Our hosts will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior a black eye and a white guy black guy Roy Jones the weigela and we have two guest in the studio with Roy today. We have written to be with the kids outdoor zone and we have a Randy Wilson with the family research Council and we just want to talk about things, and that what they're knowing in all of the things that's involved around the kid zone and family research Council gets greatly and will were getting ready for an instrument at the time of this error in your it will have already occurred, so little secret in the ocean tell you but the videos and visiting with us for some 2020 and one of the key topics is restoring Biblical manhood with all the snow was his first serving father.

Second being the father third in the husband to the wife you married would be in the father's the piece that will talk about with Rick and excited about what kids outdoor zones about how TJ started the minister several years ago and even his own life story was done.

Rick and his things are so pleased to have Randy herein and I met last year is getting ready for this project and not so beneficial for John's written budget with us tonight going to be here. Thanks while we laid off for Rick, won't you just give us a little bit of background about kids outdoor zone and then will pick up some questions that Randy feel free to jump in with questions and then will flip over this with topical family research Council, the men's ministry rent is working.

Thanks hi guys, it's great to be here kids outdoor zone was first in Austin, Texas, and it was a product. Our story that came out of Houston TJ granny's founder and at eight in the eighth grade 13 years old, he found himself homeless. His dad took a bottle of Jim Bain and left the family and his mom needed to minister to take care of the rest of her siblings and her younger and TJ just decided that he would want to move back. I think it was Alabama or Illinois achievement and so he found himself homeless in the eighth grade and through a a lot of you can imagine, trial and tribulation alcohol, drugs addictions through life.

He was rescued by the our heavenly father, save my family took him in by Jesus Christ being introduced by family took a minute and I will give you all the details of the story, but it AE father a child that took him to Austin and so he was not gonna let that boy be raised that God just stepped into that hard praise and I met his wife Sandra had two more children. We decided I need to go to church and walk this faith out that I have just a beautiful story.

He's got he's got a book you he finally wrote his biography year 13 is what it's called it's available on Amazon and it's a great read on our website as well. Kids outdoor zone.com and that journey took him down the path of realizing the power of mentoring boys.

His childhood helped him see the power of the outdoors and any found men in the church that had blue jeans and boots owning to get your hands dirty and had gloves in the in the front seat for justice, God is good, sometimes unengaged and initiated by the church, so he was teaching a Sunday school class to be large classes teach little principle you take amounts out the rest of Sunday morning. For some dirty needs with parents love this cupola saw the kids love in him. He said boy showing efficient next week and they said of course 20 boys razor so he said Oman I got a figure out how to do this so we walked and sure enough he found a cup was buddy's on the back row. We went to church and he said yes. I need some help. I will text was fishing. Next, we can only help and and they had 37 boys 10 or 12 guys, some said was best best day that I'm sure boys were just you just taken Dan man felt like they were making a difference in boys life. TJ got real intentional and brought around that some programming and give the book spell that out incredibly well but when your job with sports Academy Academy Academy's borderline and him out of the picture and writing curriculum for the man and then God told it all back together beautifully and and then birthing yet he was looking for what God want to do with it in the launched in Lynchburg Virginia in 2013 at a conference. He said the graduate do this at a conference all week to get to a conference and had 100 and hundred and 20 men sign up for the nation while I was one of those guys and 6 1/2 years ago we started our kids outdoor.

Oh well, not quite some time and we just seen transformation happened what happened with his group and his group. What started out as he started sharing the gospel being intentional means boys without dad.

Some of them, not even church and boy started getting set will TJ did have a religious background church background so he just just septic Christ will come home. They just wanted to written that well they just took us right out of Matthew and just started baptizing boys and they reduce fishing camps on the coast down in Houston and boys get saved. He just baptizing the reasons why these boys would be coming from broken homes yells you might ask you Rick is that the would you say of the and I know you got ministers across the US and I think in some of the countries for members correctly so if you would give her the demographics of the population.

The boys are involved or most of them without fathers or the fathers, the just unengaged. What works the demographics of your sure we don't we don't have we don't require a lot of notetaking and record processing back to us) what we hear in conversation is usually a little over half or are fatherless okay. What's amazing to me and and you guys will know more about this and I will, but the statistics right now.

40% of our kids are grown up in a fatherless on a staggering if you just grab a bunch you go get some fatherless to write about those races for the family will certainly be without a father right you got some statistics. We use it have been published and these are getting accommodated. So I guess it's getting worse but 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders are fatherless 90% of all homeless and runaway children are fatherless, 71% of high school dropouts father Omar, 63% of youth suicide is from a fatherless home 80% of rate rapists are fatherless youth. It's a displaced anger issue.

70% of juveniles a state operated institutions. Fatherlessness is justice huge things is happening in our culture, and I'm afraid it's incubating on itself.

Another generational sure you fatherlessness and it's moving into me up.

If this were disease with money would even call it a pandemic. Yes, yes and what we found, at least in our ministry.

