We cannot take away, but we can change we can grow. We can adapt and along the way, we may discover that we make beautiful music and we experience beautiful music. Not what we expected. I live with someone who's whose legs are. I can't fix it is way beyond my skill set power effect.

All the surgeons that have worked on her can't fix it but I can change as a cure for and I can grow as an individual and along the way, I discovered that there is beautiful music. It's a great date of make music as we sit there and and and except certain realities that that are beyond our abilities. How many of you all are in the situation where you have thrown everything you have you tried as creatively as you can to somehow fix the situation or change or improve. And it doesn't I know folks in relation with alcoholics who have thrown in attics with ropes so much money at this going to rehab and and everything else and doesn't change this, beyond your ability is her point where you can maybe change up you and the way you are approaching this and recognize maybe your responsibility. This is not to fix this individual would just for you to trust God in it.

To do this to to to sustain this over time you can't and it always starts at the heart level. If your heart is a train wreck. Guess what the rest of you looks like it's only a matter of time before your wallet, your body, your relationships, your profession in all of these things collapse on the street so we start on this show on the heart level of understanding these truths in God that Scripture lays out of how to navigate through these very painful realities without collapsing through fear or despair or or getting herself so worked up over rage and resentment and these are things that that affect us as family caregivers. I was talking with someone last night and and they were discussing go the way we interact with loved ones, and so forth and and they had a someone who was dealing with alcoholism and it she said I don't know whether I should yell at her or or Faucette or or whatever nested step back for just a moment alcoholism.

This disease of addiction has overtaken this individual and you can yell and you can shame them. You could berate him you can do all those kinds of things, but you might as well be just argue with diabetes you know what, I guess it's if you take it out of the behavior issue and look at it from a from a impairment issue or disease or affliction issue.

It should understand the concept will be more my wife missing both for legs. I cannot argue with amputation. It would be stupid and inappropriate for me to in any way malign her for not being able to to walk in a normal manner because her legs are gone and we could wrap her mind around, but when you're dealing with the behavior issue.

Somebody was mental illness or somebody who has a an addiction. We want to help, just shake them and and and help them snap out of it and just make a better choice on not understand that we can't with this is beyond us and we get ourselves all worked up thinking. Somehow we can we can go in there and fix this thing that we can't go back to the story I had with the former playing the flute is targeted the chickens lay more eggs they can label any more eggs. With the flute or with anything else. It was just that was it was beyond his control. Once she's done what he can do we give them the food gives the water then chickens had to do what chickens do, but as he was playing a splint for them. He realized he was making better music. He was becoming better at his instrument.

He was change and that's the goal for us is caregivers to realize that there are things that are just way beyond our abilities. Most things in fact, the only thing that we really have control over our thoughts or words or deeds. That's really all we have control of and so if we're so busy trying to force someone else to change or improve or stop acting in a certain way. We are spending all of our time trying to do something that is not ours to do it always comes back to heart level. Look at where we in this with Christ or we understanding the changes going on in our life that is available to us. Can we live peacefully in this. When Elijah after he had had his big encounter with the prophets of Bailey Randy. He fell asleep with the angel the Lord came and brought them something to eat but rested up, took a nap when Daniel was in the lines did he was able to sleep at night. And if you notice on the news in things such as that that that they they have a vested interest in getting you ramped up over something you can't fix it and am keeping us in a perpetual state of outrage where is the Scripture comes along and speaks to us on the spirit level heart level to keep to to help facilitate a staying in a perpetual state of trust in a perpetual state of resting in God that I'm not going to get torqued up about things that have I have no control over and as a family caregiver you understand this in ways that maybe others don't get the opportunity because we live with it relentlessly.

It never goes away.

And so we are we are confronted with this on a daily, sometimes hourly basis on my CD put I need thee every hour. There's was it what you put that on there so because there's no sound.

