therefore, putting away lying, with each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath and anger, nor give place to the devil that who let him who stole still no longer rather let him labor, working with his hands. What is good that he may have something to give to him who has need praise God and with course we were reading from the new King James version there, but as you listen to that pastor. How do the church take these verses. How do you present these verses to your congregation. If we are guilty of grieving the Holy Spirit is great, great, great daughter or thought all I think I think I will take this from 25 and only got a new and about international bird blatantly. You must put off all your neighbor. We are all members of one body, and I think one of the way. Don't about all we don't want another and with one another when we either put on God or either will be how to go along to get along don't want to look at it, don't want to make anyone Philip on people who don't want to be put in the hot I believe in those late God can't do the transformative the breaking the ranch forming the molding work that God desires to do and I live because we simply allowed fall. Both the distant fault both ideology both back off behavior to take the place of the gospel and of the Christian message of God. That's one of the way that we greet the. I think were getting were getting away from the word of God exactly in the fundamental truths that live there. It works instead of it were were supposed to be in the world but not of the world book I think is happening across at least in the US culture appears to be that the work, the church is becoming part of the world rather than in the world and discreteness false truths fault for this façade. False narrative is going on about what's what's right and what's wrong and you know Roy any time when as a pastor I know anytime when you speaking the truth. You know's in today's time. People don't want to hear that they'll know they want their ears tickled and and and I think when they get that then they feel like perhaps maybe we had church so pastor I appreciate the fact that you talked about, you know all of these falsehoods because in the verses prior to this in Ephesians. It talks about taking putting off the old man and putting on the new man and so so we who are born again we can associate and understand what the people who are still out there in the world are going through, and God has brought us from that point so so when you speak to your congregation in reference to the life that you once lived, and now the life that you're living now. How do you put that in perspective to where you know them. The members and congregants would understand that. I think one of the way it all and departed lot of young@I don't have much as the people that all though in a way, however, one of the things that I thought of honing in on it that their work on the thing that I've learned there and from the bank like the money is what encourages me and I they found that that by bidding at their feet and by learning from them.

That's a great approach to your congregation tribute very humbling with such humility come through that so because you know as the as the leadership goes, so goes the congregation so and in order for the congregation to see and and and witnessed the things.

For example, you are involved in them and I'm very well impressed about a lot of the things that you mentioned that you are involved in because this is what we need. We need young men who are willing to step out on faith and let God be the one who directs and alter their steps in a way that we as the church can come into an agreement, you know, with the direction that God is bringing us in all of the time. You know, people are not going to agree with the direction that you want to go in my thing until you have a pastor. Meaner, my and my thumb in my 33 years of of of pastoring and ministering the gospel. Yes, that this is something that's going to happen. The thing with the same amount of anger that you had when you first enter the conversation with the situation because he and going into verse 27 it says don't give place to the devil so so right. That's what happened when if we continue to dwell on it number one that then that means we're not letting you go. If we continue to talk about it. That means were not letting it go. So if we if we have allowed ourselves to be angry because again as Pastor put it it it's that human emotion that's part of us were going to get angry but I think this angry is the is the anger because there is a righteous anger in our words. In other words, you can have an anger against someone who is seeming or someone who was doing someone else harm so right so yes this this anger here it is, is when we when we overstep that boundary into that scene boundary area. That's when we begin to give place to the devil in the Scripture tell us, don't go there just just don't don't overstep the boundary in which God has established for us absolutely, and I thought about and brought up in the comment. What I thought about inmate and I want to hear hear what the story of Cain and Abel painted angry and allowed in Dallas right allowed that anger that there is a point where you brought it all and I think often where where where we'd be right now it at and I don't believe there yet. Praise God for that.

But if the fight that we don't want to get the kind you are by where we are so angry at the deli of our brother. Are there and beat the retaliate and allow the devil that old and I live. That's where I think righteous anger and regions of the country to visit returns to bitterness because you you angry for the right reason and that righteousness and following Christ.

But if you focus on will to voice her to let it fester and then I can say conjunction shoulder and starts turning into bitterness and in that retaliatory mindset and are being vindictive or whatever you choose to chase in the pursuit right so I think that's the difference is turn it loose. What you get anger in your heart from a righteous perspective. The knees prayed up and turn it back over to God's okay brother I'll address it until we address it and turn the back of you and see and I theorize this is this is some of the things that were saying you know in a lot of the protesting that's going on.

You know it.

It is a unrighteous thing when there's social injustice in Omaha mean when you know that this is just unrighteous. However, and we can we can be angry at that. But at the same token, if we allow our anger to be carried over to the point of being lawless. Now we've overstep the boundaries of God and we entered that that since all yeah and I think there's a peace that is maybe one transition before the two will is you. Anger is one thing, you have a righteous anger about something is going wrong. But then when you turn that toward your brother before the violence occurs of it there's a transition that potentially occurs to a between those two pieces right between the lawlessness and because I could be angry righteously and don't allow something you've done. But then when I get angry with you as my brother and then my my attitude starts to reflect that. That's that's that's really were.

We got address it as well because that's where the, the treatment of others. The lack of love we go back to love your neighbor which is everyone you can see it doesn't say anything about hold them accountable in an abusive manner is about loving them through the wrongdoings right.

A man and he goes in this this winds up I versus let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands.
