Hopefully caregiver.com are you there check out all the resources we have for you. The podcast is free. Take advantage of friends don't let friends caregiver low and this is too hard job for you to try to do up all by yourself. That's 35 years of experience try to do this by yourself. It's too brutal so Gordon take a look at put it all out there for you got blog post.

I've got books of got audiobooks of got podcast to get music so many different things, hope for the caregiver.com I was doing an interview this week on a radio program and it swerved into the political of a political junkie. I'm very much involved.

What's going on. I pay attention. I read a lot and I immersed myself in it. But that is not my message for this program or the things that I do I do write some things but it's always from the caregiver standpoint, like a really interesting question and he asked me what can we expect from Congress had told him said well we need his number one stop expecting Congress to do anything and start demanding that they do it but if you wonder what you can expect from Congress. You can expect Congress to act in its own self-interest. They are interested in perpetuating their own kingdom that they created around themselves. This bubble they live in, and I can do anything about it otherwise would have term limits and they don't miss paycheck when the government shuts down. They don't miss paycheck nothing happens.

These people putatively and a lot of them go there with marginal means modest means and they come out as multibillionaire's explained that because we know how much the sellers are and you you see this systemic problem inside the Beltway in Washington and he this guy went on to the conversation and I didn't hold back comedian. I think I think I have a legitimate reason that I can document why x86 I can explain all the little policy nuances policies follow the money.

When you see somebody who makes roughly $200,000 a year and within five years are worth 20, $30 million. You do the math and figured out, and in going to come up with all kinds of ways to shield themselves and not have to play by the same rooms that other people that we saw this week we've witnessed this is not new, but he referred to something and it just caught my ear for a moment and it brought me back into the world of caregivers because I don't want to swim too long in the pool of politics because first off there's not a lot of chlorine in that pool but he said that you know that these public servants, and I stopped and I said, they're not public servants.

First off there, neither public nor servants public and plastic doing things for the good of the whole and these people are not doing this and you will know that there there there barking at the bequest of whoever pays them and with their whatever their special-interest door and as for servant, that implies you doing something that is benevolent out of you know your own lack sometimes and in your your your not being compensated per se. Certain commensurate with what you're doing in this case are servants. I mean I think you will see that I don't know anybody that looks these people so there servants. They got real servants heart for as a collective whole.

Now, and I've been around a lot of people in Congress is a collective holy don't they. They preen and in spout off things to to perpetuate their election cycles, and I stopped him and I said sorry from a little bit harsh with this but I been watching was happy with our country and it does informing me a little bit so I have to back awake is that that's that's off message for me but the term public servant just kinda rankled me and I said to him you know who the public servants are in this country it's caregivers of wounded warriors of first responders fire, paramedics, rescue police officers people and put on uniforms and rush to danger. Those people are serving the collective good in their profession and the people that care for them after they receive tremendous ones, injuries, disease, mental illness issues. I know too many cops who struggled mightily with years been on the force and that just the PTSD level with the call now but used to call PTSD and family members who are left to pick up the pieces of that that are untrained and unpaid said this to this house to me those are public servants, those of the people that are putting themselves between that individual and horrific in and I know people right now who are taking care of family members of the young kids went over to the rack and shot it. People with 50 caliber weapons and they can't process it. It's it's overwhelming to and they're not able to function very well in their battling terrible demons over this. I spent a lot of time at Walter Reed at the beginning of all this is Congressman Arthur a lot when stuff was going on in Iraq and Afghanistan and also family members there Walter Reed taking care of their loved ones.

Kids that received terrible wounds that are going to last a lifetime. I look at the wounds that Gracie has received and you to work decades and decades into this and I know the kind of wounds that will last a lifetime. We get these kids over there that we save their life. But they have terrible traumatic brain injuries we get police officer dealing with stress and unbelievable things that had to see we have child and family protective services in these people have to see terrible things that are done to children and who can who cares for them. They have a wife and husband have kids they have a father, mother, family member or friend that ceased to them because the blackness just overcomes the despair overcomes of the Fight against the enemy and they're doing it without pay in the do it without training the public servants and maybe this is a little bit of them and maybe I'm being a little bit you fill in the blank if I'm being too harsh. Let me know. I don't mean to be, but it just rankled me that these people of privilege and elitism, who dictate from on high. How the rest the country should live and they don't follow the same rooms themselves and yet they call themselves public servants. They call themselves honorable and just as raise your hand if you think that there honorable raise your hand.

