Amazing Roy how fast the week goes really is and how fast that last show. If you recall, we are close. You could throw swings at USF weaving hard to get into the second second version the second week with those of how to read the Bible and we did get three daily part of the way, exactly, and you not want to you when you approach the Bible there certain questions that I think you should ask yourself one is what is the main point of the passage that you're reading. What is the thought of the parallel passage, or the one before it and the one after it and then if you if you have any obstacles that you see in your understanding of a particular passage or passage is what are those obstacles that you need to overcome. You need to write them down and identify them and then if is there any type of potential application that you can pull from the passage to apply to your life because ultimately Roy when you study it's all about changing your life. So if you reading the word of God in your life never get change in or that say way dismisses passing through right and you're not committed that we would be my second thought that a person should say were my really committed to this thing called fall Christ because it is not change you knew not change and then you got ask yourself that request absolutely musters about this walk in the answer in the which of your points were very good, because as we move down this path.

Over the next several weeks we can talk about the need for journaling and that sort of thing, or maybe executable bit to David and also that drilling process would be that very thing was the application what the house supplied me with the overall theme those types of things which will help share good guidance with folks at listings well so yet another point number two and will get through this and takes more from the wills how to teach the Bible study with a set of regular reading time is in the dark places. It's really important set that same time in the in any it correlates to the other section 106, but is a set writer Tom need every day writing somewhat within a few minutes of the reckless lunch or dinner, so there's no different feeding the soul here so you should be very very disciplined about setting that regular time that day, and I think what what Dr. LaHaye his intent there is to be consistent.

That's the thing. So if you if you if you consistent in your reading and you say hey you know at this time I normally eat. So at this time I'm ready to study the word of God that I think that'll that'll keep you on track right in this book was built around total three year program so it's got it lays out for you is very rare simply but very effectively. One of things he says he will go to that point is spent 15 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of studying each day over three year.

That's what this lead you towards that for two minutes reading and study about torture.

Talk about meditating on what is going to try and speak to you about with the overall theme is how can comply with applicable human life in this particular Scripture them study absolutely because you know all Scripture according to second Timothy 315 all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reprove correction instruction in righteousness, that the man of God will be mature or perfect, thoroughly furnished and to all good works of God is saying I'm going to cover you completely. You are not going to lack for anything thing a man went and when you get into my word and you allow my word to permeate the mind and penetrate the heart a man who I like that permeate and penetrate the words will get out here not doing so good out of folks is coming off memory because your warning of stress that before God is blessed in the way he distorts the Rolodex in front of his eyes. Clicking links in Scripture to come out.

So it's quite impressive.

Good job. My brother, so three set a regular place to do your study and we set a regular place and we talked about that last time Roy because you want a place to where you not going to be interrupted. No distraction.

No distractions. And so you can completely concentrate on the spirit of God as he speaking to you through your reading and I and I might add, throw this in here Roy because I know we probably talk about this later on is when you study there's two pieces of literature if you if you will that you need to have in your possession.

One is you need to have a very good concordance. That's number one and number two. The other thing you need to have is a good Hebrew and Greek dictionary. So you need to have a good concordance and you need to have a have a good Hebrew and Bible Hebrew and Greek dictionary good advice and number four read with a pencil in hand. Peers are great on the CIs light up just the best way to doll your brain into a robot vital attitude is the pick up a pencil and be ready to receive a message from God that very act makes you more alert and expected that God will communicate something to you today which you need and you Dr. Leis does a great job making it very very understandable why these things are so important and say you can't remember everything that's the thing about it in you have to record things you have to make notes and I think if you go to your local house of worship and you don't have some type of paddle pan or if you not using your phone or you have in some type of iPad or even a minicomputer that you take with you, then you are not doing yourself justice when it comes to completely understanding what you heard. Because you're not going to remember everything you heard and there's things that when you go back and you you take notes because what I do. Roy is just, scribble down our points in a message right then I go back and organize those things. So I so is just not scribble you know I'm making a making notes and then I go back and SLK this this this is organize an end and then I may even add some of the highlights some of the points to that. Well that's great, great observation will and and I like to approach in your discipline, the other the same thing Sunday morning. Some concerns all have a journal and all just a good header who the speaker is in the stormy conference and then I'll write all the Scriptures down.

