This is the Truth Network welcome to mannitol Rocky by T8 W CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they are devoted to breaking down the walls of race, age, and challenging them to take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white guy really like to thank you welcome and to man talk radio and Roy, we have someone here who is Winston-Salem's finest Sleepy Jacobs with us today in I know he's a good friend of yours is our honor to have Aaron with us this evening John Snyder pleasure fell is my pleasure Roy, you know there is a lot that's happening, you know it in in the city and in the nation. As you know, as a whole and tonight show is in reference to talk about man young man and man in general you know keeping them on the right side of law. That's what we want to focusing on today and we hope that the officer Jacobs can go suck some insight on what exactly will we as going through this journey of rotunda remit of God I think is important understand the other side of the fence when you're not walking with the Lord and throughout the world how easily something that's could be considered just a joke or something. Monica turned something majorly quickly. I think maybe a submariner will share with us as we speak today about how simple a simple act turns in something really major change for lifetime yes so we wanted to start off with a question for Aaron is what you do you see as some of the major causes as to why we see so many young man getting incarcerated just from your standpoint know own life know if there's not a good stable home life. If you're raised in an environment where all you see is the way to get what you need to get is you break the law or you want to have with the other guys but your mom or your dad trying as hard as I can to provide for the best way they came. It you don't wait on you be selfish about it and go out and forgot a way to get yourself in. You don't realize that the actions that you take Advil parent as a whole. You know kids nowadays don't realize that if you don't go to school for an extended period of time. Your parents are the ones that are unaccountable. Your parents can be prosecuted for those types of truancy violations so you know kids just not want to wait for understanding that the value of the work that your parents do to try and provide for you and trying to refurbish Azure food in your belly close on your back. You know might not be the closure wanted to choose one you got close on got shoes on your feet and get Dr. David Dunning realize it.

You know they scrounge and scrape their hard-working kids you got young people at your work and art began. You know you got other kids out here doing things that they don't need be doing, and it's making it difficult on those young people because unfortunately in the society we live in the group to group. Individuals get. We put them in one group and say well this group over here doing we know you live in that area, so send it. You're probably doing it is their time exactly so we can have anything to do with what in your experience with all the different areas you worked here in the Western area. When you run into a situation with young young young man will say right and set problematic with that that child. How often is the father present in that environment are absent because one of the things we really been encouraging his men to take the role was as to be dads not to be used to bother child to be a good to be a dad to that child right that's it. That's good point. We all need to realize that you know anybody can father child but it's different between being a father being a dad and sometimes we get the idea.

Well, there's not your parents in the household in you know this households not work is to Be successful and will we can't can't look at from a father not been in the household means suck be successful because I'm gonna many a household where mom and dad to live together but they can parent together, you can still parent together you live together now is that ideal. Now that have the Lord in Denver to be no right but you know what sometimes I get better results in better experiences out of a household where the two parents realize. You know what we can't do this is a couple and is going to be detrimental to the household as a whole and to the children as whole. Let's do this apart let's do it together for the betterment of our children right. So in the incestuous who has of most violent occurrences with also young man was. If you have ascertained maybe weren't was it the absence of the father in any kind of role bits, as it was more we read rating we do. We understand that the absence of a father impacts in so many ways that the with women and men to stepfather role such an important piece of of growing up right having a father in their you know that you have that strong male influence in your life to help you go down the right path and that's extremely important for young man is grown up in.

I mean it's probably different. You grown up without your dad living in Cherokee Wyoming, Brighton, Cheyenne, Wyoming versus nothing in the city Cheyenne versus the inner city of let's say you know Chicago or Los Angeles or Winston-Salem or Greensboro, for Pete's sake, and that the father role. There is probably more paramount. If you're grown up in a more hostile violent environment. I know sometimes on the father grew up in that type environment to enhance all Dan and it's a product of the system. Unfortunately, that's all.

Dan knew damn new violent lifestyle because that's what his father knew or mom, you know, came from underage mother because grandma came from an underage mother and unfortunately it's a it's a societal thing that branches across all measures of Erickson inspections on all generations but and you know without that male figure there to try and straighten them right in the ship should come run at iceberg and hit something hit another chaperoning whether there a lot of ladies out there moms are working hard to try to raise her children right we don't want to describe 10th -ranked, we will applaud them to give them a hand tonight because a is it really is the fact that the man stepped out the situation or never took responsibility begin rent right so, but what's important that we all realize that we can break the legacy so no matter what's happened the past men, young men and old alike is never too late for you own your direction. You own it on the legacy so if you choose to continue to played out the way you were raised in it and that's your responsibility back on that, but you can in the break that legacy.

I think that's a word of encouragement we neatly demand with and the ladies are out there doing so, you can indeed break this legacy indeed, and I like that.

