This is the Truth Network welcome to mannitol and brought to you by TA W. CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they're devoted to breaking down the walls of race, age, and challenging and to take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior a black eye and a white welcome to man talk radio white guy we've got the Duane Kennedy today for bridging the gap and it also like inclined a pastor of Christ with the church and drink from Jim welcome back going well. I got a minute read and good how you have both you guys back.

You both know before so you folks. We know this is going to be a true conversation today in that we just going to talk to next two shows about what's going on in our society how it's impacting pastors house impacting us as men. And we know that many people experience a lot of different emotions a lot of different effects as a result of what's happening in the pandemic social unrest. The political environment.

When I get in all the politics and a list of wisdom talk about was doing to us as a spiritual warrior and how we need to combat that and get out of the falcon and as we've been coining the phrase of last couple days. We need to start leading not lagging in our walk with Christ. A man.

So hey let's list just open it up.q. I'll start with you, just as your mentoring and passing over church right now. Why don't you tell me, tell the audience and would like to steer and talk through you what what has been your greatest learning over the last 12 months and what is been one of the most difficult parts of the last 12 months remaining good question of learning all learning how specially the last month that was a lot of that deal with it last year.

Deal with it. If it came to you, but now that almost a year.

In all, and results are very real result. Now having to do with our own perspectives and feelings of pain while utilizing a loss estimate for the lost business greatest business. Bête noire of MY fair and you will I do with that.

And so one of the things of today: though there's a real effort. One thing the morning have to be this can't be created and spilled out to any kind you start wondering about what I've lost. You need to stop right there, can't let opening day of life care little I have in front of the boat worked like you have to do with who are the people that I need to love who are the people that I still have the right are looking to me for 04. The people that I've been pouring into and despitefully and got it built to get your mind off of not what you lost this letter. Dear but what you have and anything that that's the process that I think almost at the daily and in Lincoln. I will also stated that multiple where to Talk you a little bit about.

It's very easy to feel like you're alone and you're the only one experiencing that I know there are probably tens of thousands of pastors in our country that are dealing with a lot of the things dealing with a lot of the things question and though we talked about Elijah feeling pretty beat up more now, and lonely up on the mountain and have a conversation with God and any good, you doctors did. Now I'm the only one, but him that wasn't true God of their most preferred about the bike to be voices to go, but I do think that one of the things were learning the home will not allow in a gavel catalog and figure out whether, oh what are these look like.

What we going to skin pastor Duane, how about you last 12 months.

In the course during our talk a little bit before the show started.

He's got big smiles that he's maybe one of the minorities relates to his impactor. What's impacting him of last 12 months what you know it's it's it's funny what life is about when when the. The lockdown kicked in in in 2020. You know you guys came over to where I was at CP because I was already living that type of life isolated life. I will go and do what I have to do ministry and out the streets and all that stuff but I will spend a lot of time in prayer at home and relax in it. You know I mean I have my people come over and I go visit my family. Things like that but you guys came over to where I was at sea, so I was you know I was already in the shut down mold right but but what I seen through this whole situation for me it it it was it was the Lord pulling cheers away from the table because I seemed flawless.

I seen a lot of Christians that I held in great standards that their thinking is more or less like they didn't even have the same values as Christ. It didn't have the same morals as Christ it seesaws like well you know the Bible says you know when and how we should do when we act. So I think it was all about a great pulling away cheers from the table that that's what that's what it stand stood out for me and in me myself and of course I pray for folks not to pray for encouragement and encourage people, but this is that this is the individual walk. It is now is an individual relationship and and and we have to perfect our relationship with with Christ I'm an Indo get me wrong, I know some people are really experience hardship in the Bible prepares us for that we know is going to come to death but but when I met now I look at Scripture and I see the book of Revelation and look at the seventh church. The seventh church. It represents well is the lukewarm church and the lukewarm church is seen as seen that a lot. It's a lot of lukewarm Christians. That's not following Christ to the letter and and I'm not talking about I'm just about principles. You know, so I see I seen it as it is a great falling away. I at the descriptor that he use I love the Scripture about Elijah because the art of the Bible says that… All the noise. He said he set up.

