God is good, you know, we just we had a blessed time today on the Christian Fellowship group will exchange little bit of that earlier. You know how God blessed and we were talking about spiritual sacrifices and he knows this is something that we just got to do as Christians, yet nothing in this day and time when we are so many things that the minute got step up and start doing realize that it's not about themselves that we talk about the continuing it's about the other person to be about your family should be about everyone else instead instead of me and sacrificing part of that journey right.

Andy and I think another component that men need to realize is that you indeed have a purpose you do and if you're a follower of Christ. There should be purpose to your life if you are out there of the world and in the world and you may not understand what your purpose is follower of Christ. You should deftly have identified what your purpose in life because a lot of people Roy. They say I don't know what I'm supposed be doing in Christ you know now that I'm a born-again believer you know I can't articulate the Bible and all this other stuff but you know it's not about articulating the Bible when you are new born-again believer, you simply just tell what you know that's like tell you testimony tell your experience of of where you were and how God asked you to get from where you were to where you are now in him right when you make a good point will we often talk about. Men will take the step in the natural, God will come along and see if this is one of those key areas right, even as it relates to Bible memory, reading the Bob understanding hello Cory, if you will just make the effort and pray ahead of time before we get into the body's apologist help lock this into my heart and my mind as I'm reading your word. You may not be the best memorization person but you if you let God lead you through it just like you shared it will. You're one of the most talented individual gift note in this area that you know you pull Scripture like you looking for an encyclopedia in the Bible. Flipping through your eyes when you start looking in Scripture so and so you get the reference."

It can be done from a man as I think, don't let that be a discouragement to try to God.

You step in the natural rest and supernatural a man and you know Roy when you talk about purpose. Man purpose. What when I see purpose. I see purpose in three components three components when it comes to purpose.

Number one is desire. Number two is motivation.

And number three is determination, desire, motivation and determination.

And I think once we understand those components then we will start to take ourselves in the right direction because you are the guardian of your own destiny and so you know I just reminded here of how God blessed and in Scripture you know and I jotted down a few scriptures Colossians 1, nine and 10. For this reason, we also since the day we heard it. Do not cease to pray for you and that you may be feel with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

So that's that your purpose, your purpose is to gain knowledge and let God take the wisdom and show you how to apply the knowledge so if I can back up one step rate will build in front of what you just shared a man of purpose is a Christ follower who he has to be a Christ follower in order to for this to make absolutely, absolutely.

And so once once he get there, and now you start laying out the plan and the plan again is desire, motivation, determination. If you have no desire to want to know more about God, then you will never pick up the word but see what you had just stated.

If you are a man of God then you want to know more about who God is what God did in history how he blessed the prophets how he blessed, certain individuals, how he he blessed the apostles and how he spoke through them to convey the message of God. So once we as that the man and head of our house.

We are the ones who supposed to be leaving right and you know the blessings is one component of right. The workpiece is the other part of this man involved in the thick of their purpose. Man involved so that person is got to be not only seeking spiritual guidance but is also going to be a man of action. After doing things in in the world and being a participant, rather for the kingdom as opposed to sitting back in silence like we always talk about a man because you know Jesus said we like we Swiss autumn like that's right so if with salt and light you know and light when when you share shine light in a dark room.

Darkness is what flees right, but then when you turn the light off.

All of a sudden it comes darkness, so darkness cannot really exists in the presence of lice right you just can't message the other day was talk about that very thing. It was talk about some of the blessings you have complete darkness. You know, when God created know it was all dark and let there be lights in some of the greater blessings come to darkness right and then were in the middle of the dark times for looking and seeking God.

That's once over greater blessings, because we see how strong, how capable he is from her phone.

A man and and we know God is able because we see him working the lives of other people and we know if he did for John James and Paul and Peter asked him exactly exactly and sleep. You may not be the one who establish and plant a church and do all of these things. These great things as we consider you know, in the eyes of man, but you'll purpose and letting God lead you to do whatever it is you want you can do in the church, not necessarily what you want to do because what we want to do may not line up with what God has called us to do with it because Butler said earlier, if what we want to do that comes about me or is about to come. Maybe it always is and always has been, but we need to make about others because Christ made a man was never about himself. No matter here. Here was the greatest of all, God himself as man and he walking on this earth but it was never about him other than share the love of God, a man and that's a look at how he lived, how you traveled all those things. A man so when when I have a desire I mean that desire that I have two want to bring my family together if my family is is torn apart or if we are walking in different directions. Then that God will place that desire in your heart but you as the man in the head of that household. You have to be at a point to be able to listen to the voice of God when he calls you so you get out there. Go to your house of worship. Start studying the Bible and just start reading and start praying to try something to write and don't pray in your you make a good fortune to have the household member purposes man involved in. That's the first place.

