Speaking of angry we got we got some going out to Truth Network this can help the world not be so angry, just need God's word is please help to Truth Network send Bibles to Africa and we know that they they need God's word. We have until the end of the month, just five dollars gets a Bible in the hands of a poor, impoverished believers all over the African continent with the help of the Bible league, just five dollars is think about that Robbie just five dollars a please give you give more than five dollars man would love for you to do it in the number to call is one 800 yes word, one 800 yes word on 800 yes word and here with us bringing you 35 years of experience to help you stay strong and healthy as you take care of someone who is not. If you will be part of the show.

888-589-8840 888-589-8840 and we'd love to have you with us to get into couple things when you first start off Psalm 119, 105 you will know this, Psalm 119, 105 and it is thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path that you don't know that thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and that brings me to our trivia song for the day which reflect into our opening monologue will do all that tight altogether will be a nice package so if you know this song feel free to call it the you know that so that is the message that sounds very applicable to assist family caregivers and that brings me to the store alone to tell you of Gracie, myself and our sons many many years ago we were leaving West Yellowstone, Montana. We been at the park that day and if you would be for me with that area.

We were going from there to big sky, Montana.

There's a highway that goes out of West Yellowstone to go straight up to big sky, but it goes still staying through the park when you go to the park. There are no lights. There are no dwellings for a long stretch of that journey and it was snowing heavily when we got there we left West Yellowstone and the lights were still super bright all the stuff that we drove up and also in boom all the lights were gone and you're driving on this road and this kid it's covered with snow.

I mean covered with snow and the snow was pouring downriver that scene when you first saw Star Wars with a window hyperspace in the lights, came at you and you know it was just such an amazing moment in the movie theater. Well that's what it felt like we were driving and so so drive down there and there's there's a lot of people leaving and I'm kind of followed along these people look at their taillights and I'm can fall because you could see the road and one by one, though it I think it must've done all of us and that caravan of cars leaving that we were all looking at the taillights and trusting that that person front of us knew where they were going, but I knew that the Gallatin River and the wilderness to easily get off the road you're in trouble and I thought okay do I know if these people are doing what they need to be doing nothing to do they know where they're going and I one by one know everybody kept pulling off and letting everybody else pass them in pursuit. I found myself in the lead of driving, the road of got the kids are asleep in the back. Gracie's dozing off and I'm holding on to the steering wheel for dear life because I truly cannot see more than one reflector in front of me. It is these big tall reflectors that they put double-decker reflectors out there on this highway and I couldn't see anything past that there's one on either side of the road. I knew for stay between those I'd be on the road and that's all I had and I did that for many many miles drive to the snow that's pretty normal for everybody out here Montana on a regular basis, but it was my first time doing it.

It was a little bit nerve-racking and eventually we saw the lights of a big sky we get there everything was okay. What's the lesson learned from this is a carrier I think it's pretty obvious to you, me and everyone else that sometimes all we have is one reflector at a time so we get and is long as we stay. You know, guided by that reflector real estate in the road. Reflectors are put there for a reason that we as caregivers like to live way down the road we like to worry about what's coming. We believe we are certain we know what's coming, but often times the light that we have is only for the next the next step. That word is a lamp unto my feet and a light into my path was this insights a searchlight. That word is a lamp to my feet when you're dealing with the uncertainties that you deal with as a family caregiver are you anchoring anchoring yourself in the word of God, to understand what your next step is now. I've looked through all of Scripture, and there is no place where it talks about a guy taking care of his wife with 80 surgeries both of her legs amputated so I can't go to Scriptures okay Lord so we go see this Dr. that's not it. What happens with us as caregivers, as we are so tort buyer fear by the by the by the string that we live under that we make. Sometimes rash decisions. We have to slow down slowed turn on our little beings you know that you when you drive in snow.

You don't have your high beams on your to turn on your low beams, you're only going to see what's right in front of in order to better deal with that you're going to have to just go slow and deal with the next step at a time. That sounds unpleasant and it can be, but it's not nearly as unpleasant as driving off into a river is not nearly as unpleasant as getting stuck in the snow.