It was a great blend was a great five earthquake and all the stuff got what they noted, it, but that came with the still small voice. He was, you know, sometimes we need to the chaos to get out to remove myself from the chaos in the drama just would get alone to hear God's small voice to me that's really good really good doing what and when I think about the other the fires the earthquakes and all that sort of thing. If you think of it in today's time. Where is all that noise coming from you and what's distracting us and cannot talk about this person think maybe you and I talked with us to Duane is that it said will use every every conceivable tool in the kit and we have given him one of the greatest tools available Bob these smart phones and that becomes the noise if you listen to people and him and if it goes from Facebook to any Instagram tick-tock all these different things that occupy people's minds and you're there you go, but Romans 12 it talks about the renewing of the mind, which is a daily process right and everybody so locked into the cell phones not in all these different accounts and all this different noise. You could equate to and parallel to natural disasters in the old old times right because that would've taken the person's focus off of the quiet still voice of God in this same thing is happening today. We got natural disasters.

Of course, but were talking about the constant the constant attack is coming in people and then what did and then this take a step further is also pastors your sources. Take a step further is that not only is that an distraction, but it becomes also a whip and stick if you will because people get on social media and it's amazing how big and strong and powerful people are with us at monarchy in order to follow me. Oh yeah and so you know so I can say everything will to about your or comment on negative, it doesn't matter what it is tablet keyboard thanks to CA that I guess I like an eternity for gangsters so folks you listen to this were talking to each other and talking and sharing with you that. Let's take a moment Paul's is a couple things I think right away. We need to take out of this is that first work pastor Ken said this, be thankful for what we have, not what we lost in part of that losing could be printing right or that losing could be burning which then prepares you for new growth into your point Duane is that you know this calling out if you will's taken seats away from the table and we know how the father feels about lukewarmness and this could've been the great purge if you will of the body because people have used to church on Sunday is check a box and we know that we've seen that we witnessed it and you are our motto is Monday through Saturday face and looked no different than your Sunday face and so I think that's part of what's going on so careless come back to you and let's just talk straightahead about some the struggles within your church.

You know you are what you think you'd coined the phrase you're very Mosaic church which is aptly describing the makeup a mix of your church and had what 16 or 20 different nationalities in the church may have another little bit often, and of all walks of life financially and set it even currently think up until this last few months has many as six former pastors that were attending because of the draw of just come as you are. If you will secure. Let's talk a little about that. So what what what have been some of the other struggles and having such a solid foundation in what is pandemic in people's fears and in the that the argument wearing a mask or not wearing a mask is done to your church here about ridiculous wars that they can play strong swords against each other. I think you were there? But probably the hardest thing about lab really the last couple months has been infallibly Duane talked about the traders that the table of one of the been removed were the ones I did not think I would leave all or just go straight or freak out workers into losing to a degree when given the backspin of our because over some of the people about living be the strongest warriors stating weirdly leading the way home help in providing hope and stuff but they're the ones that characterize the political situation in the unrest there.

So much so that they couldn't find God in it anymore and I don't know if the come back home go up. You don't give up the golf agreement and other not communicating anymore so therefore. But those are those not print the member core temperature and so that's one of the affected papers. I think go member the phone from Cindy Lopez many years ago through color if interesting to me, but I think one of the things that testing going Turley saluted that through color. The coming-out that's a good point. You know that's what is it when tough gets the going gets tough the tough get going so I think that's merely starting to start separate the men from the boys if you will folks help me write a backhoe that talking and we got take a quick break and be right with you T a W CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship. After that fast breakfast in town meeting location is in their voracious posterior First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Main St. encouraged him a hard start at 7 o'clock on a hard stop at 8 o'clock.

