For many many years working in my office I work from home and my wife would be the other end of the house and I would hear this crazy laughter coming out and I would look at my clock is oh Kathy Lee holder on and I could set my watch by how explosive her laughter was, which is no small thing. When you live with the kind of town. She has a monomer favorite people is here with us today. That's Kathy Lee Gifford, who has made my wife laughed for many many years because you have my eternal gratitude because it it it really wet and she didn't laugh quietly. She left boisterously, a bit like a drunk wine on data laughter and in union edited you.

She does and and and it's it's it's a wonderful testament though to you of the joy and the laughter in the love that you brought to a lot of people but to Gracie and me. Particularly, I want you to know how appreciative I am. And are you feeling today. I mean, I am glad I had called.

I've gotten about five years. You think I'm going to complain about anything. Don't know you do live in the Capital of the United States now in middle. Now I know that.

And yet I but I do know the difference and that it was a long allergy season here and I got that fine thank you Lord, gotten covert. Just I and you get.

Goodall had called lady in the left nostril on the left side toward the right.

I got a fun jet. We live in Montana now Jesse Lee moved from the Northeast into middle to see just as we were hidden out to deceive Montana.

It's just allergies. What we do. The it is in our sons. Are we just our grandsons and our granddaughter just left yesterday with her oldest and our younger son believed this afternoon to go back to Nashville. He lives there and that we are out of my boys and I were out on horseback to the day was just wonderful time to be with the family. I can't believe we have grandchildren us. This is embarrassing but not appear until in any way. Gracie got. She was asked twice in one day if I was her father. That's old. I'm starting to look. Evidently she thought that was fun. She laughed about that.

I sometimes thought you know everything take care of you will it's it's right here is incandescent white and not man their know I do shave so it wouldn't grow a beard but what it is white in and it is embarrassing you know to be. But no, I'm good with I was I was exit working in my yard in Nashville when we lived there just before we moved out here and some guy in a truck in a big they were building something at the house next to us and he backed and then turned back around and looked at me and yelled out as Linda said, hey yes or is it are you Phil Donahue know Tito would like it. He thought it was a normal question asked but anyway so Gracie got a big charge that she looks younger than I do Kathy Lee. Importantly, will she she. Thank you. She is she's got some challenges waiting for her architecturally.

She is just her body orthopedically just a train wreck and we got to go to Denver at the end of this month and see a very high high specialist specialist they're looking at some things with her, that are very serious to try to help with some things, but we don't know if she could survive it in and we don't know. So we were wrong. But but I told Gracie if she does the surgery.

We don't. I said Gracie were not there yet.

We if we were were at the point now where can she have the surgery they were going to get to. Should she have the surgery and then were going to go to will she have the surgery so we're not there yet time linking. Indeed, in good news is and and I think this is where Gracie's faith really. I think anchors are when she gave up her leg. Her first leg. I remember saying to people.

Later she said I didn't know what was on the other side of that operating room door, but I knew who and nothing WE want to. Is that okay he's he's already there. He knows and to trust you with today and this is where we are and so lives with them a lot of pain.

That's part of her journey and she and Johnny are very close to back London common enemy. Well, they were in. They were both hurt when they were 17 and I think so.

It's how it but but her. Her music is that I got a good friend of mine out here in was with Warner Bros. and in Nashville within the LA and he's wanting to cut some things. Gracie said it, he's a harmonica player. He loves to do the blues and so forth. And he said you to do some blues.

Gracie sings the blues and I said well she's got a right and you know so. She is singing and she's getting in studio in and sing some things and and she doesn't have the power she used to have when she saying, but she's got the artistry there because it's just coming from such a deep place in her soul and I think bit being out here in Montana's been good for her to look at this magnificent beauty, and just settle her heart down and so that's been been good for so thank you for asking.

From that, the audience is probably not take long will the audience. It doesn't know Gracie could could go unseal a bit more about her at at our website. It stating with hope.com you can feel a bit more about who she is and what she's done and what God is broader through and continues to do so ethically speaking of what God is broader through I've been watching some things in our country we read there so much discord.