Also that things God had designed man and the role of a man that a woman cannot feel the role in which God has set aside for that man. She's doing the best she can write right right but ended in eyesight of the Lord God is saying as a male in a family I've designed you to take on these responsibilities and the wife take on these responsibilities, you know, in the corners of what the Scripture says, and I think when a man is in the situation where he's the single father because we have to remember that to sell the visa single father. Now he's trying to do things that God did not design him to do as a man] so you know it it gets its cross-cultural and across the spectrum when you talk about gender, it is it is I think too often we we don't put enough value on either side of it but love and play a very vital role, but I see this being man talker speaking to the men tonight, but we really want them working towards breaking the legacy he grew up with and I we call it daddy wounds will that quite often. Daddy Williamson because they're real they exists.

If you grown up with daddy Williamson seek help get some counseling to figure how to put that the bitsy can move ahead of that, so you don't have to carry that forward and connection break legacy if you never get over the wound, you don't heal from the wounds, then you really have a much less likely chance of getting through that process and I'd like to just ask Aaron as a Christian, is it difficult to separate your Christian walk with your civil servant walk. Some days I would say yes, someday that's a yes some days it's a struggle because things that we see on a given daily basis you know there's party you sometimes when you see certain situation occur in a household or in a family or whatever the case may be where you want to react outside of what the Scripture tells you, and how it tells you how to act as a Christian as you had act as a man you see where man has apparently put his hands on his wife or significant other and as a man you want to react as you go to the same household over and over and over again and you do your part denies the officer that young lady wants to project press charges she wants to go to jail.

She wants me to be punished and you go through that whole process and it breaks your heart is in you go to court and she wants to drop the charges and then the next thing you know they're walking out the courtroom together own each other and hugging in the back your mind because after you've done this while you start become callous to those situation right you think years.

I got I go in life. I mean while I go through this because I might be going to your house in two days.

Again. And you know it's it's just those type of situations.

In general where you want to lash out. I guess that's what I can think of.

Want to lash out because you know what guys can do heart I'm in domestic violence. Let me let me make this clear.

Domestic violence is a two-way street situation treat women committed just like men do, but unfortunately men are embarrassed to report that kind of that year.

They don't report either their girlfriend or wife or significant other, believe on him, even though it happened, he maintained it is it is and that's a problem in and of itself is well that is abstinent. Domestic violence is a cycle and eventually relates to a point where somebody is seriously injured or killed and if that's: on that something you would report you with the appropriate authorities is just as hard in general Monday and day out basis to do with the Lord commands me to do as a believer in him and to do my job to serve the citizens once no one sometimes you just want to use want lash out.

Just speak your mind but you know the Spirit doesn't want just that and clearly in that moment in that moment, you've gotta be quiet and you gotta let it work its way out where we we really honored to have you with us today insisted something about the second half of the transition outlet as we do break here. Think about was the funniest thing had happened to his officers was full of the humeral.

This would come back to the suicide delivery return Lord Lasker crazy things happen. Thank you T a W CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship after the best breakfast in town meeting location is in their gracious posterior First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Main St. encouraged him a hard start at 7 o'clock on a hard stop at 8 o'clock. First time visitors eat for free.

Join your host will party and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy in a white guy portable chiropractic in High Point might tell from their name, affordable chiropractor, even for the cash. Welcome back to join us today will men talk radio Lloyd Jones who will party and we got officer AP Jacobs here with us in. We left up before break with challenged him to come tells about the funniest things happen him are the craziest things happen him and I'm sure you got many stores that that would probably fit that bill. It will discuss it would come up with force or well when it comes to my mind it didn't actually happen to me but a buddy of mine who worked at the police department. We were standing around like most officers do and have a little downtime between calls and just shoot and shop any insight man. I pulled this car overnight, and I knew that God was going to be drunk, he was all over the road he goes and this guy why God and speak Spanish or anything like that and he walks up to the car and asked God for his drivers license and registration Hispanic guy and I spent a guy goes and the also looks and goes with certain that's great because I don't speak Spanish either, but both seem to speak English.

That's a good story you know of tomatoes listeners out there. You know we want them come back to the Scripture because we always got have a little Scripture will be talking man talk and in Romans 13. I'm sure somewhere along the line.

Most of you, if not all of you have been exposed to this verse of Scripture and it says let every soul be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God.

Maybe I need to read that one more time, guys. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority that's a question, do what is good and you will have praise from the same for he is God's minister to you for good.

But if you do evil, be afraid, bad boys bad boys what you gonna do.

I just have them sign for, for he who does not bear the word in vain. For he is God's minister and avenger to execute wrath upon the practices of evil. So with the word of God here is saying is that the our men and women in blue. They are here to enforce the law and to bring justice against those who do evil.