Remember, affordable chiropractic on the W. Lexington Ave. in High Point Hall 336-885-1987. Welcome back to man's operator with this before the break room talk about. This may be, is what kittens talk about surprises of the tears that she slid away from the table. In the end I think maybe that comes back to some spiritual maturity would be the first thing that comes to mind right so they're not really spiritually grounded in mature and understand the persecution and storms are going to go through and they get distracted with social issues get distracted with political issues and the unrest and things rather than staying kingdom focused and look at things the eyes of the Bible and the God it's Satan got another opportunity pull people away and were talk about maybe separating the men from the boys and only met in a derogatory sense of it, but from a maturity standpoint is that the people that are more mature. The walk will stay more anchored.

Not that they don't sway me.

It does happen you get you get in the windstorm and it moves around a little bit but that's when you plant down harder take a little bit lower profile deeper in the word more prayer time morphed talking with God, and most importantly, more more listening right so Duane looks and can't hold that because this come back to that just a moment, I will circle back to that and what age group was impossibly think about what age group you can in the demographics of of that is, it was a one group. It was across all all difference groups and will talk to that moment. So Duane is you are out and about some of because I was you been living little bit more secluded if you will, based on what you see is this, you have big :-) we talk about a beat. Welcome the outcome of my salad to go with you.

It's been a heart for those of their extroverts to really come over to your side to be quite lesbian out. I love it out and about, but you know that there is a time for everything. In fact, in fact the Scripture in an ecclesiastic three is a time for this is the time for that is the time for this. Everything he says is a time for everything under the sun but then in verse verse nine it says.

He says the writer writes, I have seen the great trouble that God has placed on man because we don't know. This is why this is why the small still voice this is why get into your word.

This is why getting up having a solid relationship with Christ is so important because we don't know is a time for everything, but now we can't be picking it's the time when we should do what we need to do. We have to we have to be in relationships because he tells is something you will avail things to his you know NME some things in a simplistic is a time the morning and at top it is but the writer writes, I have seen that the trouble they got the truck travailed it got its place them on man listen we don't have all day to do what we need to do onto my lifespan. My right right but we have.

We have to do what we need to do when one of them in the main one is getting closer to God. You know I spoke that I should dishonor on the radio broadcast bridging the gap last last Saturday evil because we we label evil evil as a thing evil as a thing as a substance evil is the broken relationship that we had with the father. That's was evil and everything else came after that I had all the bad stuff like we need to restore relationships with with with the father and that's key point principle number one that's good.

Can back to you.

Yeah, that there are no will you and I will will play one of our one of the things you know I've got a bigger Beverly looked only man and I think that will be there I mentioned earlier about my rock, there are a go but I did it appeared to me that there now. So we come back to the relationship in the daily relationship, but I also clearly of so many men don't really understand intimate relationship with the living Christ, how they understand religion and I am honoring God think with loss can hear for just a moment, but let's will getting back to just momentarily, but a building on that one of the problems that Kim is sharing. There is that men do not understand what it means to be intimate with with the father and with it Jesus Christ was to impart us because we don't have be intimate with each other and in most men didn't have it modeled special our generation didn't have it modeled properly. Say what were learning is what we have to be taught by the Holy Spirit by the father through Jesus Christ what that looks like and we have to be open to that. So that's that's a key part of any relationship meant specifically to cans. Points can be a living relationship can't be a religion Escambia living breathing relationship and that means you're talking daily or communicating daily reading your Bible daily.

Your listening in which we talked like a little while ago. We just started… Listening is truly listing as Duane Nixon, listening for that small still voice but there's a and the other Scripture nurses be steel know that I'm God and man, and not so think about that. If you have nothing or take nothing else from the show today is be steel and listen for that small still voice but be still and know that he is God he is God exiting Stephan 11 you know and and book James tells us that he would've made the statement if the statement was true.

