Every man his life doesn't usually feel that way. Jesus speaks of narrow gates wide roads masculine journey is filled with many twists and turns. So how do we keep from losing heart trying to find a way life feels more like a losing battle and something worth dying for, grab your gear, request your band of brothers will serve as the guides and what we call masculine journey masculine journey starts here now welcome the masculine journey we're glad you're with us today and this is the most Father's Day edition of the masculine journey and so did you guys have a good Father's Day fabulous.

Absolutely amazing. Now, as I did. It was a great weekend and good time for all this in different ways and and so this this week were going to be talking about a topic in a different way than we have in the past we took, we talked about woundedness in the past Emily Ronnie Swift talked about, and how that happens to all of this, not just once but many times throughout her life, because after all we are dealing with broken and wounded people and they tend to wound other people and so you can't get through this life without having felt that whether it be from a person with me from something that you loved that type of thing and and you talk about that woundedness morning visit that a little bit talk about the effects of that woundedness what can happen if were not careful what really happens and transpires after the wound, and some different things that can kinda come about to learn a bit more about those today and maybe invite you into going back into those winded areas and seeing if you let Jesus take you back in December that seek and see what what's happened to you during that process. Spiritual healing is sort of a series that were looking at us while Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and and what does that look like practically how do we go there with Jesus.

How do we engage in that healing and ask him to come into those areas of our life does. We clearly see sometimes that were stumbling around furniture in the darkness like what our life is that stuff really hurts and we don't understand why but really the Lord wants to come in and help us to see what hurts. Absolutely. That happens to me every night. I should probably does is it doesn't have to be dark you know of anywhere it's it's furniture is thought for me even if I don't shut the light and I understand we have this woundedness. It comes about as we talk about the spiritual healing but something that a lot of times Christians can say well you know Jesus is going to heal me. That's when I die. Now he came to bind up the brokenhearted of the day of today of every day that's offered to us while we're still here.

We don't have to wait until we die and go and be with him, or whatever your theology is on that that you know whether he's in a come down and were going to go or any of that stuff and not on my tablet. What were talking about is the healing that is available today and what happens when we won't let Jesus go there right and it's a matter of to some extent taking off the mask asking for intimacy.

The really important thing from my standpoint as I've watched and walked around folks like like Sam here, but I seen him go through breakthrough where he's gotten freedom from Jesus. In this way when he does he lights the torch for me to say wow Robby that's that's available to you to. If you'll do the hard work. Ask the Holy Spirit to say what is it that is obviously troubling you, but you don't know what it is no in and begin to pray.

What is it that I don't know. And plus my brothers have my back to help me.

Show me that is the stuff to work on in our lives but a lot of times it comes from these wounds, which is what we got, talk about some different things.

Some of the effects of the woundedness and first company uses from the Wizard of Oz and in the scene is when Toto is being taken away from Dorothy Gulch Gulch Miss Gulch, the wicked witch who later becomes a wicked witch is taking away Dorothy's dog for heaven Bittner instantly pick up the story.

Mrs. Gulch is there with Dorothy and Dorothy's aunt and uncle know all will will will will will will will will will now something remains listen to that clip, especially at the beginning with the uncle. I know Rob you are laugh about it.

You must listen to it, 15, 20 times, you may want to know me well in your lifetime. Probably about a bitter dog, you got laugh at that.

The midst of all that humor and either in there.

There's something really going on. There isn't the rubbing that there really is a good example of one of the things that we find ourselves in. In the spiritual war is called a Bitterroot judgment. What happens there and it's got a track with me her twin extent is when we judge some else, then from the measure that you judge others, it can be judge back to you so what happens is Judy Garland I camping right now Dorothy.