There's so much unsettled is there so much rancor and I thought as believers. You don't eat the rancor you missed it. It slips into the church.slip of the church in that knocks the door down and goes on there knocked a few pews over and we we need to step back a little bit.

As believers and realize wait a minute, what are we contributing to this or we imparted the solution and you have or have a conversation about your book. It's never too late. We do that I guess about last December and I wanted just to kind of pick up where we left off because so many of the things that you put into this are things that I think that are important for us to understand now as believers and and I wanted you to just just unpack it because of your own journey of his personal stuff until about professionally. Thing is, you had to walk through letting go of some things trusting God with very uncomfortable things. Forgiveness. This resentment that we we seem to have collectively as a country you I think you and I would both agree on this resentment is exhausting. You call it an early grave right up there with that, there, and that's where they hit after call forgiveness it took to forgive. So just walk through little bit of what you reach down and the benefit that you got out of that and unleash this creativity got these oratorio are you doing to get movies you don't know that would've happened had you not wrestled with that with the forgiveness and the great grace of our Savior.

You know I I later rabbinic of the word of God so many years now I have that very very Jewish take on things that I even though I am Jewish I want raise you, and I am getting more and more and more comfortable and more more aware of our Jewish heritage that after all of whether we are Jewish by five blonde like I happen to be, or we are grafted into the root of Judah that there that that the Bible talks about what you know as all Gentiles are we are one tree and I love that journey out on the thumb after me. I will be and I will be like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God, and trusting in on his unfailing love forever and ever. I love that I love that we are from losing not just in God and in his mercy but but in our we haven't Gloria, Gloria, basically as a people, and it goes back thousands and thousands of years ago. In fact, the creation and so when I start to understand my little life. My little microscopic little life on the land that kind, and everything that is that it has been hailed, thank you for it and fit in there with you. Gracie looking at the Montana sky. However how small do you feel when you bear in the back kind of but it also has the opposite experience for me. If you're in all of God, wondering how he would be mindful of me. I mean, God of the universe and there are universal beyond our universe. I have no question that God Almighty Jehovah Elohim creator all things loving our little I little back ball when Dr. Paul deftly got it done.all and all can and I look back on all that he's done in his faithfulness in my life and I know your story is in great story and Johnny all of the believer at The same basic common denominator in our life and our faith walk and not God's faithfulness, not the other way around. Even when he gives up a and he gives up a phone that I wouldn't get from him on fighting and giving to us in his good and perfect that than James 117.

Three. I forget I'm getting old and every good gift comes from a box screaming down from the father in the heavenly realm does not change like shifting shadows. One of my favorite scriptures because we live in an ever-changing world, but I look back on the faithfulness of God. In it were no different than the wandering in the wilderness, although shared in God, Jehovah, direct is the word for God to provider what did he do, he provided every single day manna, which is that the that the food of the angel basically gave us the food of the angel, but he only gave us enough for what one day at a time, one day at a time and that's what blows me away because it went rotten. After that you needed it crashed every day and lack of God wasn't going to get it because God wanted us to wait. I love that other scripture that says in the morning like you here my voice in the morning I come before you with my request and then I wait I wait with expectant and I like to change that a little round that they expect me that God will show up because it word flawless and it promises are long and he is God Almighty and he does not change like ship shot so that manna is going to be fresh like his mercy every single morning and I try to stop asking them from more than what I give me what I need. Lord you are in the and I put you and I praise you and I worship you about all things in my life. You will get me greater greater things beyond measure. Many more that the patient immeasurably more than I could ever hope for matching and that is in three of the wall. We have with Christ, that the mystery of you and and Gracie standing in spite of the fact that it sowed difficult for her to actually even Dan and fell in difficult for you to stand beside her and be there beside her, the day of her struggle.

It's just you guys have one of the most beautiful love story type everything I've always admired that so much about you Frank and her and her courage made possible because you are there with her every second of the struggle and and.