You know, late at night in the middle of nowhere that's unpleasant and so we as caregivers can get ourselves stuck in some very tough situations. But God has set things for us to be able to look at it for paying attention. We can follow the reflectors that are there. So when you have bad news that comes in what you what's a reflector that puts you back on solid footing that that keeps you on the road. What is that reflector for you. What has God done in your life and in the and in communicated clearly in your life that you realize all this is where I'm supposed to be. This is safety because he doesn't just willy-nilly abandoned list of the things he is there with us. That's the whole point. That's what his name means a manual, God with us. He tabernacles with us.

Okay, that's what it means gala walk to the Valley. The set of death I will fear no evil for what thou art with me and so he is not going to abandon this but are we going slow enough intensive of delivered enough and respectful of the conditions enough that were not to get ourselves or we may not get there as fast as we'd like the fact I'm certain of it. We won't, but that doesn't mean that we won't get there safely following the same letter Sunday 888-589-8840 888-589-8840 if you know this so good I'm walking over to the caregiver keyboard caregiver keyboard down here at the caregiver keyboard know that song give us a call 880-589-8040. Tell me why that's always important. 88 858-9884. This is hopefully to this is Peter Rosenberger. This is the show for you as a family.

No healthy caregivers help you feel like going to get more no will Rosenberger.

This is the show was a family caregiver love that song. I love that that voice was that voice for a lifetime love love love love love what she does with the song and I'm glad if you will. And by the way, if you like that you would like that that CD we actually have a lot of equipment we have to ship over to Africa right now prosthetic limbs. We recycle and thank you all.

By the way we been getting so many used prosthetic limbs into the prison where they recycle them.

They're coming in from all around the country and they go to prison in Arizona from by company out of Tennessee and they go to prisoners or inmates volunteer to disassemble them for us. We can recycle the the defeat.

The part that needs the pylons all the screws that after all that kind of stuff and you have to build a new socket for the patient but you can recycle a lot of materials on it and this will do and somehow you ship it over there and we got quite a bit. The ship we could use your help if you want to be a part of that will send you ask. I got especially if you want to do just one time thing of $250 will send you a copy of my book Gracie CDN my CD what to hope for caregiver.com and learn more hope for the caregiver.com if you like to show what's what's going on with the show in the message of the show and you will be a part of helping get this out even further. Go out there today, hope for the caregiver.com and be a part of what were doing all right got a few folks it seemed to know the song and were going to go to them right now. This is well this is Betsy into the sea, God, Peter, Peter, your bets, there have been trying to get me out here hanging on Mount Vernon get the radio God will make away. Indeed, but bubbly, though I knew what I saw Betsy to see him.

This was Betsy and her family are one of my loan is old oatmeal.oldest friends there. One of my long time friends. I mean we go back 40 years. I just love heard of it. Would Betsy tell me this you know the song why is it wise that some important now are wrong when it came out and I don't know when it came out exactly remember who found Don Mo that okay with integrity music or something. One of that.

It really was administering when I when I like doing the first time I think I get cried because it was so powerful and because it was so full of truth and it began. At that time was very special to someone very special to me and I was able to pass on that phone to have a special friend and it really ministered to her and it ministered to name whenever I've heard it, and Jeff Manley started playing it. I had a wonderful thought of that, the power of the word Jeanette found because when you didn't belong to Christ, he does make away and he can't count everything to turn out good and he then put the lamp on everything Hampton and shows the way and down Pratt the story. From what I understand of what he wrote this is some friends of theirs that had to go to some kind of terrible accident with multiple family members died in and Don wrote this it in when you listen to the lyrics will be at the caregiver keyboard Betsy now got away where there's no way in ways we cannot. He will make away. He will be like hold me closely to see with love and strength for new day he will make away will make away better. Gracie saying it but doesn't get at this early in you will bring.