This is I need the every misfit itself and to go with any of you every hour but but we are confronted with this relentlessly that you either make peace with this or you could go barking bad and you could end up being so filled with resentment or despair that you can't function and I go back to the Scripture today. Jesus said if you believe all things are possible. One who believes human believes the father child cried out and this is our prayer.

This is month that I love this prayer Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. You know and and and crying out to God is in itself an act of faith and it's not how much faith you have is the object of your faith. What are you believing who were you believing in what does this mean Ezekiel 1119 states and I will give them one heart and a new spirit I will put within the motor move the heart of stone from the from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh. In other words, we are being transformed. We are being changed to this.

If we trusted him to do this, and in some everything okay if God will right every wrong that I can be at peace and that is not what Scripture teaches scriptures teach. He is going to write all this. One day they will be done at this things we know this, but in the meantime he's inviting us to trust him as he works his redemption out if his weight in his time in his plant and so once we get a hold of that principle. However, timidly we are we are doing. Once we get a hold that principle that it changes the way we approach the situation is our love ones deal with and we stop trying to force what we think is best on someone else and trust God to work his best in their life and in our life and that's when we can go back to the song that we did today. It is no secret what God can do what he's done for others, he'll do for you. With arms wide open. He'll pardon you and it starts with the understanding of the word pardon, because if you are somehow coming to God think you look to fix this, you know that I'll be happy and God is seeing a greater problem in you there. There is a greater issue in your life in my life than just the angst we feel over our love. However big a deal. It is for dealing with this caregivers. There's a greater issue in understanding his promises, his word, his changing power in that is the starting point.

Gracie and I both tell you there are worse things than amputation. There are worse things than orthopedic challenges.

Our bodies orthopedic train wreck and will both take their worse things there worse things than Alzheimer's and he came to to address that issue. That was the purpose of the cross and then all the other issues will flow from that you track it with me and that's why I pull out these hymns and the songs to help drive that point home in ways that maybe I can't do very well because others have come along and they've done this out a while back several weeks back we did of God, our help in ages past, O God, our help in ages past with that alone implies that that there have been times when we've seen God's provision in ages past. In the in the past, long ago, and we can rely on that and and we look at all these individuals who have walked through these things and were standing on their shoulders.

We have their lives to to to look to then and in the book of Hebrews. It says there's a great cloud of witnesses that are cheering us on. Do you know that there's a great cloud of witnesses that are cheering you on right now as your caregiver. They said that that that that all these things that you're doing were using nobody else is seen seen you do it in the middle the night your cleaning up just horrendous messes or you're taking abuse from someone or you're so tired that you can even stage you know there's a great cloud of witnesses that are cheering you on.

This is the message of Scripture to assist family caregivers in my passion on this show is to say this in a way that we as caregivers can understand this. I didn't have anybody speaking to me like this for the wealth really for the entire church. I've had to aggregate a lifetime of this and try to somehow make sense of it in the caregiver ease, but because I speak fluent caregiver. I'm able to take these principles now and offer them to my fellow caregivers in a way they can understand and this is why we do the show. This is what we do all the things we do because I understand how lonely, painful, how discouraging this is.

The interview with the recording of them doing that the live recording and just listen to the simplicity of a four-part harmony singing when we've been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise that when we first begun and and I think this is that the message for us as caregivers that we we are going through these very painful painful things I get it, but Scripture anchors us into something eternal in the moment we live in the moment, but we have the perspective of eternity which gives it gives meaning to the moment. So as we do these things as you go through these task that you do weekend and week out as caregivers that you do this if you just hang on to whatever phrase that you can of the music we've done. It is no secret what God can do. You've heard it here from Nancy who did this with her husband and their the days when she was solo, and yet it is well it is no secret. Jesus loves me. You know all these wonderful hymns that we we been playing here on the show for some time. They mean something in the midst of these very very difficult circumstances, and we would ask that you hang on and if you feel like your faith is weak while I've got very good news for you, because Jesus said to this father.

If you believe all things are possible to him or believes in the father cried out, said Lord city cried out with tears, Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.