And God called you 12 top-flight hard life, a life of perseverance and in pain and an III mean all you I am not as you know that I stayed because this very gracious because I'm very moved by that critically it is a hard life and I will just interject, but is not a bad life and I want I want listeners to hear that because where where suffering abounds gracious even greater in and we we seek.

We've seen this. That week I I watch Gracie as she sings now she sings with a sense of purpose and conviction that that just continues to deepen.

You don't want to play the piano or when a writer whatever we we we see things now that we would not see.

Had we not walk through the things we will through and you are the same way you wait and look at the creativity that's flowing out of you with these oratorio's that you're doing. I want you to get into those two would be to do right after the break, but but the creativity this quote whatever stuck in a coma less you walk through some tears and learn to let go of it and that's what actually is one of the chapters in your book. Let go. You and Excel. You and the whole thing I got from Mike is calling for long time ago and I just love the only thing we can cling to in this world without losing a piece of our fellow is the hand of God.

So we got really be honest with ourselves and what I mean. Other than the hand of God working up a prime one where nothing.

Indeed, we will quick break but I watch this is our nation where we see seems like were were so quick to keep our hands wrapped around someone else's throat you can't handle onto the hand of Christ while you're holding on to someone else's throat. We've got to let it go and just following right know and I did it it it is, is not an award with Kathy Lee Gifford this is Peter Rosenberger. You know all all things were about here on this show.

What I do my weekly show is equipping us to trust him in the midst of symptom-free and and yet that is when he reveals himself in ways our stem did not expect talk more about the speed Rosenberger to my 3 1/2 decades as a caregiver. Glad to have you with us were talking with longtime friend Kathy Lee Gifford and were talking about letting go of the things that are crippling us and instead clinging to Christ through these challenges through whatever we have we as we look at the country. The country is just having a meltdown and and we are so filled with rancor.

The only way to work through.

This is we've got to look and see our own need of a Savior and it's hard to cry out to save you that you will think you need, but we do know about is a shared in the first segment with the man whose limb. I washed and in Ghana and that smelly limb and I washed and Rilla and his mom is one of the real is how much more so my own sin calls Jesus asked the water you know and and and if we were so focused on the redemptive work of Christ in our own life.

We're not going to have time to slap other people around for not getting there redemptive work and this is the message that I want to to leave with you all today is that it's it's really okay to take your hands off of someone else's throat and cling to the scarred hands of Jesus because that's that in. That's what forgiveness is, it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. It doesn't mean that it doesn't have consequences, and that you don't have boundaries. That's not what I'm talking about.

It means that you are releasing this person or these people to the judgment of God not to your own and instead you cling to his scarred hands. Instead of clinging to their throats, because you know you this is no way to live in you seeing what resentment does to people you see on the news every single night you're seeing what bitterness does. And let's indeed show them something different. Let us show them the redemptive work of Christ in our own life and then invite them to accept that same root work in their life is will and Kathy Lee is no stringent event.

I do tell you one of things that really struck me.

Kathy Lee that you talked about it will be talked in December was that you had to walk through some forgiveness with Howard Stern and I thought you know there's one thing to walk, to forgive something to do it.

You know, and for the millions of people in heaven to do it with individuals who may not even ask for forgiveness. And yet, I am 30 or 30 year journey.

I started a talking man violent, horrible, horrible thing. Not only that mean that about me, my children know I I one I forget I'd never met the man never listen to Michelle never had anything to do with turning never wrong them or hurt in any way.

You know that. Forgive your your your fear enemies and those who find you and treat you guy I thought I did not mean but he shall be my enemy and and and I can okay then I'm to pray for him every die. Back) and about the like, I could look 2012 Cody was graduating from USA and it's a long story about it in the book is never too late, but it happened he appeared on the today show and I went up to him and you should be billed for a cool the way God did it when I did reach out to him and let him know that I have been praying for a 30 year advocacy income to me and asked for forgiveness. I said how I'm so happy for you that you are understanding how important it is you go back to the people that you hurt your your life and often forgiveness and I'm glad I'm glad but I just need you to know that I for gave you 30 years ago how I not been praying for you every day and there is no power like that kind of love and loving where we can even generate and you didn't stay in. No, I don't know your Christian by how many anything about it that we don't know your Christian find your love for one another.

