He's a surgeon, author, storyteller and coffee addicts. Chuck has authored several books including surrendered sleep, a biblical perspective as he stands in the one eyed monster under my bed.

He and his wife Joanna live in Texas with their five children.

He enjoys Bush hogging on his trailer being with the kids in the triple deck treehouse and watching sunset on the back porch. Dr. page. Thank you for being with us. Welcome to the care. Thank you Dr. page. I'm curious why is it that you call yourself the best guide to sin, to see on the worst ever lies.

I mean, don't we all need that you must be very popular guy. Well, love, who popularized the other guy you hope you never have to see the OP have a better short relationship with you really want me to come into your love picture probably move on so you on the job. Usually you have your bad diagnosis. Sure going to really call it what you believe he or some flesh eating bacteria, which usually the company will will bully, strange job for you to meet these people and it's it's amazing that you can inspire them when they have such difficult challenges mean sometimes you realize how easy we have with digit interest of encouraging the sick and suffering come from because I know that you wrote a book called spoonful of courage for this taken suffering into this a little bit since they come to you grave will stay. How is it that you do this think probably the other way around, probably not. What this work is about two stores are only people who have responded to their circumstances in the usual way, shows the impact it can have the post why so you become one of the many things about my job every day I get wake up and realize it could always be worse. You know and really how it helps me to be thankful but it also you know when I'm around these people stores are clearly no response. You helps me to have a little perspective on things to you something surgeon for 20 years and tell me what are your observations on faith when it comes to the effects of illnesses as opposed to not having face will first of all, you know a lot of you know, a lot of studies show that people actually have better outcomes. You know, the studies also you will only people he found the people who will actually have better survival so you know about about five course you know on this of heaven on this county, but with the people who have the best outcomes in the middle of the barrel, people who focus begin to focus without working found the courage those people who do you notice across the board. I understand perfectly what you're saying because I realize that people with states just have the same exact circumstances someone else. They seem to suffer less and give you an example.

Not very long ago if I saw on TV that this spiritual family. Somebody had killed their daughter and I was content county jail again except this is God's will on guns like thing and they were given because the except it is God's will suffering. Like most of us do well realize the persons in a better place and person in that place doesn't want us suffering. I passively had on web left behind to suffer so to get this greater understanding of things and and this just when it comes to mental illnesses and it's it's been amazing because the power the mind is really something amazing. I know that I saw on Facebook this guy. He had been emotionally abused as a kid, or if you think that your condition controls you think the iPad is just a matter of reprogramming your brain not to believe the negativity and I do believe that you have better outcomes. If you believe you can get better rather than give up and have a defeatist attitude thinking this is the end. What can you tell me about a lot of you know you mean sometimes faith is believing possible believing that God can do the impossible and people is also every Friday for God is all one possible book is about a girl you graduated from college and had a close call Rick we could do.

Dying before our family know four hours ago out of functional daughter was going to go to medical school and family know they have all gathered in the girls crashing like so: not, and all the world you girls really, truly quickly. The grandmother asked me to come in, join the circle. Wonder if she going his grandma played.

Thank you God she's perfect, "when looked at the girl you know you pulled from a blind above her blood pressure was crushing and in my mind I thought this and pray that God she's perfect. You know you realize that grandmother was no one takes a lot of fight in the middle of something with your grandpa granddaughter dying before that, we can't put a formula, but we do know that God is there so many different things means no fight believe the impossible love missionaries in Kenya. There are some of my heroes and one obstetrician and the other was a very real diagnosed with breast cancer medicine man adopted for kids and you know and it was you know what the next was after supporter of the go back know Kim Cantor. She's a good marketer. Kitchens patriarchy is solid looking outward looking young words of God miraculously now 14 years later she had a recurrence know just realizing cancer so no faith has a lot of different fire so often we come into no cross and fixated on the so now, we expect often draw the doesn't always answer our prayers. The way that we want no notice malpractice with patients is that the fight involves a relationship's yes it is true and I read it in different places and Facebook's miracles do happen. My daughter is an example of the miracle she was almost killed in a 24 day, she was supposed to live. She's a file I was ready to accept God's will, whatever has because I want to be that person. I want to be that person that Truscott blindly even when I can't see what's going on, or I don't understand. I want to accept the fact I mean, I knew the fact that God is in control and my own will. I can go either way. But ultimately what I think it is amazing to hear because we were going through that situation together with Damien. I was seeing her as a medical doctor condition was totally Bob was look losing faith truly amazing quality. A doctrine of your guys often in these situations. Please overwhelm us, one of the focuses of this book is not only important but put in the proper perspective we have to take it back and you know and feel alone you feel inadequate to face whatever challenges the barn from others confusion. A lot happened to me while God want now somebody else you know Scripture monitors that were not alone.