You season is involved is at home with his wife and his children in either the service guys last week.

Even if you're not married, you can still be heading household demand because you can set patterns and status disciplines as God is preparing you for the next track to be married or whatever it is you can prayer your home. You can pray for your neighbors. You can pray for God's guidance in that day you can pray for your future spouse can pray for your future children, all of those things. Things were drawing closer to the father and give you more intimate knowledge of the personal relationship and it will create what we talk about now is to create the desire to desire because their purpose. That's right because you know you you want to be an active father within your home and you also want to be an active participant in teaching of your family within Scripture. And so if you if you're doing these things, and in that desire is created in you then all you have to do now is walk out you love the word active will. That's one thing you have to be an active player in active participant.

So in this relationship with God you have to do your part. That part is just what you mentioned, you need to be reading the word we need to be praying need to be asking. But there's another piece of that we need be an active listener and that's part of that thing in active listening is that when God mirrors Somerset says something to you through his word. You should mirror it back and follow. This is what I'm receiving from your word in my hearing correctly. A man in and you know I have taught are the congregation there in which God had blessed me to be pastor over. Pray the word if you can pray anything else.

Pray the word right right you know that I the spray the Psalms. Pray Proverbs you know and and but you have to get these things inside and see that that 10th verse of first Colossians am sorry, it says that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, there is again study to show thyself approved right that's right, you know. So if I'm if I'm studying and if I am reading. I may not fully understand what I'm saying but it as you commit your heart and mind and we always talk about you know Romans 12 to on renewing your mind every day you get up and this is how you do it you devote to have your devotion. Pray to God, ask God to open up your heart, your mind, with further understanding of his word and if things you don't understand. He will send people yes people, he will put people in your path to give you that particular understand. That's why, I'm I'm a big proponent Roy and you probably notice already of the small group I love the small group II will defend the small group to the grave.

Because both are basic things that I am huge and I think me and if you are born-again you have been in the Lord in any space of time, you should be in a small group because that's where key learnings I mean are really really Saturday.

Are we on the other piece that like we talked about the past. It's an accountability time to see if you're struggling with something good group of brothers school and asked that question the difficult questions as you're going to that life journey together because they will are you and check in your private life. Are you checking your anger. Are you chicken loving spouse, all those things are so important, so you can curb small groups. And that's a training coming up. April October 31. Those that accept Christ. You need to take him to the next level so that we and what of the sideline. It's one thing to have your salvation. It's a whole another to work to sanctification work towards truly making disciples and just growing daily and growing others in their walk with Christ. I think that such a key part of man with purpose is indeed the great commission. You gotta have that is one your principles. A man and you know, if you don't then we are not fulfilling what God has said in reference to going out and basically expanding the church.

I trust we gotta take the gospel to to everywhere where it's not being ministered to try and we think it's, it's, you know today that it's not a place on earth where in my not being ministered, but if you look hard enough. There's some people who are just not getting the gospel memorized the executor and for whatever reason, that might be because the country that they're living in. You know could it could be more dominant religion say Muslim and if you know they commit to the Christian way of life.

You know that they fear for their lives in some of these countries. No doubt you know so the second component in Roy to purpose is motivation.

And when I think when you when I talk about motivation myself personally, I think of three subtopics under motivation and those are that you have to have enthusiasm. You gotta be enthusiastic about your desire so see desire precedes motivation and so enthusiastic I think goes with attitude right exactly. So it's it shows you choose to be enthusiastic you choose to have good that you may not always feel like being enthusiasm. You may not always feel a Good attitude, but you have to choose, and there are people if you get around born-again believers and men who are walking upright in Christ's. This is where the small group comes in because see they can feed into your spirit, the things that perhaps they went through that you currently going through. That's right fleas and our other statement which was made before you're a man with an opinion has no argument with Mannix with experience a man right and transact what you're saying man with expensive across the table can help guide the person who's going through that same journey now in his life. A man and so when when you talk about being enthusiastic, you know again that's where everything we do is a choice. It's a choice we we we we choose what were going to put on where we going to go so we are making choices all day right you know it's out so we have to make a choice about our spiritual health. You know what is it that I'm going to do today to feed my spiritual man to enhance my spiritual growth to take me to the next level so that second component into two motivation is what we talked about accountability so you have to have in their some type of accountable miss if you will to yourself, you know so you you gotta be accountable, so if if I if I fail if I set a specific standard that I want to live by.