This reference is given in the occipital square box around Scriptures so please jump out and go back and review notes later when things Dr. LaHaye says here as well will in this read with pencil and is that when you see some special in your reading right now. Not only does it record for him to review the future but it helps to submit thought more forcibly into your brain. We all know that when you write something, hands eat, for whatever reason seems to be easier. Remember the spirit and move on to absolutely think it's the rep the repetition that helps make that Morse solidified and you know not unless I Roy you know when people learn languages you know they always say you know I can write it better than I can speak it in MS because the visual the visual nature of it when you see something you have it, tendency to understand what it is when you see it rather than when you hear why because someone may be speaking in some other different type of dialect you know than when you when you learned it. That particular language or your learning a new language so you and you might hear a word and then you hear differently over here, but because the dialects are different. You say whoa what is this word and so then you go to speak it back to the person and you might be saying something that's not appropriate to them because you misinterpreted Udo how the word supposed allow the user to hire so number five read devotional. The Bible is a living book written by a loving God to his children and is profitable in a provides basic principles God's and inspirational how to live. It was written to people because human nature hasn't changed in the years since trying it has a message from God's people today, more than a message. However, the Bible is true, so food and this is a point when you go to the Scripture and you start reading.

Just ask yourself again some basic question who was speaking. Who are they speaking to. What's the purpose behind why they're saying what they're saying and then one week, tendency to forget is the dispensation of peace because there are a lot of things that God spoke to the children of Israel under the dispensation of the law and I think sometimes we allow ourselves to get confuse when we take certain things that God spoke specifically to the children of Israel, and we try to bring them into the New Testament and apply them to our life.

That's not to say that certain applications you can make from that. But when you look at the Scripture directly and you say God spoke that to the children of Israel that was meant for me to we have to be careful about that and out because again we are we are we are attempting to force something to apply under this dispensation of grace, its goodwill number six keep a spiritual diary or journal you're thinking today. Stearns maybe journal might be worth more people refer to source can become a cool on the next second half your will talk about what needs to be included in spiritual diary will you know this is really a folks, if you're if you're listening again, we're just encouraging start getting the word every day regular time regular place in a regular quality time terms amount of time at least 15 minutes to read 15 minutes to study and then we'll talk about what you put in your journal as we move forward to that. In just a few moments, but it will make you a better man and as we have been study and maximizing manhood. It will, it will maximize your reading and your studying. When you let God bless you and see you have to look this is why you hear me say it a lot.

Let God because God is like and force himself on you. You have to let him do because even though he can. He's not going to do it that the trees were in the garden of Eden and God didn't force them to take a bite of the forbidden fruit. It was there and he said if you love me you don't obey me and so they show their love for him by disobeying what he said so they they God we love you enough that we want to disobey you in need of this book with fruit and and see this is not love God wanted their love and he wanted there devotion he needed because he is love that he shows us how to ladies if you listen you know what the result was with what you have to go through the will be right back with you to your CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship after the best breakfast in town meeting location is at their voracious poster First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Welcome back to man talk radio report to the Bible as we were closing out for breaker talk about keeping spiritual diary or journal and the need for that because it's good place to reflect replace the take your thoughts as a pop in your mind again because you probably go to build a little bit of schedule based on your plan for your day using opportunity come back and review what you studied in the morning or the next day that you had the night before that sort of thing so Willis talk about little bit what should be included in spiritual diary or journal in the sum of things regarding talk about in the last week and this week is what was God's message to you today is to be the first thing is you is you reflecting on your study, what was the promise from God.

Number two should be something that's got the if there was a promise from God and that particular Scripture reading and then the third what's the number three as part of the Scriptures was the command to keep what is the command queue.

Should you want to elaborate a little, but will you promise from God. The God's message today in the command to keep what you know. I think that third when a command to keep is I would look at that.

Also in the opposite sense and say depending on where your reading in the Scripture if you're reading the historical Old Testament and you see how God started to deal with the children of Israel because of disobedience because of their error. So now you can say what error should I avoid so it's almost like flipping a thing around and saying okay I'm reading here in the old covenant. You know how how disobedient the children of Israel.

What I want to go down that road. So in a course we know the Old Testament was written for our learning the word of God says in our admonition, so what point we living in this under this dispensation of grace.

We understand that when a person comes to the word of God again, these messages of recording and letting God bless you to look for. Look for an application just as soon you know because there's going to be commands.

There's going to be promises that mess was supported. Pray before you start. Absolutely fantastic. Do those things to about the person wheeled its listings as we I am covered by the bullet, this is New Testament. You don't really need obeying the commands well to him. I would say where you were getting your studying from is you need to go back and really make an assessment because when the word of God is specific is clear and even a child can understand it an end in Jesus made the point when the disciples started rebuking the kids and Jesus said, you know that Lee let him alone, but except you, as a little child you not get into the kingdom. There is no way you gonna you going to enter into what he saying is you need to come as a child will be absolutely because when a child is is young you know and you say hey you know you and you brought them up in the right way, don't do this don't do that they and you explain to them why you don't do that and you know those things are start sinking in, but somebody probably listening to me and Sam passed and Armando my boy or girl when I tell them no do that. They didn't do it anywhere you know what I do about them. Well, that's another topic for another day. I lay the phones ring. I think it's her daughter and grandchildren that that and then number four Tom Spence what is the time was the Thomas principal that he showing your study number five. Your application on about how how do I apply this what God is revealed to me, so I think that's important, but to wills point earlier visit you not putting it into into action that is fallen on deaf heart, deaf mind, their fears right to slowly Passover, especially back to Dr. Hayes commentary earlier was that your human nature, human nature that was exchanged over the last 2000 years just been our environment and our toys.