Don't know your Christian by the way you treat people the way Jesus treated people the way we shouldn't even fit not condemn that we have no right to condemn, if we condemn others.

We will be condemned.

I felt that if we if we judge others will be condemned. But we forget we will be forgiven. And I believe what you sow.

I'm simplified my life when I say that not and and I better do it even if it makes no sense to me that often gotten to be obedient to what Jesus even writing and and he's the only voice I trust in the whole world never, never live the world lives on a daily basis and but Jesus never think back about you. In this particular case of you extending this to Howard and in you didn't ask. This is just you know he he he he took you one is an enemy and in whatever reason, but that he was evidently something happened in his life that he wanted to make some level of amends, and how much different that culture that that conversation would've gone.

Had you held onto bitterness.

Had you held onto random and and I will happen with this exact. I don't miss out on what I hear it again. We like your redemption. When we open our heart.

God can redeem all things through a forgiven art will and I look back it was the wonderful story of courage and bone with that Nazi guard came up to her and when she was speaking and she recognized him immediately and held his hand out in an she was just struggling of all bugs should I take this man's hand and shoved, and she did and it literally that that one handshake reverberated literally around the world, and around, you know, and I think this is the this the place we are in as believers that can we can we extend the same forgiveness that we have received can we comfort with the same comfort that we have received look at all the creativity that is flowed from you and I if I may be so bold, I don't think anyone or any of it would've happened had you held on the resentment now. Their statement I want it what you want.

It could grant favor want to strengthen our heart and in our day and even as we get older which it happened, all of it and write everything okay evenly young men will stumble and fall. But those who wait on the Lord and meaning and believe in the Lord will renew their they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not all they will walk and not grow weary and and I'm very thinking of my life. I'm in my I'm exercising in a way that might bone went up 7.3% last year not happen at miraculous it all and I long ago and I've never been. I feel more mentally acute and and get my I just feel all my tickets on fire and I think that's because the next know my life is going to be by far the most fall. There will be a harvest for all of those who have been toiling in the field for decades now, and that you and that Tracy and your departments will look different from mine, but nonetheless it will be because we trust that we were perfect we crafted God and that his promises are truly his word is all that and if we do trust him locking what pleases God is our eight he will quiet we will live long in the land and prosper at a future and a hope. Like Jeremiah, and I can't believe I believe it.

The world can tell me anything else that's contrary, I yanked it in the name achievement. I know not just by the word of God, but the word of God.

I know him experientially since I was a child and no amount of proof they can put in my faith that would make me say you felt it or maybe you don't know where he was my life at that moment the only way I got through it. I know you can tell me all kinds of. I rejected an online do I reject that I pray for you at your time to deliberate God will be present in your life and then you just want wait to and they cannot stand. I cannot stand before the law and blow them over like the Holy Spirit cannot stand on holy ground will soon watching have really enjoyed the chosen.

If you want to. I got you both in the latest film on my oratory. I Capernaum Village flat I got all those ideas from the chosen.

I'm grateful for them. Yeah, I think some beautiful, beautiful. Highly recommended for people that do well in such a great job of portraying Jesus this time another system.

Intensive reflective clause Caucasian. But just as a very Jewish God, who very whose very world of people and I love what they've done with it and just the. The compassion and the directness he doesn't flinch and when he sees the grieving the wounded and that that seem that you know when he saw when he met with the, the, the leper and he said my halite and will oh well you don't in the scriptural to I will guide weddings as a Scripture I will you do this is a will and he said he stretched out his hand, you don't.