You're married to a singer it's it's best if I don't earn their ongoing sale or want to dream, but I think this is thank you for that. I think this is this song Betsy is for me it it's one of those simple lyrics. God will make away and I and I think about driving through that snowy canyon and only going one reflector to time and you know it's you.

You'd love to be able to race down the road to get there you are feeling kinda nervous and unsettled. You don't really know what's going on. You don't know what's ahead of you, but you just gotta go one step one reflector to time, knowing that God will make away weather seems to be no way. And if there's nothing else that a caregiver will remember in those moments when he gets so normal, but it just gets so crazy that God does indeed make away so that's that's what I felt like that that we as caregivers would benefit from today has as well earn that I haven't ever done anything that hard in my life only helped with not my mom for about six month and it was Hitler in hard times that same time, God, and he – he makes a lame and when you think that there is no way to get through a day from turn and you know when you're attracted and him. He just wanted called in case you and he will he will get you through no matter what it will and you don't do credit to the journey that you and your families head which is been significant had moments when you guys. You know, looked at each other wondered how interesting moment and unite, and on.

I remember wanting a time. I will go into that story evident that I remember thinking, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to handle their that all I do know is that the Lord is with me and I'm going to have to trust his word and a narrative again makes me think of another config you know. Proverbs 35 when you just trust in the Lord with all your heart, you can't lean on your own understanding and yet really understanding this mandate is slightly below the broken crutch for me it is just going to currently don't have any event prior little fraction of God went and then understanding and foreknowledge within our life hand-in-hand, and he will get us to the destination and we might be a little date not that will get there.

Gracie was facing her first imputation way back in 91, she struggled for years to deal with that leg and finally was going to come off and she said later she said I didn't know what was on the other side of that operating room door. But I knew who waited for me there and I think that's that's the that's that's the faith. I like to emulate his knowing that he is already there and it is not only with us but is already where were going to be going and and that the uncertainty is what plagues so many caregivers we we live torqued up in fear. We live with the synchronistic human condition is not just unique to us as caregivers but it is the human condition of wondering okay what we can do what we can do what we can do and and when it just crashes down on us that that that first.

That word is a lamp to my feet and I find that if people will will intentionally deliberately and and and and out regularly go back to the word of God. They will find that clarity of thought to be able to take the next step so that they understand that God indeed will make away in an thy word is a lamp unto my feet is not a searchlight. It is a lamp and a light unto my path. He's not is not like your landing on an airstrip with tons and tons of lights and so we want that that's not what he's offering. He's asking us to trust in that he's there with this and that's the whole message of the song of that verse and and what we try to do on the shows let people know that you really can trust him with each step.

Those reflectors that were put there in that I was driving to. They were put there in the dead of winter.

They were put there in the summer they had clear like so I can trust that they were going to get me to where I want to go well. The reflectors that God is put in were put in because he is the light and he knows exactly what he's doing. So Betsy, you have a will is always a treat. I got a ask you one thing mom and dad consider listing they listen every Saturday morning. Salo morning that there like that right now and in the day, will you love on your family and you tell Tommy that he's always welcome to call it. I know I know he will. Would we really have a pressing need of getting a bunch of supplies of prosthetic limb parts over to West Africa we been working with her for 15 years and this is what Gracie envisioned. After giving up both of her legs of being able to help her fellow amputees inmates in prison. Arizona recycle prosthetic limbs are coming from all over the country and then we ship those supplies over to West Africa where they will then use those to build a custom fit limb and if you want to be a part of doing that were asking for one-time gift 250 bucks and you can will send you copy of Gracie CD my CD and my book as a thank you for that. What to hopefully caregiver.com today and see how you can be a part of this list go to Delia Texas doing good morning hello good morning doing how you feeling all clear and bright morning. I was ready out.

I left every Saturday morning with thank you very much duly thank you tell me what's going on with you today my wife about your picture, click here. She developed cancer in her throat in her stomach area and I got right of all the cancer through key Molly.

You know how that works.

Just a lot of meeting extra Karen Strauss and then not she's cured of the cancer – East still got stomach trouble. She still click Of the time it's just one thing after another that I had to have a pacemaker put in a new case maker party air.

