Pastor White was led to Christ at age fourteen by his grandfather in a Sunday morning service of the Hanes Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C. In recent years, Pastor White, sensing God's definite call to pastor, became the fifth pastor of the Freedom Baptist Church in 2010. Pastor White and his wife, Jennifer, have four boys: Isaac, Jonathan, David and Luke.

Its burial ground, God's Acre Cemetery, is located around 100 yards to the north. The church is visited by tourists and historians.
