Encouraging prayer, God offers open imitation for his people to talk with him at any time about anything encouraging prayer Dr. James Banks, author of the best-selling and many other books on prayer provides weekly biblical insight help you learn to love and valve.

I excited just fresh kind of look and phenomenally powerful way to communicate with God, I mean I guess that's called prayer Reggie what you know, sometimes I think were either talking to him or were just saying words and this is about really talking to him and so going there like ask you, you know where the first reference to prayer is in the Bible only because he tells you before you handed it to me. I know I would not of known Jennifer for 26 at that time. People began to call on the name of the Lord that that's really early in Scripture because it's actually right after Kane has has killed a bull and then another sons born to Adam and Eve in the name of Seth and then right after that it's is at that time. People began to call on the name of the Lord and that's what were going to talk about today calling on the name of the Lord. What that means. If it is simple but almost such a powerful way to pray because what you do when you call on someone's name you know when I say Robbie Roger – you're communicating with me, you are bringing me into the situation right and going directly to you and and that's what what matters so much in specifically what like us to talk about today is is calling on the name of Jesus literally praying Jesus name, not just praying in Jesus name, but let's let's kind of is, as we set this up. Talk about that for a moment.

You know sometimes when when we pray in Jesus name it. You can hear it tacked on any number of prayers almost got almost as as some kind of a magic formula you people think that that if they ask for anything that with those words in Jesus name that it will happen and what they're basing that off of is John 1413, where Jesus says whatever you ask in my name I will do. But the problem is that sometimes you hear people asking for things in his name that really are not the kind of things that he wants us to ask for no course you can even look at any number of situations.

Lord blessed me with $1 million.

In Jesus name and then people are surprised or think there is no power in Jesus name. When that prayer isn't answered. Matters praying in Jesus name is is something very different and it's it's related to calling on the name of the Lord. So praying in Jesus name Robbie if I would ask you, what does it mean what would you say in response to that as I was listening I was just excited to ship such a remarkable time in my life where I was behind my Jeep. The Jeep jamboree having just finished my chemotherapy treatments and on this Jeep came down the hill that the person left out of gear and crushed me between the two cars and while my leg collapsed actually was almost severed, and as I went to the graph. I remember very specifically going in and there was nothing behind it, other than Jesus's name because I was like I have no I am nothing here like Jesus. That's really what it means to praying listening to give ourselves up to him like Lord your way into our prayers are then for the kingdom for his way for his authority in in situations for his glory, not for our own glory were just for the fulfilling of of our wants, but also in that instance.

It was cry for help with that total dependence on him right in the beautiful thing was, he came in. I always called a Jesus hugged that heat he gave me such a piece in the middle of what was just that horrific situation and that I will never ever forget that. Hug as long as I shows the importance when you pray the name of Jesus. It's a matter of knowing him and think of the seven sons of Steve mentioned the next night. He will try to cast out demons in Jesus name and the demon response to them that you know Paul, I know I said something like you know Jesus preached by Paul knowing his name and then said Paul I know Jesus.

I know you not acting in Jesus. In that moment, but in your you were because he sure saves here and and you you know him in. In that instance the next 19 know that the demons overpowered the men and well, but in your instance. That's the beauty of calling on Jesus and why we need to do it because in the moment. It welcomes us really into his presence. If he's there for us. It just helps us be aware when you are in trouble call on the name of Jesus. You know when you want to thank him say it aloud. Say it silently when you don't know what to say enough is exactly the situation you were in that moment you didn't know what to say.

So you just Jesus, Jesus, and you need to do this if we do this over and over. It will help us stay in his presence because it just don't cause him to mind. So again it's it's all about knowing him as an balance.

That's what that does for my face to know that no matter what in the world. When I call on his name. I know you know he's given he's gonna be there for sent James could you encourage our listeners by praying the L4 for them. Along these lines years Jesus help us, we pray, help us to just call on you to just run to you again and again throughout the day. Praise you to praise it took to praise your name aloud. Silently, all Jesus loves you need you. We declare our dependence on you help us serve you.