It's just been a real struggle will couple months your show really live up everything for. Unfortunately I did not know the farm this morning. I usually do, but I was able to get through. Yes God and make away that tell me your wife's thing. My wife of Merrick right.

My wife's name is Mary Grace. So one one caregiver for Mary Grace to the caregiver, Mary Grace you know God will make away doing in a love that love God will make away with where there seems to be no way and you know ultimately the way he made was to the cross.

There was no way was no way that we could be reunited with God, so God made a way where there seem to be no way that everything else reflects down from that and you know the situation with you and Mary Grace is it's a painful thing to walk through doing and then knowing that your own health. This take a little bit of a beating. It's a painful thing and in one of the reasons I do.

The songs is in those painful moments if you can remember just that first line God will make away it. It sometimes helps settles down in the midst of of craziness and so is there a particular song that means something to you. Do you got Colin appear his wife's name is Mary Grace. I'm going to take a moment with you.

Okay I just got is there particular song to him that mean something to you. Yeah, made great.

You know, and I played he seems a little bit slower usually because my life is frenetic enough.

I don't need my music to be frenetic and just kind of yeah just kind of a hover on those him you know and and just you know they're there beautiful rooms and and you listen anytime he gets gnarly 40 doing any tough just because your wife's name is Mary Grace any tough call and show it off like so and for your right.

All right, I have your feet you call and I appreciate you listening to him.

I'm glad to know that the show was is meaningful to you. It is not an easy thing to take care for Mary grace I just say that from personal experience. She will will hear that she's a slick and not know it. Now mind you I hope will I will I will leave you with this duty. I leave you this I got six more calls but I leave you with this.

Our Savior is the ultimate caregiver of the wounded bride okay you're taking care of your wounded bride. I'm taking care of my wood rot. But you know what our Savior takes care of his wounded. He's the ultimate caregiver. So as you care for Mary.

Grace just remember that you have a Savior who truly, truly, gets this okay. He truly gets this and he will not abandon you in this okay right now doing. Thank you for the call and I look forward to future calls with you. Thank you so very much for taking the time okay. Yeah, thank you for being a blessing quite welcome.

All right, let me go to Paula in Arkansas Paula good morning, how are you feeling Saturday morning. That's it. That's a that's a challenge is wills utility. I have a note here, this is your feeling guilty talk about my mom and go meet will list. Let's go back to what you feeling guilty feeling the way you feel you know all the things that you feel you've been through it you been cutting through the meatgrinder. Here the last couple of weeks and months, and so forth and you will not go. Did you should be getting the show when I was talk about driving on the snowy road you know it no point on that drive. Did I ever feel settled I was. I was gripped I had to pry my hands off the steering will when I got to where I was going. You know, because I was nervous the whole time I had everything everyone I love dearly, most dearly in this world were the car counting on me to get this right, but I intentionally paid attention to the reflectors and drove slowly and did the next right thing. It was an intentional decision. It was not haphazard out I did not just kind of wished myself into feeling more settled.

I just said okay I'm going to willfully and knowingly trust these reflectors in the right place. So as you feel guilty for this and that, I get it, but I would ask you to do intentionally just say to yourself, out loud you know God will make away where there seems to be no way he works in ways we cannot see it when you intentionally say that to yourself over and over and over you reminding yourself the truth you're speaking it out loud when you intentionally say that word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. You are doing what. There's a great story. She is free to go back and read it in the end Dixon first Samuel and David was on the run. King Saul was chasing him all over the countryside with those men and David had his men with him and the Amalekites came while they were all fight the battle and took all of David's family. All of his men spend all their possessions are livestock everything. So the key back to the camp and if they was gone and his own men were going to stoning. They were so outraged and upset and David it said strengthen himself in the Lord by himself while his body was facing being stoned and he just strengthen himself in the Lord. That is our that that is our invitation during these moments when we feel the way you're feeling right now. You strengthen yourself of the Lord. How do you do that you say out loud. You remind yourself of the things of God.