Jesus did not have to stretch out his hand to heal anybody even after the work out to work, but why is it important that he stretched out his hand and he stretched out his hand to touch a man who everybody else at the end of the way they did this in the film was is that the disciples he was some of older knives to get this guy away from and unite this guy had no hope and we go to a taste of that with the culvert of of you would get everybody's unclear we could wear a mask you know when we can get near anybody in here. Jesus just stretched out his hand to touch something that was so one cleaned and he made it clean.

If we're not saying this on a daily basis to ourselves. How in the world. We just hit to the work to understand this gospel that this is what it is he touches that which is broken and unclean, and he redeems it, and he regularly here almost the last month working or doing on working on that.

Called the way and it basically from creation to revelation is the way and I and out the fourth oratorio that for it when I wrote with amazing amazing efficient with my dear friend Karen in the Nashville area now and it's called but got up he got of the other fine and and that's exactly what you're talking about the bank from the story when she'd been getting to the boat into the boat and meet me on the other side we and our Western civilization of Christianity. Think about anything getting about meeting on the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is technically off. However the other side. If you understand the benefit of the other side was an actual place it with the Decapolis when there were 10 villages where the pagan had escaped from Joshua and the NDX invading Hebrew when they invaded to take over the promised the ones who lived in the land of Canaan and went to a place called Decapolis 10 villages that were very very blasphemous in their in their way of life.

They they were made all kinds of thoughts other than Yahweh got locked on God love them but they certainly did not know his level were living by his love been complaining that it when Jesus said get into the boat, go to the other side and on the ship over there you in the boat with some I'm going to write you going to get it.hey man would now starting to understand that they were with somebody there. Following a very different kind of rabbi all those centuries ago, and the other side was where they had been told their entire lives in America. Go with what everything unclean. They've been warned about all their lives. What they went there they would lose community, they would be unclean. They would not be welcomed back into their family even basically saying you call me and go to the other side and you can allude everything for my name but it's going to be worth something about what happened. First thing terrible storm that the to come up on the Galilee are legendary. They come up so quickly and wait 20 feet high and the phone for barely 20 feet long, so here it is very very dangerous thing. What happened they that, but I think it's the ghost walking toward the fourth walking on the water heater company and Peter gets out and start the walk down 2700 and was on the other by launching minute he doesn't pull it all into the Amount of side quality what the next thing that happened leading guy coming out of the got 100 very very that we know about in the Bible is doing some of you know the remarkable story of Peter's wife Gracie and recently Peter talk to Gracie about all the wonderful things that emerge from her difficult journey.

Take a listen Gracie when you envision doing a prosthetic limb outreach. Did you ever think the inmates would help you do not in a million years. When you go to the facility run by core civic and you see the faces of these inmates that are working on prosthetic limbs that you help collect from all of the country that you put out a plea for and their disassembly so these legs like what you have your own prosody and arms and orange everything when you seal this makes me cry because I see the smiles on their faces and I know I know what it is been locked someplace where you can't get out without somebody else allowing you to get out me in the hospital. These men are so glad that they get to be doing is one thing said something good with my did you know before you became in a PT.

The parts of prosthetic limbs could be recycled. I had no idea I thought Peg leg. I thought a wooden legs. I never thought of titanium and carbon legs and flexibly see legs and all that.

I never thought about. As you watch these inmates participate in something like this, knowing that there there helping other people all providing the means for the supplies to get over there. What is it do to you. Just on the heart level.

I wish I could explain to the world. What I see in here and I wish that I can able to come and say the this guy right here in Africa with that.

I never not feel that way out every time you know you always make me have to leave. I don't want to leave. I I feel like I'm at home with them and I feel like we have a common bond that I would've never expected that only God could put together.

Now that you could experience with what you think of the faith-based programs for Corsica golfers. I think there is absolutely awesome and I think every person out there should have faith-based programs because he return right of the men that are involved in this particular faith-based program and other ones like it, but I know about this one car is amazingly low rate compared to those who don't. And I think that says that is me just has something to do with God. Somebody broken people want to donate or use prosthetic limb, whether from a loved one who passed away or you'll somebody well-groomed you donated some of your own for the please go to standing with God/recycle gain/recycle we