I know I'm sure another's that the men of the church are beautifully equipped to step into this. You don't have to be a theologian take more efficient, but it all and you all you have to have is a relationship with Jesus Christ release even know about it, to share your story with the boy that that therein lies the challenge right we go get men stepping off the sidelines as we were talking earlier in that manager listen to the program.

This what we've been all about stone to get you off the sidelines and get you engaged and thus the problem in the direction of statistics.

We share this before statistics speak at church level.

Most church populations close US at least 60%, 62% are women made up of women 38 to 40% are men. And if you take that piece of the men that are active in our just sitting on the sidelines and got even smaller ratio of opportunity for servants to come alongside these young men right and they suggest they do a really good hand and what we find true is that men need. Well, that's the best the best the. The unknown were the hidden benefit right is that when the men start engaging then the onion starts to get pillbox windows and they stop the tenderness that God is hardcoded us with starts to surface still could be that worry but we can still be that loving man loves another man in the biblical sense loves his children special.

The fatherless children has really laid it on TJ's heart. My heart to make this make ministry as best as simple as possible.

You don't have to.

You have to have it all figured out midway doesn't need a man and has it all figured out and that could be spiritually and in life you growing up, sometimes to tell them what you know not. And there so we avoid potholes like we've made a decision as possible to provide all the training and you do it is a group of men in your church.

If the crew of the church will start a club, we provide all the training and we provide all the curriculum we just want those men focused on the relationship boys and so you certainly can provide your own devotion is greatly taken fish that is up to you but you don't have to. We got one provided for you in the curriculum and then we have the process of how you toddle back together when you cook a hot dog or a hamburger before you send them off at the 1 o'clock right what sounds like a great opportunity manager listening and will have more information on our website will put a link to the kids outdoor zone on our website talking.com and also have the contact information. I'm sure Rick will be one happy to come talk to you. He's here in Virginia. Please close and local list transition for just a moment over to Randy because these two go hand-in-hand. You know Randy said part of the stand courageous movement with the family research Council and also the head of the men's director of men's ministry at the family research Council, so Randy I could see shaking have this or go through this and acknowledging you your see in this is a demand level right at the adult level and what's going on. The complacency across the US within the walk Christ and in the geyser church and the guys wanted churches were talking earlier about the just disengaged in the water sure little bit about what your role is a family research Council come out and research Council seen the need to stand up and stand courageous events and so forth Yaro.

Our vision at the family research Council started back in 1982 is a see a prevailing culture in which all human life is valued. Families flourish in religious liberty thrives since the that's what drives us day in and day out into come across the stats family research Council, future shared, Rick. It's his right between the eyes. That's what got Tony's attention particularly Gen. Boykin came on until you tell me if you Randy. Randy if you could hold on prophesy. Randy was talking about things in reference to the family research Council, so we want to pick up those thoughts again. You things will require your sharing the stats in the research we've done you will run across same thing the crisis in his interface so what we've seen in a God allowed William Jerry Boykin to come on staff as the Executive Vice President Tony Perkins present but that he brings a whole different story equation. He's been talking men for a number of years just talking about not only his testimony being one of the original Delta and all the battles he's been in and then just seeing men respond to different situations firsthand and coming to culture outside the military world it say it is that a brand-new world is so in talking to men across the country sharing his story. But then calling men and what got Tony's attention in general to seeing this for a while, as well as when the call was made for men, in repentance and clear the table and start afresh. Then they responded as he we've started at this dinner. Men need to be told. Really, what to do. They want to be told what to do I think is why they thrive so much in the military is because they're given direct orders and whether, given direct orders they can they can understand that they can nail it's a little ambiguous at home. It's a little subjective at home a year that you're the husband knew the man of the house you're supposed to do this stricture.

Why this was a new children in all this is coming Adam in the really has been a foundational teaching because of this issue of fatherlessness is well and so they're scrambling it and men don't like to fail, I will. I don't anyway.

I hate feeling is so they tend to back away and when the men back away with the our women are survivors right they step in right in over the last several decades. This whole thing is shifted you look back at World War II in the 20 to 25-year-olds who fought and won the war on two different theater fronts are are are a whole different animal these days and so what we do is we we bring a message that calls them to five principles of man that we see in the Bible. This biblical masculinity and so what is it was like to be defender was at mean biblically. Was it mean to be a provider not in a financial sense. We talk about all the ways we can provide just even by her presence presence is so need to describe the impact of fatherlessness is it is so negative on our children because they need that father's presence in the affirmation that comes from them as well and then we all need a battle, but we don't men don't do well alone right in isolation. So we need in their assigned military. Gen. Boykin talks about this are assigned a battle buddy in their their their charge to cover the other six in in dangerous situations and so we need this out the world.