So when do we called it a moment to go in and we played amazing grace that if you can do nothing else, just say to yourself, amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me and now you're strengthening yourself in the Lord you're giving yourself that next right thing. You are looking at that next reflector and you're moving along this road however slowly, doesn't matter.

Slower the better. Sometimes what you don't don't don't put torture on yourself and think I need to be feeling this when he be feeling this way. Just declare it now that God will make away that his word is a lamp unto my feet that his grace is sufficient when you say these things your strengthen yourself. The Lord you calm yourself down and then you can make the decisions that are in front of you with a clear mind, heart that help a little bit. Well listen you are welcome to call anytime.

Paula and just as you go to the days go to that doctor's appointment. Just home to yourself. God will make away God will make when weather seems to you're quite welcome and thank you call Mrs. Rosenberg. This is hopefully caregiver. We are so glad that you with this. 888-589-8840 will be right you ever struggled to trust God when lousy things happen to you.

I'm Gracie Rosenberger in 1983 I experienced a horrific car accident, leading to 80 surgeries in both legs and became it. I questioned why God allowed something so brutal to happen to me.

But over time, my questions changed and I discovered courage to trust God that understanding along with an appreciation for quality prosthetic limbs led me to establish standing with help more than a dozen years of gone in West Africa, equipping and training local workers to build and maintain quality prosthetic limbs for their own people on a regular basis.

We purchased ship equipment and supplies and with the help of inmates in a Tennessee prison. We also recycle parts from donated lambs.

All of this is to point others to Christ. The source of my help and strength, please visit standing with help.com to learn more and participate in lifting others standing without.com. I'm Gracie. I am staining with help 88 is not the reason I wrote that with my friend Hank Martin many years ago and I got a little bit tired of people talking all the time about going to Christ because it will go to heaven questions when you go to question and I'm thinking is that really what we're about here is that you just can fire insurance and do they understand the magnificence of who Christ is and I look back, it you least Thomas for example, when Jesus appeared to him and showed him is is scars. This is a good on his hands and feet aside and Thomas is filled out as is my Lord and my God and I believe you know and and it was when when people were encountering Christ. It wasn't about going to heaven.

It was about encountering Christ thought, right song but that's what heaven stuff.

The reason fall down on Monday streets of gold cannot compare to what Jesus means to me a million angels singing can outshine Calvary. Jesus is all heaven.

I needed and it's not that I don't want to go there is just that I beginning to understand the magnificence of what he did on the cross and what he has done for me in the transformation that is going on in this life and that's what I'm grateful for so I get this hungry CCD Gracie soluble technical problems are, but that's okay that's a Slav radio Tony and Virginia Tony, good morning program and I can let go. I don't remember because I'm trying to call in and anyway and I'm I'm so grateful to learn somebody called in and her husband died in 2019. September is when my husband died I took him to the doctor for the procedure and never came back home. Later he was gone and I did.

I didn't even know that at the time that I and a lot of ways that I what I appreciate at that time we have this virus thing. I climbed up in the bed. When he was dying.

I held him and I was with him. What I appreciate is that were to happen now. I couldn't remember been in the same room. One touch them or anything that my food-it was snowing so hard and we were driving up to Canada and the snow was coming down so you can but there was a and in turn the lights off, and when Joe way from Germany to Sunol and stuff and we were on the cliff on their side and I learned right, people can learn something from no bite or whatever. I know I'm talking a lot though. It's okay. It's all right. I was thinking up at here where I live isn't in the Rockies, Montana love him And if you turn off the lights when there's a full menu to look like. So there's a full moon out here and you can see the snow on the ground. It is this it is clear it's actually clear the drive with your lights on.

Sometimes it it it is it is really stunning when you're out in the wilderness like this when you have a full moon.