But Jesus promised to never leave us or for psychics, you know, we have the Holy Spirit to goddess so never alone, you know, in whatever circumstance we face. God will give us no to be able to manage whatever comes our way delivers wills and powers to do what we need to do well for a reason God has to specific plan for each and every one of us gave us all to think just to get you when you needed ID believe that there is also talk times evil and he you know that cats in the way sometimes and sometimes he can feel alone. A lot of things can go wrong and we can feel like were down in the dumps and was just like God is not here exactly that God is always the most pressing and for this routine is listening to secure capital, where focusing on being on our faith. We are just joined by Charles page Dr. Charles page and sometimes what I was say Dr. can feel a number like now we continue with Amy, and 280 just how well they care if this is your first time today were joined by Dr. Charles page talking about the essence to pay any habits or characteristics of those seem to thrive despite their serious health challenges will focus on people often you think that God, family, and all those for lockup people. Other people stories my mother Barbara about a blog about five years ago and never smoked, called all the doctors and call you where one person futures surgeon problems not become a mother helpless and hopeless and probably find it, borscht belt, know your daughter. But along and locally for quite a while. How could someone no time to go God that was like she was going to go green always play in the mother capital really didn't think about yourself, you will bury person and when Catherine found out about my mother who had lung cancer have a conversation with the clinic was never better sales was always about her mother. She was always my mother telling me know how she was praying for my mother about, but we love can't deliver papers because Bob Landon cost should be planned for.

My mother called and much for me. The person dying of cancer and she was really concerned about herself and you do shareholder perspective of what it means to be healthy, but no and after she sometimes my mother know that every year hope to bring me, mommy.

Think about how she. Our focus was not on herself and operations will most healthy people you know it's funny how that is. I guess what typically think about. He'll know if someone definitely cease. Sometimes it's absolutely absolute so you think that's a huge three know people who talk about the different spice Microsoft class matter. I was trying to get home to my family and it was light and I had to go in for reason. We frequent flyer hospital for several things in this, getting closer Tom and she had a tracheostomy notions about out of it. Now I would not pull tracheostomy so we could probably put on machine later expected to be no ventilated proclamation.

She will call back up with the right to be your doctor would you pray for me. You know, and I realized that she did try class not she should not do well. I will know well that was a pretty cool thing to be able to share that with her be able to play for her. That evening he loves. Lastly, a margin God's will to get home. My patients is always thinking about somebody else and not really helps you as a healthcare provider you know we said, example net model. It encourages us to. It really is. These people because you have to cease. You cannot seal your ceiling in a mostly physical illnesses, which has a science to faith. Faith does not have signs in many ways it's healed. You learned from your patients. It's not like lessons so that you perspective in life and may have even helped you in some ways and that's an interesting help people. This, it ends up helping us as well. And that's amazing and I wanted to ask you because you've given different parks – something that I'm very interested in one of the books that you wrote about was the importance of sleep how important it is to have proper sleep and I know some of us even though we are doing well for the most part, we have nightmares In sweats and you can control the way that you think time the day and you can take that's nonsense. That's just people lying to me I'm lying to myself or I can reprogram I can think better, you can do about scheduling sleeping so highly correct sleep if it's so important it's beyond your control box.