If you will. The human still human, absolutely not rotten to the core until until the fall gets a hold of the strike pasta or just boards. That's who we are and and man man.

I think some man I think they just don't want to change. You know, because they want to shift the responsibilities of maybe some of things is happening in their life they want to shift those responsibilities to someone else and say oh it's all my wife's fault is you know what we tried to us and we tried that and she won't listen to me and things like that intimate when I hear that from an individual. If you say okay have you look at this a.m. we looked at this already pastor and you know she's she just don't want to change. You just don't listen but it's all she she she not leaving that exactly and say so where what role do you play a map because you know as the old whirly proverbial saying goes, it takes two to tango. Yeah I just had a conversation with someone that takes to dance with you having troubles or things are in total bliss, right. So you've got to have ownership know 1 Might Be Way little bit more than the other based on certain things are certain actions. But it does take to dance absolutely so now Dr. Leigh finishes this particular chapter and folks again all credit to Dr. LaHaye.

This is how to study the Bible for yourself by Tim way and then past wills been quoting from his resources How to study and teach the Bible by Elmer towns ceramic sugar proper credit.

These are good solid principles and the reasons for keeping spiritual diary journal number 1.places. It provides a handy method for recording special daily insight God's will and talk about handy method.

So number two it produces an attitude of expectancy. This goes back to what you were talking about you putting the word in your mind, heart, and you're expecting what God's going to do because reading about promises really runs his armor's protection and watch over us and how is going to take us through everything absolutely and then number three provides a handy check on regularity. Yeah so what what it does this, it's ensuring that you're doing those things that you say that you going to do or as a representative of God there are things that I should be doing in my daily walk anyway and if I'm not doing those things. Then again the word of God and the spirit of God is going to come in correct you on some of those things he's gone chasing you and if you don't listen to that chastisement because again he is chasing you because he loves you. So if we don't listen to that is going to come a little bit harder and a little bit harder. And then we again we going to go back and ask thyself? We talked about last week. Roy is why these things happen to me Lord when I'm doing those things that you call for me to do.

I'm going to your house of worship. I'm listening to the word I'm giving up my tide and offering because remember now, we don't pay our ties. We give our tithes to get back absolutely me and Pres. belong to us in LNS. That's part of the prayer that God had blessed me to incorporate when it comes time to take up offerings in the church, God blessed me to pray. Thank you God for giving us the opportunity to give back unto you, that which doesn't belong to us that with your blog is unloaded I was and also the regularities of rising handy check regularity will let to if you're looking for you maybe think William read the Bible regularly through majority, but if you did the month go back and look through journaling and you get three or four day gaps every week and there than you really not been consistent, and I can't remember the statistics that it was I think it's if a person is reading and studying for days or more, that there their life, their impact in the King kingdom walk was just exponential to compare to the person who was 1 to 3 days. So basically one to three days is a mess for days and or more as we start start getting run around the bases will start really achieving something in terms your knowledge and your growth and in your closeness with the father really is a good good good tools good points and letting here.

It provides a handy reviews we talked about for what you write it down better chance locking into memory. Second, you get test go back and look it up if you miss something of substance on your heart that I have ever heard that last week you need to go back have a quick reference no. And so you meditate on it and again meditation on in the course when I trump time on any transcendental meditation we talk about meditating because the word of God because for us to meditate on the word of God. So that's keeping the word of God in our heart and mind. And as as I go through the day. I look for opportunities to say, Lord, how can I use this 1 to 3 verses that you allow me to put into my spirit. How can I I look for opportunities. I just don't say okay let the opportunity come, but I look for them and see them and I think what what that does is it says you putting so much importance on the word that God is going to bring someone into your pathway to where these verses of Scripture can now be applied and this is exactly what they need and what they been going through something and all of a sudden you come you speak the word of God, to them and comfort them with the word of God because same time perfect place. That's when you speak it when you speak it. God said I'm going to honor it. And as Numbers 2319 and Isaiah 5511, he said if it when I say speak, something is going to go out and is going to accomplish that which I have set forth it to do next were God great word will finally, it provides an easy appraisal spiritual growth while suffused look at the start of your journaling and then diary them by the middle of the and you should see your thoughts getting deeper your heart more reflected in your words and studying. So that's good. So we will go back and just couldn't do a quick mirror back here as we started last week about the how to study the Bible. So let's talk will quick your will fuse more don't mind. No, go ahead and what we will do what what the Bible study will do for you first point made last week you will make you strong Christian.
