Let's enjoy this week's Extended Edition as Dr. Davis teaches on the belief of the second coming of Jesus, sanctify my doctor, Cheryl Davison, thank you for listening to truth matters. Jesus came first as a sacrificial lamb in the form of a baby that I see on the horizon. He's coming back is arranging in Matthew 24 in the sermon on the mount, the disciples are asking Jesus where you going to restore Israel. What will the sign of your coming baby and at the end of the age in verse four, Jesus tells them, take heed that no one deceives you, for many will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled for all these things must come to pass that the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows pastors. I believe that we are in the beginning of sorrows we have seen these events play out in our media and in our world. Just recently, there are no more prophecies of the Bible that need to be fulfilled before the rapture takes place. We are on the threshold of the end of this age, pastors and members of the church body Hebrews tells us so much more as you see the Day approaching. You need to see the events of our modern society, in their true spiritual significance. Take heed to the word of God and be obedient to his calling. Do not be afraid, because the Lord does not give us a spirit of fear but of love, peace, and a sound mind. Jesus tells us in John 14 let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe also in me.

In my father's house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you if I go and prepare a place I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Where I go you know and the way you know Thomas is Lord, how do we know the way Jesus goes on in verse six to say I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me.

As you see the day approaching this world needs pastors and a strong, vibrant living and healthy church like you that will one hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering. I hope this day shows you that God is concerned with this church and its ministry is strong and of good courage choices over the last year had some difficult choices to make, have made a major step of faith to walk into ministry full time the Lord led me to resign my job as an illustrator and to step into ministry as I was making this choice and really praying and fasting around this choice, I felt the Lord speak to me about choices and like to talk to you about your choices as well as some of my choices that I've made in the past. In my research. Some sources suggest that you make about 35,000 choices per day. Assuming that most people spend around seven hours per day sleeping, and thus not make choices in their sleep. That makes roughly 2000 decisions per hour or one decision every two seconds and I know you're thinking I wonder why I'm tired all the time. When looking at where we are today and we are where we are is of a number of choices, but one in particular is that we've made the choice to persevere and to continue despite challenges that we may have faced over time. You may have faced challenges in your marriage and you chose to stay rather than go down the rate of divorce. For whatever reason you are here listening today in your in your current particular situation because of choices that you've made JK Rowling once said, it is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities up to this point and in school. In particular, we have all been assessed mainly upon our abilities. Education is designed to measure your abilities and to nurture and develop your abilities if you score well on this test, you are able to go on. If you do not score well you may not pass or you may have to remediate what I'm trying to say is that the world's determination of success is defined and determined by our abilities or students abilities. In particular, the world is trying to teach you that your abilities determine how high or how far you will go but what I want to say today really to get you to think about is, despite popular opinion, the world's determination of success is not the end-all be-all. The world does not have the final say so in your circumstances. God's determination of success is the final word. Let's turn in our Bibles to Proverbs chapter 3 verses one through four.

My son, forget not my law, but let none heart keep my commandments for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to the let not mercy and truth. Forsake the bind them around by Nick write them upon the tablet of thine heart, so shalt thou find favor in good understanding in the sight of God and man God's determination of success is the final word and is the source of truth in your circumstances, you may say how do we know that we can find this truth in the Bible. The Bible uses the word's favor and good understanding as success God's determination of success is defined by our choices.

If you make the choice to keep God's commandments and not forsake truth and mercy then you will have long life piece favor and get understanding in the sight of God and man.

If you do not hear or remember anything else that I say today, I want you to remember this, the choices that you make are the choices that make you the choices that you make reveal who you are and will determine the circumstances of your life. I want to share with you three choices that you need to make in order to live a prosperous and peaceful life. First choice choose to live your life with the blessed hope choose to live your life with the blessed hope.