That's the word of God. That's not my word, and so when when we see the meaning women in blue coming and we again thanked officer Jacobs for what he does being a man of God and also was a civil servant that we need to come to this realization of putting aside things that we see visually on TV that calls us to take a sigh understand man what the word of God says and what your stance should be in relation to the Scripture because we know that when we are subject to the law, in which God had placed before us that obedience to that brings about, well, it's sacrifice for us, but it also brings about those things that God would want to pour out on our site, which is still the blessings from heaven. He said I will open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that that necessarily mean that it's all money blessings could make it come in any form, of course, will that's where you point too often were expecting the blessings, the assumption of financial peace exist when we give ourselves exactly blessing only comes with $'s associate exactly listener society does will appreciate what you just read in Scripture… Give some system statistics provided for sheer related to North Carolina visa North Carolina statistics for assaults on law enforcement officers in 2017 there were 776 firearm assaults which I was assuming dealers shooting at or actual shooting of an officer, 29, cutting or other instruments hundred 97 dangerous weapon charges 2070 2070 physical impacts with Hans Pfister feet total assaults in the year 2017, 2372, and I don't know what that breaks out to terms number officers. There is but it sounds like you got a pretty good opportunity that some summer 30 year you will be attacked or something happened to you in the air and I have a friend from our church that was shot a couple years ago on serving a warrant if I remember correctly I think that's what why didn't it and I had a worn awning and I went out to serve it in. People like the freedom like their freedom is what it comes down to you know I don't. I mean I work at the jail nowadays and I'll be honest, I had been at the jail. I hated the confinement that it provides to you but yeah. Go to jail and a vague idea shoot at Foley's. Isaac will be there for real long time. I would assume so. I would assume so. So Aaron, one of the things it I will Masters personally is how do you keep sanity you been on the job for 15 years and to your point about being a Christian man and follow Christ and Shawn the remain sensitive to the leading Holy Spirit in your daily life and with your family life and you have to come to separate these two things because I've cc a lot of things that you never talk about anyone is Lotta stuff that goes on this quite violent and really really harmful to the mind into the soul Howdy Howdy deal with all that well you probably officers in general. I say officers in general before I've heard myself. We probably compartmentalize, which isn't good for anybody whatsoever. Specially some of the stuff we see Elroy set I've been on at least permit 15 years. He shorted me three. I've been amazed by what industry you have data but no, you don't look like you been on the right hand of the Navy is having on their eggs in yourself.

I don't know you just trying when I'm off. I try to be off. You know my new position of Police Department has afforded me the ability to spend more time with my wife tickets.

Yes, it's all good as it is in my doctors and is to come on this is all good folks is you can tell this is a this is a very Merry since the man that loves the Lord and distal racist about his family, but this is the kind of pressure.

These these offices on both men and women we need to remember that when we see these folks out there that are protect us.

Everything that was absolutely just absolutely that we do. We honor them and let them how much we appreciate as I'm sure they don't they don't they don't hear enough that that that we appreciate what they do lean in and I think I think Roy sometimes we we have a Tennessean and may be in X military person cannot have people come up to me all this time saying thank you for your service. Thank you for your service. Why don't we do that for our meeting women in Luke come up to them and say thank you for your service.

Don't be and I'm a take a national incident. Don't be kicking them out of a restaurant and some of you know who I'm referring to in reference to the story that happened a few months back. Officers were kicked out because a person felt threatened. Come on now. Yeah me for real. This is man talk with time management is really listless before. Really, let's put it out here on the table because as as man of God. We need to take a stand for God right and that means that we have to look at everyone through the eyes of God through Scripture right it will back to that the incident, the restaurant will been real interesting is the people as a way to support officers whoever's in store. So if you not serve them not serving us. And as Elijah stood up and walked absolutely absolutely in solidarity.

The problem is now I will say don't realize this but more people than not, people realize come up to us on a database may appreciate the job you do officers were praying for you when you never care about men happens all the time ambience with crosses all racial divides courses, you know, people might think I'm saying is almost as much why people or whatever commitment know no time. Inasmuch a thank youse from the African-American community is a do from the Caucasian and I'll be honest in the last year probably got more from the African-American community than I did from the cognitive and community. Sometimes I think that there is no some people might just have a measures that appreciate that. They just assume are going to be there you have the phone to call the police are going to comes no side turn the water on. Turn your lights on.

You just assume that you but and yeah you call us guests want whether we want to go or not we go we go to calls all the time the loan officers are like why am I going I'm enough told Roy about outgoing calls for people call because her seven-year-old little boy doesn't want to get in a car at a grocery store while I can't parent your child, but if you call. We are going to send an officer out dryness issued best way we can put that little boy I would tell you he did get in that car just on the surface, I step out of the car. Folks already can see Aaron, but Aaron is that is not a small man he is. He is that of the larger variety.

I'm not fat as a mean fact that it's been a pleasure having here with would like.

It's come back another time we can have some more time with them will. How would you like to close this not absolute. We had a great time with Aaron and I just like to say man from Proverbs chapter 3 verse number seven do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones. Be obedient to the word of God. Listen to the word of God go to to your local house of worship and just don't listen but listen and receive take that word out talk about it with your family on the way home we wrap up today show.