He said no just be hearers of the word he said be doers of $200 a euro and and I think it's a lot hearers is a lot of churchgoers may hearing the word but they not doing the word you know because daughter word. It takes some sacrifice does it all. It takes some commitment really know it, it takes it takes some obedient to take it and all it takes all that you just know don't take some yeah takes a commitment it takes discipline right takes that brick and the other thing you know, talking, going for so started getting little bit of conversation earlier this week was some in on the texturing that was about taking up your cross and follow Christ. So I responded back great great Scripture quote and not bit and in the storm that when right now we as men need to be leading and not lacking in in in the midst of the storm and so the comment back was as the Holy Spirit leads us as the host really smart you are, folks who want to be very clear. Jesus gave us plenty commands and things had to be done and needed to be done via we don't need the Holy Spirit to lead us to witness to others with only Holy Spirit to lead us to go to the next door neighbor and feed him or clothe them a good visit those in the nursing homes that don't have anyone those things are things already. We know we need to be doing as followers of Christ you notice.

That's one of those spiritual clichés gets a gift but it's important during micro talk.

We've got to be doers of the word that the great there was a God thing, because right now so many people are just sidelined.

They are paralyzed or I guess there fear is gotten paralyzed or both want to things that were things that we need to talk about is that folks who will speak speak straight to your that if we if you can go to Home Depot you can go to Walmart and go to Lowe's and got all these public places that you can't get out to can't get out to go to church in the church is open, the need to question yourself my using this as an excuse or is it really a thing that I'm afraid to go to church with those people that you know at least some degree so I would just challenge you to get back engaged in your churches token wear masks okay to sit by yourself but you need to be back been a part of the body of Christ and get that fellowship going and that so see what the where where God takes you with this. We just turn that turn it back to you right this challenge is your pastor need your support they need you to be there with them and you know like I asked Essie what we're going through right now and in the things that we gone through in society and all that and then I look at the earlier church and and not in acts disallowed don't really want is a lot of people is going through this experience and hardship, but in the early church in the book of acts you know they stoned Paul standing and you know, stoning is an honest and harsh. I had his stoned him took him outside the gate left me for dead and he got up after they prayed and came around he got back up and went back to do ministry you know now I look at what we're going through right now.

I wouldn't think personally, I would think that necessarily compared to what stoning dumps and but that's how serious we have to be about ministry not not not not me, myself, and I had got had back problems. You know I had to struggle to go to church when it was open you. If I don't say so, going to church now discloses like get out on this I listen I miss an opportunity to show God how much I love the new & right you know at that ass. That's what I'm missing so I found the church that's open Megan back but I got a bunch of buddies to go to church and stuff like that so and pass to different places, like I go fellowship with them here and it but what what the point I'm trying to make is that I like you pointed out you know it. There comes a time when you have to show was in you, you know, the good, bad or ugly is coming out man will pass. We lost you there for couple moments, but here I cup when I met you yet without the neck of you to remember where your at some yeah we were talk about relate but I agree 1000 then it all start and that's gotta be a big focus go with you is a desk in one things we challenge the people while you're getting back on the line with this was about their attendance in supporting the pastors and then I think we need to take one step further by get back to reading gaze and I feel godly me to say this is that folks, you know, the pastoral job is a very difficult job in the it's and is one of those things that I would just say this.

If you've never done the job. The don't be critical of the job. If the facets of the job that you don't understand this and on target pastor if there's decisions are made that illness agree with go sit and talk to pastor, talk about fundamental things being wrong and being a pastor not been grounded in the word I'm talk about the kind of conversations that you pastors is able to wear a mask in this wild and wear a mask he has. He's responsible for the well-being of his shots of his flock in the set is the shepherd by design, and sees gotta make sure the safest to be and then there's other things we can go through will give is an excellent show can be blessed to have both of back with us next week and talk about this thing so one thing we just will leave you with this. Don't be paralyzed by this pandemic.

Figure out how to make it work where you mask be selective about where you go, but don't don't forget forsake the fellowship not forsake fellowship and that we just won't leave that with today get distracted. And although we do this the hope that you will join us again next week for will pick back up with Wayne and the pastor can and this has been a good show going. Thanks for being here to thank you for joining us and will be back next week as we wrap up today show.