There's a lot of different dynamics.

Please my book talks about is where is God in all this, we don't typically think of God in the equation Scriptures remind sleep with God love you create sleep and so often nothing for most of us. The problems we have sleeping things that we complement ourselves and have lost out know for some peeps. Many people it's trying to go to sleep in the same way that listed still in the bed know, keeps us up and keeps his word keeps us occupied know on the other hand was all these lifestyle issues you know are often you know what you know, the fact it was not active, exercising is margin… All those things. So what this, those take a step back. Okay where is God is funny.

You can even go, reading the Genesis story about this interesting play services evening in the morning were the first day no, the Scripture start out that your practice started out with some down and we were through society.

The day starts.

We get up. The difference is you know, for the Hebrews. The biblical perspective is that you know you really start your day. You know with trusting God and you were just dropped you want to get up and go.

And so the structure that held God God and then sleep, completing only sometimes different attitudes, others calm all work Scriptures and God helps us to go to sleep a little bison DIFFERENT circumstances allows the nurse is also comes from God you a message to tell you know that pops, you know, I'm a big believer that that's often God speaking trying to get our attention because we believe that I really know God's voice was gender to listen to what God is planes and I was reading because I'm interested in meeting information that's interesting about being about the same title Satan and one and says that if you have nightmares to wake up in the design of the cross and go back to sleep and sometimes, but yes, I am just saying though it can be difficult and also you will in your book. You also wrote a book called spoonful of courage for the sick and suffering and what's what difference can spoonful of courage for the sick and suffering making the lives of those going to an illness.

What's your idea spoonful of carriage that we focused you know so often in law circumstances, we lose we lose focus become distracted by whatever difficulties you lot giving healthcare crosses cancer problems sleeping, and we lose focus you store this conclusion very hereby knows the score that when Peter walked on water.

You know what he did, prologue was walking with Jesus needing sign is no knowing Jesus got it back in about your paper what you lose your faith because you strike about the wife storm losses focusing losses five seeking God first before I had faith in myself. And yes, my life was very stormy and it was like a house that God is intimating like he made a beautiful sale and this is steamy, love is the answer. God is the key word reveals from a very sincere and honest position. Amy Carbo's life, a warrior who didn't give up and achieve the dream of her life.

No medication treatment neurosciences medical clinic call now 786-600-7005 neurosciences medical clinic 786 600-700-5786 600-7005 and now we continue with Amy Carbo in the 218 80 yeah what about library Friday at 2 PM radio Amy.com we are doing today Dr. Charles P. Dr. Morrison, and that the Chesapeake is the author of carriage dictates what is the single most important idea that you would like to share with us about a spoonful of carriage change in focus focusing on feelings and having fact having faith in the fact that drivers for another website mentioned earlier just looking loading to look up difficult times takes difficult circumstances looking upward.

Instead of looking, probably one of the greatest things to think about when we go to supper.

No realize the opportunities that suffering brings you so often we look at the difficult circumstances the playing field across all opportunities.

No personal we have an opportunity to grow into mature you know you difficult time. You know that you've been through some difficult times, and you live. You know times. One of those things help us to grow up another things just know that we have opportunity to influence other people talk about so often because of our experience and we have a different set of personal experience that we can blame you to help people you know me so much the people, so does opportunity influence and none of us would like to go to have an account. You know yet on the other side of that there are good things it comes to come out from a Christian perspective. You know there's always an opportunity to see what you know in a growing relationship with God know it's funny, I've noticed people will go to seven. Those people just seems like the relationship with God is almost palpable.

It's not theoretical, very personal relationship and those people have learned intimacy in the midst of their suffering so softly we don't think about those things but there is a real place they can keep us going difficult challenge is amazing because very few surgeons seen talk like you sure that's the right refresh. I'm in the Rye specialty board that's great that's great I'm impressive really because this is how things are supposed to be done on me some ideas.

Grace and suffering that is grace and pain because the mental suffering.

