This is the Truth Network welcome to man talk brought to you by T8 W CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they're devoted to breaking down the walls of race and accommodation challenging and that take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white guy. Welcome to land dog radio will Hardy Georgia joins today and Roy you know a few weeks back we had a really good session with the sounds on them. Yeah, you know, it was an in and I was I was a before he gets there. How are you doing I'm doing great out on great, you really going greatest on I'm doing great and if you don't believe I'm doing great and you have to be me in order to experience the greatness that I'm experiencing Inc. right okay I make sure you okay it will make sure you get the personal side of a man and Steve.

You know he he has a training session we we all attended it was it was really great. It was called no regrets. Yeah, Steve's that I was const does a fantastic job working with me and vitamins miss traffic for about 25 years and this is a great conferencing is that helping us can get off the ground if you will, and some of the churches of the 11 men's ministry ministry to men. And that's the thing I think Roy because man really don't understand how to minister to me. You know when it comes to that. So I mean I was really, really, really, it was really beneficial for me. Yeah, everybody attend the cops will think that felt the same way on the feedback was good. Know what's really unique is our good is some of things that he was referring to and instructing us over something you have been talking about my longtime small groups.

The importance of the one-on-one relationships investing another man in a tribute about ministering to men and I think that's the part of the problem. Today society and most churches are still in that 1950s 60s mindset of men's ministry and it's okay will have breakfast once a month and and that's all they were not going down into the issues were not a hit head on was close and socialized and really not get into the deep end of what it means to be a Christ follower and you know Roy when you can start off with the really good mindset when it comes to ministering to a man. You know I'm going out and doing some the things that man like to do, but we have to be careful to that even though we are giving him the meat we want to give them the potatoes as well so you know it it comes. I think at a price for both individuals who are doing at 101 ministry because it takes a sacrifice on both of them you know to have the desire to want to do it, but then you have to have that commitment to continue with that's great you will because you know there's nothing goes without work right. This is, no, no gain without pain and sometimes the pain could be sacrifice of time and requires understanding spouse. If you're married in the family that you're investing in someone else outside the family.

And that's a tough challenge at times we we know that men are squeeze so much these days because of their schedules that you no longer be decoupled from work because you always turn the phone was people that are most larger cut most come as her current phone and some sort of dialogue going on so it's hard to figure out what when I go to find time to invest in.

Will Hardy you.

Here's my brother that needs me investing in him, but I've got your 50 or 60 hour work week children. The my attention.

My wife needs my attention how to make that work. So how would you have you do that with plastic and and what what I say is is when people say I don't have time. They make time for other things. So what you need to do if you really and I'm I'm going to the extreme here to say if you really need to manage your time on your phone or on your Calendar and say as I go through my day where my spending my time. What am I doing with it and and you will be surprised because it's it's just like a lot of people you know they don't understand where the money is going in the house, especially if you have a husband and wife is like where's the money you know they look at the bank account. I don't see the money here.

So did you take all where I forgot to tell you that such and such and such. I took the money out you know and then you have this long drawn out explanation as to why I forgot to tell you but may be in the mindset of that spouse they were putting away that money had set aside for something else that they wanted to do together were take a trip or whatever the case may be right. So what if I'm near back to you real quick so if you if you fail to plan. I prioritize which doesn't look like a plan to fail. So therefore if if you don't go and carve out the time ahead of time so cables business. Our work will ended the day just gets absorbed and then you consider what you do find time to do things that you really "want to do that you want to do was go fishing, playing golf, hunting, all the sorts of things are ordered in these days gaming like we talked about some of the previous shows right. There's a lot of time spent in front of the computer screen and Emmy on them. Men spend thousands of dollars on on monitors and chairs and all the appropriate stuff to gain properly so, but what greater investment in the putting into another man. That's what Steve was trying to tell us is the one-on-one relationship folks is where it begins is that 11 ministry to men, not men's ministry ministry to man so it's if you listen your part of the men's group or you are not part of men's group at church and one get one started more and happy to share the resources with you, but in the online that's the sound of an in fact, one of the books that that we used to think it was a mobilizing man for life-changing 11 mobilizing for life-changing 11 ministry it was. And you know that's it. That's a really good book and I look through it and it it really has some very enlightened things that man as one-on-one or in a small group can get together to talk about because as the group that we had, you know on Saturday morning when we met, you know, we branched out in small groups right and see one or one of the things he was talking about was that men were looking for relevance and so he he.