She judges Miss Gulch. In fact, she says you're a wicked old which when she lays out that judgment. She has now entered in the dark side so to speak, and she's now got the devil now has a foothold because she has done something judge another person which you know who knows what Miss Gulch's problems were and issues aren't that in our own lives. Even when we were younger we made judgments of our parents. We made judgments of other adults that were eating the fruit of those Bitterroot judgments. To this day because what you so you will reap and that stuff comes back in again. If you watch the movie and everybody knows that that plays out for Dorothy in that hole. She begins to read, which is like it's unbelievable the witches that she begins to reap in her life and it's interesting that she finds home it. It all has to do with heaven, and whatever but the healing has a lot to do with understanding that it was me that so that seed and now I need to be free of that. And that's where we need to. It's hard for you to kinda get your mind around this topic because it really was for me. Initially, when I heard it another way, I guess you could say that was of things happen to you repeatedly in your life you know someone always you have even wounded in the same ways over and over and over again and on talking with people you may deal with somebody that's had been really hurt by it by mail it well then, they have this expectation of it is that next person you hurt me and they tend to attract people that end up hurting them right in support of that is just bad selection, but this Bitterroot expected expectancy in almost being drawn to you right because, as you judge others eventually look back at the woundedness in the story of your life.

There's probably some pattern to that and if you keep on that pattern back. There's probably an agreement there somewhere. There's probably a judgment that that you need to go deal with Nvidia if you're okay with my ask you little bit about this is a story about a dog but not having a dog around can be very powerful when you really used to have not love, that's right. We had we still have alive but we had to give her up because the ball blindness and I guess that's the end wounded Lulu anyone. When we gave her away to my daughter to take home with us because we couldn't take care of normal.

My daughter had this whole contraption on the seat. She had a sports car that was low and the dog was having fun in the hallway we went to the restaurant we went and my daughter Rita put Orinda on this and just when the car started up the dog just turned her head up and looked at me and my wife and I could hear Tolkien daddy, what are you doing what you don't want to make just crack you know just said totally destroyed me and my wife and that they jump all looking at me. She actually turned ahead when Rita pulled away with the call and look at the caller looking at me and Nancy. You know we've been crying ever since. But the good news is that we're going to see how 4 July and I don't know if that's a good or bad, because I may just keep a that's still out there. Wonderful thing. Another another. Another thing that happened to me stop the guys when it gets to be too. I was about 16 years old and I had fairly bad eyesight you wore glasses but I could hit a fastball. I pretty good ball player. I was at the eye doctors and he examined me and did all that. Then he my mother was with me and my father and I heard them talking in the office and he was a renowned eye.the specialist and he says he'll be blind but it time he's 40.

Well, well you know what I mean.

16 and Nolan in all of this, ladies and gentlemen, I'm 84 I am blind now I have lived a good life.

The good Lord is taking care of me has moved the lamp out of the way at nighttime is moved everything out of the way and I'm still going strong and I will begin next week that he and another good start. Looking forward to that, we come back and talk about more of the effects of woundedness where the enemy really enters into take advantage and monopolize that situation and how we can go back and fight against that, even if it is in her past to come back and join us after the break.

We did visit the Wizard of Oz and I know we talked a little bit about that Bitterroot agreement Bitterroot expert expert. I can't thank you I can't say that I try it but it just doesn't basically what was Dorothy's wound in the midst of that focus on the wound is much as we are the byproducts of it that wound for her was really kind of plays out in Kenner situation wasn't robbing. She was we don't know where parents are, but she's being raised by her uncle and here's your childhood companion being taken from her, and she already is doing an orphan spirit and now it's like you know I've got to do this on my own. Somehow or another. I've got to got to straighten out the situation so she tries to take control like a lot of us do. She runs away and then in the midst of that she makes a judgment which Kenny comes back to haunt her and the rest Newmont would be a good work that happens in our life as a talk about before the break.

Just go back and look at the story of your life and see what things have been repetitive and know that there's probably an agreement or judgment.

That's in there somewhere you need Jesus to enter into and sorted talk about inviting him into that organ move on to a different type of byproduct of the wound. This is a movie from the wars at the name of Robby can you set the clip up well young boys father was in the war but now he's come home and eat, you know he is dealt without a father and all of a sudden the father shows up back on scene, but his father struggling a lot of health issues from the war and unfortunately his mother's got the worst possible news you can never tell your son I would imagine just found away from the looking down on will not you know that's a very hard to listen to what we do who show the balloon. He makes several agreements and several judgments in their know that really makes it tough, stuffy schema face for a long time, but who wouldn't get in that situation. How do you especially being young and you don't have the reasoning you don't have the this the history behind maturity veil to make good decisions. You only seen with these facts you see in front of units either black or white.