Look at the approval rating of Congress and innately posture in the lately get the GNU flecked all to each other and yet right now I can rattle off names of people who are taking care of some of the bravest people that I know in their in their way in over their heads and they can't they do know what help. Looks like a way where to go for and that I keep them in mind what I do this program. I talked to a buddy of mine who was really passionate about and went out to help with the number 22, which was these fits every day that would commit suicide. 22 a day and you know it it will act out lived when I lived in Nashville right there near Fort Campbell and I would hear so many stories of these young men and women coming home for the battle and and and young young husband's, and otherwise wake up and I could see him holding a loaded 45 and she's completely unprepared for this to deal with this at my dad's military chaplain is retired but he you know he spent a lot of time with a lot of servicemen and women and their families still does know throughout his entire ministry immediately, yet don't think you ever stop being a minister certain of the caliber he's and even though your body is frail, you can't do a lot of things get over it.

Still in YouTube to speak it, life it into those who are struggling and we as a nation over to these people to speak life into their lives and to let them know that there seen in their herd and so I'm just asking you is of August. It's a little bit of a rant on my part, but when you hear the term public servant would you help direct people to a really doing the public service in the sense of their doing it out of the stat of lack out of no compensation. They're just caring for someone who cared for a lot of people I know too many cops who have retired and and they're not sure how to function in a normal life again buddy of mine is that that weighty East East. He said it's taken years to bleed off what he went through in the written relationships that suffered along the way and and I look at these young men and women that we were able to get to the call of the Golden hour I felt a lot of folks at Walter Reed and former commanding general boundaries of good friend of and they call it the Golden hour.

They were able to get these kids within a certain timeframe and save their life in the other was the body Would've been much higher in Iraq and Afghanistan like it wasn't in in Vietnam. We couldn't get to them in town. We couldn't we could save them from that, but we did in a wreck of gas medical technologies come along way of the way we do things that we saved them to a lifetime of neurological trauma.

These kids get the bells ring pretty hard and the families are left to take care of and I just wanted to let you know that if that's where you are today. If you are one of those family members are doing that. Please know how important you are and that you are truly serving this country in a way that is so deeply important and honorable, and there is help available for you. Get a hold of the chaplain. If your social worker that deals with family and protective services with children. Please know that what you're doing has great value and I implore you to seek counseling and help for yourself.

I appreciate the pain that you have to witness and see and if you're caring for someone that does this, please, please seek out counseling for yourself because what they're carrying is too big for you to be able to carry with them as well. Without some professional help help caregivers make better caregivers must be health together and thank you for being true. Thanks for indulging me on that. When this is Peter Rosenberg. This is hope for the caregiver will be right and the story appears wife Gracie and recently Peter talk to Gracie about all the wonderful things that have emerged from her difficult journey. Take a listen Gracie. When you envision doing a prosthetic limb outreach. Did you ever think the inmates would help you do that, not in a million years.

When you go to the facility run by core civic and you see the faces of these inmates that are working on prosthetic limbs that you helped collect from all of the country that you put out the plea for and their disassembly sell these legs like what you have your own prosthetic arms and orange everything when you see all this makes me cry as I see this on their faces and I know I know what it is like someplace where you can't get out without somebody else allowing you to get out me in the hospital from my these men are so glad that they get to be doing is one thing said something good with my did you know before you became an amputee that parts of prosthetic limbs could be recycled and I had no idea I thought Peg leg. I thought a wooden legs. I never thought of titanium and carbon legs and flexibly the legs and all that.

I never thought about.

As you watch these inmates participate in something like this, knowing that there there helping other people available providing the means for the supplies to get over there. What is it do to you. Just on the heart level. I wish I could explain to the world. What I see in here and I wish that I can able to come and say the this guy right here in East Africa with that. I never not feel that way out every time you know you always make me have to leave.

I don't want to leave.

I I feel like I'm at home with them and I feel like that we have a common bond that would never expected that only God could put together.

Now that you've had experience with it what you think of the faith-based programs. The core civic offers. I think there is absolutely awesome and I think every prisoner out there for half faith-based program because he return right at the men that are involved in this particular faith-based program and other ones like it, but I know that this one car is amazingly low rate compared to those who and I think that says that is me just has something to do with God is broken help. If you want to donate use prosthetic live, whether from a loved one who passed away or you know somebody well groomed. You donated some of your own for the did have it out of the please go to staining with.com/recycle gain. We