In our small group, you know, the questions were asked what is true masculinity that that was really good because I think when when as men we look at masculinity as macho-ism rather than how a man should understand what his role is that God has established him to perform.

You know in the community and his household in the church, you know, etc. was always so so that I think we have a skewed view of masculinity.

So what would you say to what would you say true masculinity is hot. How would you define it well for me that so will forces the mentation God and follow Christ and truly that would be the first thing he's submitting to Christ authority to the models what it means to submit to authority ended and that that's the that would be the first step. Second thing is man stands on standards know he's strong buddies.

These these quiet in terms of he lets God speak through him, and I am speaking to God and said with a shrug of the father. Listen to what the father dictated in the other piece is truly being the spiritual leader in the home and in the church like her talk about before. I think that's that's what I see is is is masculinity and also have the tender side of me that your Christ with an is there's nothing all show emotion think you know in the right moment time when God moves on heart is that mallets can speak to the person beside every so I think that those are some the components I think is not violence. It's not the sexual conquers your conquest that happened to a lifetime which society would have you believe in your core societies dumbing down if you will manhood as a whole. All the sitcoms most shows are as though who's the butt hard expression of the joke writing is who it's the is the man right so that that's that's the brunt of the joke. Every time he's the downplay. He's the person that's made the object of of humility if you will you be perfect. Well, yeah. And because you know when the world has a different objective and so their objective is to basically make man look like you know some stumbling buffoon idiot. You know that I'm of individual and and I think you know it's like okay if you can't laugh at that.

If you can't laugh at yourself than you really not a man you know that all of these statements is what the society is put on man, it hasn't. In the few think about the amount time that children are spinning in front of the TV and computer and all that stuff like we've shared.

That's the role overseeing right so if the if that's what they in their minds eyes. The grown man it's okay to be treated like that it's okay to act that way and not take responsibility because your Lotta men are absent in the children's lives today and that's when things were really encouraging mentor to get off the sidelines and become more partner logs and be more active right well you know in any other mother part of what we are talking about was how the worldview success versus how success is defined in view scripturally right know and so we are in the world. Look at success as how much money you have, what you drive and what you live in and will what your wife or your husband look like, what do they do where you children go to school. All of these things are defined by society. You know from the worst perspective I could help think our house shortchange Lisa go sit how your husband but you know when when we talk about success when it comes to a man I think it's it's what type of seeds are you sowing to the individuals who you coming in contact with and what kind of legacy are you leaving your children what will they remember you by right now we know we talked about that. It's how we story read when you go that's the very very thing you're asking what was it what what's what's going look like when you're gone. When his children are grown of the people you've influenced how are they going to be what impact did you make, and then we got asked ourselves that Emma make a difference in somebody's life. Is it a positive difference. You're making a difference is just with five different so you make any other thing is that is you know when you do pass from this life and go to the life everlasting.

Are you ready. Not only are you ready, but when they start sifting through all of the things that you have hidden in the drawer and under the bed and in the shed in and bank accounts. What how would that define your life right say so there's there's that the hidden peace that we really don't want to talk about because it's, it's, you know, something that that's that's something that I have to harbor that's that's my space that's something that I have to deal with in and you can enter in again. It tells you what type of man you really are.

It does, and you as you talk about when there sifting through all the stuff. Is it going to withstand the for our judgment right and is where all these things so temporal that it's going to gone as Grimsby consumed in the judgment of if it isn't Denise okay didn't and I really make a difference within the just change course circuit father, show me what it is and what I need to be doing and how I need to be doing so I can make a difference.

What you know and we were talking about in our Christian fellowship group and for those of you who don't know you know there are some companies out there that do allow you to come together and talk about Jesus.