Real world as well. And there's a chapel of the home is the instructor the home and we walk through these five principles and we give them tangible things they can get their hands on and then direction is to okay here's here's a a Bible reading that you can do every day and we we bring with her to questions at the end of that Bible reading so a man can step take that you can either read or listen to it with his family asked the questions have a discussion there and then pray so we give them something to do this quite easy, takes 15 minutes and they grow into that they gain confidence into that, especially when the wife is been praying for her husband into the take the lead spiritually to pray to read the Scriptures through her nurture to the children he sees that I can do this and the encouragement comes as a I said and they grow into that. So the neediness of men out there is overwhelming today and they are looking when they hear the truth which is their native language based on who God created them to be. Genesis 15 three the Lord is a warrior when they're told and explained that this is who you are, Jesus Christ, and revelations coming back on a horse with a sword to his side anemias fit for battle. That's who we are created to be. But how does that look in the everyday world we walk that out with them. Is it Ron Johnson said when men stand on the sidelines with hands in pocket and faces downcast and shame as Adam once did. All good things die and once gone there almost gone forever. So is this this will shame a week we could talk about the shame you guys know what shame is in a man's life it, it's when you're walking away from God. You're not walking with God. The enemy comes in and you stumble in the fall. You're drawn to all these things that intuitively know is wrong if you don't if you don't engage in Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, then the enemy has all kinds of open doors to put his shame on you and then you don't feel worthy right and then you don't lead you don't reach out you don't communicate and that's for you end up is on the sidelines base down because you can't look anybody in the eyes because the shame it's covering you and you and you know just because you fall doesn't mean your failure. That's right, it means you need to just get up right now. Get out and get back in the race yeah got output because it's a marathon not a sprint will look at David, look at the example of David. What he felt about as far as you can fall committed adultery and murder in the all in the same scene within the Bible and Alden and his story if he could be restored any mentalistic store and you know we at Scott talk about the Scripture all the time. Proverbs 25 and verse 28 and it says he who does not have rule over his own spirit is like a city without walls, broken down so you know we don't have to walk around with the Pharisee spirit to speak you know we we we are man who once we understand what we need to do as man and we get that information that Randy was just speaking about yeah we will talk about this that out over dinner. I'm the type of guy who wants to follow up with you now want to know how has that information. Change your life, what you doing with it to make it come alive and and active so that man can see Christ in you, and they want some of that fruit that you are you exhibiting you know as as Galatians chapter 5 verses 22 and 23 says you know food or spirit of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, weakness, gentleness, faith, and self-control. And there is no law when you're doing these, there is no law that can challenge this none because God said there is no law well will what you do is your your giving time. Your your giving place to ask a question of a man and then you give time to listen this time to listen. These days, men have stuff to talk about into say they want to unload this heavy burden, writing, and so that's what weakness is really so easy. If I can say that if we will just offer our time and ask a question and let a man unload.

He will find the answers in his unloading is answering that question God will lead, guide and direct them where he needs to go know God is given each of us. We talk to men a place to stand is not on the sidelines is not covered in shame he has. He is given us a Redeemer, Jesus Christ. He is given us men all that we need. Now we must take because of God before us will stand against this truth.

That will that goes out and doesn't return void goes out and it resonates in the Holy Spirit uses this truth. The truth about who we are is men and in then there's this counseling and instructing that goes on the night watches and through the day and God will enlighten him and he will show the man things to pay attention to and in you will be guided in the way that she needs to go will one of the things it resonates with me as listen to every body is is time for us to got to set aside time to do these very things. If you're the person he download the need to set aside time to marry up with a brother that can listen the second piece is the brothers that are out there walking strong don't need to be too tied down with busy work. Whether it's within the church or outside the church they got a fun time about what the whole mission was about to make disciples of all nations right so if will do those things and then Randy and Jim is going talk about this weekend is is that one of the main distractions with men these days is gaming that's second to we all know with the first is pornography on funds and everything else of those two things are Satan's greatest tools right now to use one of the on the building with you Randy is that if a person feels leaden and open enough to open the heart up with you then you need to protect that information need to protect what they've just shared with you that needs to be between you and your brother as Randy put the battle buddy so you need to have your brothers back so that that information doesn't go but between the two of you and God. And you help him and coach him through whatever struggle he's having because if that information gets out. You could lose a brother for lifetime in the kingdom could lose man that says hey this is what it's all about it on your part of this is a really key factors as we move out through this process of one of the other things to think if you're hearing and listening you got a group of men who the very passionate about serving other men and also serving children submit if you're listening. We're expecting you to get off the sidelines were challenging you today to get off the sidelines to get involved in your church local body and the officers give engage these children's lives know love you listen probably got children that you got sitting on the sidelines that you not investing were challenging today to do something about that.

So really, how do people come to Christ they meant to listen everyone listen to the show we make it real simple, Christ died for this technology or sooner. Confess your sins asking in your heart turn, repent start following Morgan interbody Fellowship. It's that simple to get baptized at the local place of worship we going to be coming back with these two men on next week's show so we just thank God for the opportunity to have love, Rick and Randy Anna course always annoy you in the studio like God is so good, so man talk radio today show.