The first part of Proverbs chapter 3 verse one says my son, do not forget my law, do not forget the word of God. Titus 211 to 13 tells us for the grace of God that bring it. Salvation hath appeared to all men teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lust. We should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. The first choice is the most important choice that you will ever make in your life. John 316 says that for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

That gift of salvation created a spiritual healing from the bondage of death for you and for me it also promised the blessed hope of Christ's return for his bride, the church and trusts and eternity with him by not making the choice to choose Jesus Christ as your Savior. You are forfeiting all his promises and saying I would rather go at this life with Satan instead. There is no in between. You are putting your hope in Satan to deliver you. It's not the hope itself that delivers us. It is the object of our hope.

The blessed hope of Jesus Christ is eternal life. The hope of Satan is eternal condemnation where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. What choice have you made concerning Jesus Christ and what does that reveal about. I'm glad I got you thinking choice number two choose to live your life with a sanctified mind as you can see, choice one is foundational to the other two choices by putting your faith in God. You then become the elect of God.

God is sovereign and he has a will and a plan for each and every one of us. He told Jeremiah and chapter 1 verse five before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I sanctified and I ordained you as a prophet to the nations. God has a plan for each and every one of Jeremiah 2911 for I know the plans that I have towards the plans to prosper you and not to harm you, but to give you a future and hope.

But we have our own plans. Proverbs 1921 says many are the plans in a person's heart that it is the Lord's purpose that prevails your mind will become the battleground for the enemy to try to defeat the purpose that God has for you.

By having an open mind.

You are open to the possibilities of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit having a sanctified mind you are continuously washing your mind with the word of God to defeat the enemy's attacks.

The devil will come in to create a struggle sometimes that struggle may seem unbearable, but the purpose of God and our obedience to that purpose is of far greater importance than our struggle, even if we think that our struggle is unacceptable. Second Corinthians chapter 4 verse 17 tells us for our light affliction, which is but for a moment working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

As I said before, let not mercy and truth, for safety, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Sanctify your mind with the word of God in order to win the battle. The battle is not with you is with your purpose and your destiny in God, be prepared with a sanctified mind. When the battle of the mind. If you do not, then your mind will become a stronghold of the enemy. Those that are in strongholds with the enemy will not advance.

Sanctify your mind with the word of God sanctify your mind with the word of God choose to live your life not to chase success but to chase significant choose to live your life not to chase success but to chase significance. We have been taught all our lives to chase success.

The fact that you're listening. The fact that some of your graduated from high school, college, medical school effective even achieve goals that you set for yourself. Many years ago means that a lot of you have achieved success.

A lot of us have experienced success, but success is about results and achievement, but significance is about impact long-lasting, even beyond our time here on this earth. Success can be measured, but often times significance is immeasurable.

Getting your education is success, but changing the world with. It is significant. I challenge you to not just play it safe.

Many people are successful at doing just enough and not taking any risk be impactful. I want to speak to you and to the church here today because I believe that this concept applies to all of us today. We are living in the last days we are on a tight timeline before the rapture of the church and if we are going to advance in territory. The cause of the gospel. We are going to have to take some risk. Many people that you encounter daily are broken hurting and empty Philippians chapter 2 verse three tells us that nothing be done with selfish ambition and conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Use your time wisely give more than you receive.

Use the time that you have an chase significance possess a genuine concern for the souls of others. Jesus came as a suffering servant administered only three and half years he gave his life in the end for the sins of humanity when the world looks at him he was a failure, but to us who have been redeemed.

He is the giver of life and life more abundantly. He is our rescue from bondage and the ultimate payment for our sins. Christ turned this world upside down in a short amount of time because he lived a life of significance is the life that you live successful or significant. You may never know the impact that you have but that's okay. Significance is not about keeping score or time is about the lingering effect. Don't spend your life chasing success.

Chase significance if there is anyone listening here. You're thinking I'm not what I need to be in Christ. My church is not what it needs to be.

Today is as good day is inning to be reconciled to Christ and to pray that God open your eyes to your calling as a believer that also are your calling is the role of the church.

If you examine the works of your church and feel like they are less than especially over the last two years. Pray for God to open a door for ministry that is in your area or on that is even international to where he may be able to spread the gospel matters.