This is a good thing. It is a very good thing. So we come back from the break. We're going to talk about continuing to talk about some the things that we learn within the conference and the meeting and also how God blesses with us as men yes think you will will be right back with your CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship after the best breakfast in town meeting location is at their gracious posterior First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Remember, affordable chiropractic on the West Lexington High Point Hall 336-885-1987. Welcome back to mansard radio folk since it's a great day to chat about men. We appreciate you doing so will fix back up where we left off. But what we were talking about Roy is that you know within the Christian fellowship group we actually have one of these in our work environment and it's it does wonders. I think for the spiritual morale you know of them individual, which most companies don't have but I'm very thankful that the company has something like this that the individuals can come together and worship him and fellowship with him and that's part of what the fellowship pieces really key writing in and working outside working in your been lightly around like-minded people mess with things the shared his training was the community of men how important the community is because men men desire fellowship in the in spite of that, I guess that embedded warrior that God's grace. Naturally gravitate towards and I think that's what men enjoyed which spoke about that before, but team sports in the Army in any branch of service.

There is a commodity that is established in the sink to be truth in your church which is the great part, you know, I mean, just think about going out help other people serving the needy help during major storms they could come Rodriguez built and we are doing something not getting paid for and you know Roy, but it's it's hard for man to get involved in getting gauge which with each other. I think that's the big hurdle. You know it it's like just start talking about something is like you know is this man am I beginning to get through to him with the things that I'm saying that type of thing in about one of the things that the we had talked about in Christian fellowship group here. Actually, on this Wednesday was the purpose in life and this was one of the questions that Steve had on his during the conference that we had with him was my purpose. People are looking for purpose. What am I supposed to be doing. How how am I to get started. What is it and am I doing the right thing.

You know one side once I get into this body called Jesus Christ and working for his kingdom. How do I know that I'm doing what Jesus call me to do that. That's the angel? Most people will never find the purpose. I think if you look around the church, you got 20% of people doing 80% of the work within the church is a stroke which means that there's a lot of people that haven't figured out where to plug in or how the plug-in or if they could even make an impact. Think that comes back to some of the complacency. This development will so I think for me personally it's just just trying several different things that you know we heartened that your interests lie.

Just you have to step quickly chocolate step in the natural.

Let God come along supernatural. If you make that first step toward something. It may not be worry what you sow he's going gravitate and move you where it is that he needs to be be a part of things in and start making an impact now and and having having a desire to do something for the Lord I think is is the first step because if if once you get into the body of Christ and in it's good that you stated that that you could just start doing something in God will direct you where exactly where you need to go based on the talent and/or the spiritual gifts that he not giving you exactly no but if I don't have a desire to do anything and I'm constantly making up excuses on why can't do this or that or the other thing. Oh, I'm not. I don't have enough education to really do such and such, or I'm not a gifted speaker to do such and such and such. You know, we can find excuses for anything so I think when it when it comes to you finding your purpose, you start engaging yourself to just simply go over there to a group of people who might be working or within your church and say how can I help you, will you you you need illustrated will and here's the key. The, the attitude you choose.

You choose to go do it. You may not feel like doing it, but it's an attitude that you've chosen.

I'm choosing to go do this is likely taught that love. Love is an attitude, not an emotion.

It's a choice, so you choose to go sir. And from that when you make the choice to go serve even though you don't feel like it, then God's going to God's going to empower you and God bless you beyond measure. Just remember, folks, is not the feeling the feelings come and go.

We all know that is no different than any relationship. If God never leaves us is always with us, but we don't have those values and will have his peaks, but it's important that you know because he loved you gave his life for you. The least we can do is serve the kingdom. The least we can do is serve the king and that comes in so many different ways, so that means you gotta start figuring out in the way you figure out just like we talked about. Go try something out it doesn't fit the vaulted lecture: quote that didn't fit move to the next thing this even land exactly were you supposed to be, but it will never happen as long as you sit inside the house or sitting on the pew and going home every Sunday afternoon and we'll see you until next Sunday or never have a desire enough to want to do anything, you know, get us back to the conscious choice you choose it, even though the feeling may not be what was seat with a desire desire can be a Holy Spirit prompt so the Holy Spirit prompting you so would not, doesn't necessarily mean when I say desire I'm talking about a feeling what I'm saying is, a desire can be prompt from the spiritual rim because all of our ideals. All of our movements everything everything we think about is given to us.