In particular, the stone grant is everything just lights up and you can see very clearly and watch for dear professional caregiver and I'm tired three times from that home I took my optionally made to I caregiver I can abundant people and I and I became dumb around people I I still think that I Eric's but sometime I had to be tough and my mom's off and every law on and I can go in and do that. I'm not gonna let God have an iPhone on. I don't know how many times I saw them turn our stove on. So that willing and sometimes you have to do that.

That's just the way it you know because you're protecting them from sometimes themselves and in its yeah I get that depend on the circumstances will do you still feel guilty I want my ice cream and mine. I had to bring church, which planning around and I told my grammar right now and it wasn't very long after that it was in that same timeframe time I was home.

It was late at night and on their side and I couldn't write in my thinking on when I started the car and got Dameron Dameron, Darren and I went out in a light but there wasn't a lot of traffic on that I can try and between the whatever you call the tops of the trees between now and jumping around you. Your title and it it's okay up what would when you feel guilty.

What do you do with that guilt I knew it I and right now I'm a lot I talk to myself I my thought… I like that I can hear what I want to hear.

I line I don't myself and I say now now will I need. I'm September and I think my mind can't be two years old, time, and I now I don't menu anymore. I don't got no no I don't and I told him that day and great and well it's it's an interesting dichotomy when you tell somebody that you don't believe in them and yet there you're telling them you didn't believe in and why would you be telling them and I so this is how I write and I get I like that kind that he doesn't do that now.

Now I doesn't listen up child and at that time been there.

I don't know when and what but when you get to be my back on. Well, I thank I can understand it. Listen to appreciate this very much appreciate you call them.

Please continue to remind yourself what to do with that guilt and we we look forward to just more talks with you. Thank you for listen the show and I really do appreciate you calling it okay as we wrap up for today will get like about a minute. I'm not be able to get all the calls on it, but it is we wrap up. I wanted to just give leave you with this because they're going to be times when you get this disoriented along the journey. It's going to happen. Maybe happening today and if you get nothing out of the show besides just this text.

God will make away. Just hang on. The weather seems to be no that word is a lamp unto my feet, that in your heart, remind yourself that slow down loading and look at the reflectors that are there for you to keep you safely inside lanes. There's no go way off, careening into a ditch somewhere.

That's how we do so we do is we got enough going on. We don't need to borrow trouble from the future we don't waste so help. This is John Butler and I produce hope for the caregiver with Peter Rosenberger.

Some of you know the remarkable story of Peter's wife Gracie and recently Peter talk to Gracie about all the wonderful things that have emerged from her difficult journey.

Take a listen Gracie. When you envision doing a prosthetic limb outreach. Did you ever think that inmates would help you do that, not in a million years. When you go to the facility run by core civic and you see the faces of these inmates that are working on prosthetic limbs that you have helped collect from all of the country that you put out the plea for and their disassembly sell these legs like what you have your own prosody and arms and orange everything when you see all this.

What do you make me cry because I see the smiles on their faces and I know I know what it is to be locked someplace where you can't get out without somebody else allowing you to get out course, being in the hospital so much and so long and so that these men are so glad that they get to be doing as as one man said something good family with my hands.

Did you know before you became an amputee that parts of prosthetic limbs could be recycled now had no idea and I thought a peg leg. I thought of wooden legs. I never thought of titanium and carbon legs and flex feet.

The legs and all that. I never thought about that as you watch these inmates participate in something like this, knowing that there there helping other people to walk the providing the means for the supplies to get over there. What is it due to you, just on the heart level. I wish I could explain to the world.

What I see in here and I wish that I could be able to go and say the this guy right here Denise go to Africa with that. I never not feel that way out every time you know you always make me have to leave. I don't want to leave them. I feel like I'm at home with them and I feel like that we have a common bond that would've never expected that only God could put together. Now that you've had experience with it what you think of the faith-based programs. The core civic offers.

I think they're just absolutely awesome and I think every prison out there should have faith-based programs like this because the return rate of the man that are involved in this particular faith-based program and other ones like it, but I know about this one are.

It is just an amazingly low rate compared to those who don't happen and I think that that says so much that has anything to do with me just has something to do with God using somebody broken to help other broken people.