And so it's really use this dealing with some things that he doesn't have deal with and try to put his hands around it. In the midst of it comes up with these agreements is judgments made some of things I can come out of it. Is this agreement that alloys can be on my own. You know there's other thing that's nice about God and God's gonna take everything is going to continue to take and take as if you know that's what took place and or Satan has in our background and the good news is Jesus is coming to the rescue and no matter how deep and bitter.

Those wounds are, you can come into that and help reason with us, even in that young place because what I've learned is as I walk through some of these places in my own life and things I did when I was four, five, six years old was she kind of trapped yourself and the people of the time into this place and that you're still dealing with that as a little boy.

It's still a tender place and you that when somebody stirs it up in your you don't react as an adult because you still haven't dealt with it is a six-year-old or a 10-year-old or a 12-year-old, so that 12-year-old you still dealing with it that young man will be in that place until Jesus helps him walk back through that and see what he did.

If you're uncertain about that. Just what are those things that send you over the edge in this things it really just centering their rage very quickly or in severe depression where the sinks is it's probably tied around something from the past it has to go back another guys really help me in a lot of these areas but the one that I've been chasing. It's been elusive to me forever. Since this abandonment and I don't know where this fear of abandonment came in my life and my parents were together all these things for God gave me all that nugget before my mom passed away that he's helping me go after that he provide a memory for me and I said something my mom and she prayed a lot about it before she passed away.

He gave her a memory which little bit more. The story and in seeing that Jesus was in the midst of even that situation trying to give me some freedom down the road and so very great. Grateful that he's in the midst of that. Now I just need to go inviting back into it. I can one of the real key is this in that clip and its sublets in their is when the boy says what did I do to make you mad at me to cause this to happen and there is where Satan grabbed him. That's where he twisted that this is your fault. You've done something that God is mad at you and now you're gonna pay the price and he's he's got it distorted view of God. And therein lies where a lot of this for this young man is going to be a really bitter place to work through in life is nothing else he comes away from it is you can't trust the heart of God.

And it wasn't as obvious and that clip what was going on. The warfare have a clip where it is really pretty obvious. Robby tousled about this clip. Chartwell is from the lion King vary December is being tricked by his uncle*into thinking that he had something to do with his father getting crushed by the wildebeest of just crushed his father and so Sim is now coming up on his father's dad but his uncles there to twist that his weight which is a picture really is you King is still be a lie, a unit you getting here the heart of the enemy units really pretty clear that cartoon is not as clear in her life, but it happens every day doesn't really and it's a fascinating little twist that he he throws on it. That is just an absolute lie that he get Simba to buy. Now he's got this agreement, which literally change Simba's life and if he can run away. Isn't that what we all are doing all the time by creating our fig leaves. Whatever it is that were hiding and that's what Simba goes into for a good part of his life is hiding in the picture of our own lives aware were hiding from God.

From our spouses from our children. I mean that's that's where he has to send it all has to do with shame. Underneath all that is I'm I have done something I didn't measure up.

I it does play out in people's lives in me and talk about my woundedness, but you have income from molestation when I was a kid. The biggest hurdle I had to get over was forgiving myself as the enemy had made me believe that it was my fault and I been smarter had I not fallen for certain things that it wouldn't have happened to me.

You can have another people to have grace or other people.

But I could have grace for myself and that was the biggest obstacle that they really had to be broken down was that shame and that agreement was made in the forgiving of the perpetrator was long gone to forgiving myself took the longest and that may not be your story, but I promise you there's things in your story that are like that. That's where grace and knowledge that when you get a grip on how what grace really is and that Jesus paid an and still loves you in spite of Addison is a remarkable place of healing when you because that will, in my story it was the same place. That's where I can get past.

I couldn't get there's no way that I can be forgiven. Thing is, Jesus is coming after you all the time. He's trying to get your tendencies here want to help you, will you let Lisa God please come in, I invite you in, help me find these places and it's not fun to go through with the freedom on the backside of it is worth every bit of it. He wants to give you that freedom is.

He did come to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. Will you let him set you free this week, take some time in prayer with him this week to visit masking any radio.org kept coming up with some events coming up in Kernersville, men's night so go check us out.