We adopted from the spiritual rim because it is a spiritual battle. We we look with the five senses. We see this that and the other we feel we taste we touch we see with the eyes we hear with the ears, but beyond that realm is the spiritual realm. And that's what dictate the actions of man because we adopt those ideals from that rim yet know nobody just comes up.

Only this is just like a guy go out and say well today I'm just going to get up beat my wife.

This is what I feel like doing you know that that in and of itself is not a desire that is that he has.

It's a desire that's given to him that he adopts so he adopts these ideals. He goes out and carry my because a spiritual battle.

We can get away from the fact that everything you do everything you say is prompt from the spiritual realm. Ephesians 612. Yeah, I don't disagree with it.

All I'm saying from the attitude standpoint is that you may not have the desire in this moment because it's not been revealed to you may not have what what is exactly supposed to be doing so.

To your point if you don't start stepping you don't start moving toward something. It is like if you're sitting back expecting you pray for all these things that happen in your life but you never move move move out of your chair is not going to happen you know I'm saying is this is not just a way that I get the fact that if you follow Christ that the it's it's going to be. You will be prompted by the Holy Spirit thinks should be in embedded into you that your bench as you grow closer than it would be more parent. I think that's the key will probably not talk about is that you gotta be in relationship with Christ. You gotta be daily talking daily walking with him so that this desire, prompting the Chautauqua is more evident and more obvious to you as you're walking with him. If you're not in that that maturity level in your relationship with him in terms of not seeking all guidance from him. You may miss the key. If you follow me with that and then that's why so important to start stepping in. And folks, it is never too late.

I guess the Stilton will leave with you about this conversation is never too late to start stepping yes and that's another question. You know that we talked about how to the question for later. You know it and it's never it's never you should never say I'm never going to do this for Christ because I am not gifted to do that you should never say that right because and in you don't really have to be you know that mature in Christ to figure out what it is he wants you to do. You just are doing it you know and and see when you first came to Christ I'm talking to that listener out there.

When you first came to Jesus Christ. How on fire. Were you then versus how how much you are on fire for him today and I guarantee you when you slip back and you see when you first started out in Jesus you wanted to save the world. Majority of us know you know that we wanted to save the world because it was like my life is been change my ideals is different. My walk is there for my talk is different of people who are hanging out with is different and so all these things now. It's like wow and so you want to go out and conquer the world. I know that's how I want to be giving Ali. I agree with you most everybody responds assembly so as bit as we mature we have a tendency to get in safe place and take those things that God had given to us when we first started walking often him. We take those things for granted. Yeah and and back to the pursuit constant pursuit it would get comfortable. We don't necessarily continue to chase. That's obvious by receiving it right now the church return right in the barn studies were to say about people not returning to church after pandemics over. We know there's a lot of complacency that resides in the church complex air and complacency is because people simply they have gotten tired and not sought God for the necessary strength that they need and they're trying to do it themselves instead of depending on the spirit yet and I think it started before the pandemic and that's we know that will give some statistics will quickly chocolate the Memphis the Solomon you Waterman leaving the church church today with 90% of boys raising church will leave. But today, statistics will not submit say believe in God, a 3% call themselves Christian hundred percent extra 1033% thinning church that was at tell you. Gladness outlines a very complacent and then the other question isn't really how many are taking what they've been taught and taking it outside the church and arguing several how many were taught properly now. Yeah, that's another that's another question based on things we've seen a lot of not been talking few churches can establish or maintain a vibrant minister to men Sunday services and we talked about this, but dead on number 61% women, 30 but 39% men, 13 million more women than men in the US cemented their wounded and addicted and will talk about that in the friendless so the other thing folks before but before leave. It is that men are confused of masculinity which will opened up with 90% of all major crimes committed by men 5% of of most violent well someone of sea scallops and sherbet majority of rapes are committed by men 95% of all versions of the men and 91% of all abusive family comes from 94% of all drunk drivers for men for female prisoners to everyone. Female men got a lot of work if you don't another sector so we thank you for joining us will will see back next week will you want to come out in the plan now and if you don't know Jesus Christ just confess that you are sinner believe that he went and died in your place on the cross and that he rose from the dead, according to the Scripture receive him into your heart get into a Bible teaching church and let the Lord deal with you. Amen as we wrap up today show.