And yet I fail in that standard.

And then I continue to move on or overlook it. Roy then then I'm not allowing myself to be held accountable because what I'm doing is just shown it to the side when you're not seeking the pure sense of forgiveness. Either you look overlooking keep moving forward and not reconcile that sin cannot reconcile the filter one piece of that to Wilson support for men to be transparent in a small group setting. In this and limited to stress this point to in the small group setting.

There has to be hi hi hi sense of confidentiality.

The only time of and I've given my men the guys of been a part of us looked only time you ever have a problem with confidentiality is that if you breaking the law and that something needs to be dealt with orphans and fidelity in marriage and if you don't take it forward and will have to take it for because you can't continue to live in sin is in and that's part of that accountability piece if a man's walking with God. He's had a problem is made a mistake his brother going wrap them up. Pray for him than he needs to take them forward to his wife to reconcile that because because of James 417 he who know to do the will of God, but doesn't to him and to send a man so that such great will good bill so that you know you you have to have some type of accountability and you know it's just like in the natural you have a project that you need to do or start in the house and and and I remember years ago when I was a much younger man like you I would get out. I would get out there and I ran marathons that that's what I did.

I mean I was I was a runner and I ran and ran and ran, but when I first started the most difficult thing was getting started. You know you get out the door and see and I just think it it you have to really motivate yourself in those who run or exercise, you know, when you don't you have a feeling of guilt. And so you should have that same feeling when you failed to not give God the time that he deserves in your life that that prayer time.

The devotion time.

The time to seek his face and if you are not doing that and you know that you should be daunted again. James 417 we we have to go back to that now that lack good that last component so I have. I'm I gotta get enthusiastic I have to build some type of enthusiasm. Number two.

This is all talk about motivation now number two I have to have some type of accountability.

It is in my motivation steps and then number three I have to have some type of goal that I'm I'm breaching or because it has to end. So you have to end. Whatever it is you're going to start so you can start something else that's right you know if you have the saying goes, if you fail to plan you plan to fit exactly like they were in the absence of the new basics and I'm just giving up inherence is great where you put that will we was talking a son earlier this evening or today on this very topic and we were chatting about some things because he's having is in college and have to go through this whole on one study that is easy to get out of discipline of working out regularly with his Bible study time of his prayer time so there is room to hold each other accountable in this journey and that's a great point that you're making about motivation, accountability, and goals, accountability, and that that sense requires you to convey what your goals or to someone else so that they can help hold you and check the site pick up phone call you. We can say will I was a quiet time this week. How was your study time. How was your private life if that's in there that you got in your goals to make sure you stay with something should be part of those types of things are part of that accountability said that the great build some great bills for this. This is moderate study abroad except for my hey man, you know, because hardly any of us in anything we do our self motivators. You know, truth is we were that we have to have something to someone, helping us alone.

There are those 1% or less of thinking in the population that they've got such drive the hit the deck run with the other 99% does need some help. They may not have said ditto but you know I'm Joel Joel chapter 20 and verse two and three says therefore my anxious thoughts make me answer because of the turmoil within me. I have heard the rebuke that reproaches me and the spirit of my understanding causes me to answer C was being bombarded by three of his so-called friends, you know, and so they were saying Joel lives. It's because you were sinners because man was born in created in sin and etc. and they went on and on and on and they really thought that they knew Joe but but here Joel stood fast.

He stood fast and he made himself accountable and and so as God began to bless him and as he began to hold on now, now that we don't know the condition of how Job look but any time when you have to take a piece of pottery and literally scrape the boils off of your skin take much imagination to figure that out exactly when you had to take pottery and you noticed pottery. I mean, just to get relief scrape scrape these things up and they just looked at him when his three fat friends came he just sat there and I love move was to three days they just sat there and looked adding it was like Joe.

What happened is like they couldn't believe what they were saying go from one extreme to the other exactly the seat and that's how sometimes Roy in our lives we get to the point of there's so much pain going to iLife so much pain. You know pain in reference to spiritual pain, physical pain, emotional pain, psychological pain, all these things just sort of like start enclosing on us and as a born-again believer honestly believe that we cannot get out of this ourselves, we cannot unless we as man allow God, let him not to force himself on you man.

Have to let him do the things in your life that you cannot do for yourself.