If you can reprogram your brain and just learn to think differently you can have brakes. You can even go through. My mother had depressive episodes happen at all. Again, when you have a physical ailment. Like for example I didn't know 50% of women get arthritis is what I found out and down in the Raja cell.

This is something that really nothing can be done.

There's no medication there's no cure. So I I heard or read somewhere that to do everything for the glory of God. So even if the ditch were even exercising and if you going to paint for the glory of God or for the conversion of sinners has been suffering for whatever since my daughter may do in the future know and so that's how I justify it to her unwilling to accept it. In fact, I'm grateful for it that I'm doing something good and that's how I changed my brain. You know so much of beyond even the natural mind and the natural where it goes beyond that. Know that God actually is. Living allows you working with notebooks, along with his help was absolutely amazed way we look at our circumstances all the different people think that something is released. For example, people say oh you think this online since it was a long time. Yes, the nuns told me the story of Job I that okay and want to live questioned why didn't have to take so long to take me that long to grow up. God while locked down why we really you know God, my scenes or something and said that the scene really went through a lot of trouble with evil but the devil went and said God, you know what it is long. Why did I suffer up until now, and he says a masterpiece. Next time and artwork that what a great way to the wall. Go to God always answered, but I understand from long time. I say wait 25 years just really need to do more more things like burying the medicine because you just so we need to have God in our lives not only medicine but does this is gonna feel like all over the place.

Things are going weird like I never said the cross would not be happy and just thinking the people I like not be living so much is like and who are we to think that we're better than God, that he could take the cross-linking with anything and he was the king he was up and he is all-powerful, so if seeking sacrifice his life. Are we so that we are so unworthy, what makes us think we should suffer the same path. So what makes is better. What makes excellent so I don't expect never to suffer. I expect to be stuffing something and if I'm not giving anything I'm doing something wrong close to apostle where you are you close to apostle and the judges whatever engines did you cope with no all of this really happening.

It's funny, soft, thinking about land.

No evil of someone for what ever reason. It's really sad. People you know we do crazy society and you know I wish I had all the answers for everything I do know that as a physician, you know what I've been learning literatures that you know if I'm not sure enough, I put people I might not be giving them everything they need to have a good outcome always like to share my faith with him if we could have a conversation you don't be surprised if people want to have conversation about spiritual pleasure is a challenge to all listeners.

Somebody next to have a conversation about faith and maybe will spur the things because if you do have got a know life wouldn't do this person said they far from home. Look at my daughter.

For example, she depends on the psychic and I said okay the psychology with her because she's really really like convinced and I said okay well I have God he's free and comes around 93. I'm sorry you have to pay for yours. They here is a lot in there is a lot of anger and hatred, worry and stress and anger is all things that are evil and I believe that love is the answer for everything that you only care the greatest expression of love. We could ever understand that kind of love, no yes and that's really the answer really really believe I would like if there's not a political answer for this. You know, Mossad, you're gonna really just individuals expressing love. Love is really what's going to Mike right, I wonder about that young fellow you know El Paso know what was his home life locket.

Maybe there could've been somebody could have intervened his laughter just because you will talk to Mary about a world of difference.

No right side we will never know what we don't fail to do and we are and then and then there's the other thing some people I just aren't there mentally sick.

You know which 1 Comes Your Way. That we have our faith and not afraid of death if they should visit me Dave they should, I accept God's will have it comes to that point in my life that I trust God in everything and I'm so happy that these days I worry. I'm grateful every day I talk. I think you every day that I don't worry is that that so many things that most of us take for granted that think it's a normal everyday thing to me.

Big deal because I no longer go to depressive episodes. I know what it's like to be on the other side. I know what it's like to suffer deeply. I know what it's like to give up hope and feel like there's nothing left. I know what that's like, that I've gotten to the throughout my life I have always tried to click stay close to God except I believe I enough it wasn't just prayer that had to do with my actions to be followed by actions. It had to be followed by a believe system and it took a while, and it's a it takes a long time. Just don't give up.
