Justice or Racial Profiling?

You know we were talking earlier today in reference to story that came out actually happened back in February and you know it's now also like hit the wires pretty heavy about an incident that happened down in in Georgia so so talk a little bit about that. Well you did to me. It's amazing that it's taken two months for to get out to be quite honest if it was anywhere in the news back in February or the first marked out in her bonnet and I don't know if you had either most people have spoken with not heard about this last week or so, exactly, and so I was watching video earlier this week, early morning just picked up off the web and so said the two men shoot young man jogging, you know.

So then what this all about the start looking to white men had shot a black man and understood hospices that they thought he might've been some I have been doing break-ins within the neighborhood but you know it's it's I was just shocked will now be very very candid here disappointed shocked in this time of unrest because of what were doing with you know across the world into so many different facets know with code 19 and just the lack of I guess value of life across the board and then just to see what I saw on the video suggested it set me back on my heels to be quite honest and you know Roy when I look at the video as well and when I saw what I saw, you know, there was a lot more questions.

I think the answers probably you had the same thought. But this thing happened down in Brunswick Georgia and I have in my hands just an excerpt from an Associated Press story that was aired on and in Jacksonville, Florida, and what it stated is that this guy mind are very he was jogging, but the story I'm just gonna read it verbatim and he said all Aubrey's mother Wanda Cooper is asking for justice in her son's death. The police report states on Sunday, February 23 at about 1 PM police responded to an incident of shots fired at the intersection of scintilla and homes, drive when Glenn County police arrive, they found Aubrey 25 date on the scene and officer began speaking with Gregory Michael named as a witness to the incident. Gregory McMichael skews me make Michael who works several years for the Brunswick Police Department before working as a investigator in the Brunswick District attorneys office told police there were several break-ins in the neighborhood. McMichael told police he saw Aubrey running down scintilla drive. He then ran inside his home and asked his son Travis McMichael to help him confront Aubrey McMichael and his son got a shotgun and a handgun because they said they didn't know if Aubrey was armed or not the police report says the father and son got into their truck and drove down subtilly of drive toward Borough Lord Dr., Gregory McMichael stated when they arrived at the intersection of scintilla drive and homes drive they saw Aubrey running down birth on road in the report. McMichael says they attempted to cut off Aubrey but he turned around and began running back in the other direction. McMichael and his son continue to follow Aubrey. They shouted stop stop.

That's when McMichael says Aubrey attacked his son and the two men started fighting over the gun at which point Travis McMichael fired a shot a second shot later there was another Aubrey fell down on the pavement and then his mother says I'm feeling very discouraged at this point she told this to first Coast news, which again this article that I'm reading from is is from Florida Jacksonville. I just think about how they could how they could allow these two men to kill my son and not be arrested.

That's what I can understand Cooper added Aubrey was a football player to graduate from Brunswick high school in 2012.

He went on to attend South Georgia technical College, Cooper said her son was pursuing a career as an electrician leave merit Coopers attorney tells the first Coast news. They are concerned about this case due to McMichael ties to law enforcement community ensure and then Mert says McMichael and his son are using a citizens arrest statute in Georgia to justify the shooting. The statue states and again I'm holding this from the from the paper or reporter and not the actual status as it appeared in Georgia. The statue states that a private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in the presence or within his immediate knowledge we repeat repeat again will the statue states that a private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in the presence or within his immediate knowledge we have no reason to believe that either actor here Travis or Gregory observed a crime.

Mert said so that's as basically and it had it had a few more the things in their but I think the question here Roy is it several fold. Question number one, they didn't see him actually committing a crime right so it it was it was suspected because they had reports within the neighborhood that break-ins were occurring and in in an in another story. They said that he met the description right, which meant what young black guy's lien that's that's the description. So is running down the road so this is their problem candidate so minutes it was obvious racial profiling or whatever you want to call it in his latest took a stereotype to locate his muscular guy and so why not just call the police as I hate sailors govern through labor who has break-ins come check it out for some you as I don't know if instead you being a former police officer assume you felt empowered to some degree go do what he did but you listen to shots in the can. In the article you just read that one was the video.

There were three shamans in looking at the video. There was a shot fired before there was ever engagement before there was ever engagement with the witness what happens when love shows you have a telephone. According to the video and it appeared one of was who he was coming around the truck there was no because there was no altercation. There was no physical contact at that point he was trying to run around.

That's when the first shot was at least from my vantage point and watch the video then that's when we get into the fight over the gun because background I don't know if the young young man been hit at that point, and that's why started fighting just one what one would have to question was, he hit when he came around the corner on the first shot went off and I was far from the top of the person at the top of the pickup truck] that was without was fired and then watch it, not you. You would been frightened some I will the guns.

Well, maybe it's it's fight or flight. At that point he's already been shot out so he's become drunk from truck there's another person with a gun amid us that to me that's a natural reaction, it is still try to get to do that person take the gun away because you you try to defend yourself, you been shot at you. You have done anything exactly so and then we started to run away. There's another good one and one shot goes off while they're together, and then another one goes when he starts to go away soon. I believe there were three shots of our member think you watched as well. I just don't know will just breaks my heart. Yossi recognizes us all believing in view what she's going through how she's feeling the loss of her son, so, so tragic senseless it all in and I think when with the ministry you know that that talk a mass and you know we are breaking down the walls of race and denomination. This is one of the reasons why were talking about the subject, of course, you know, because it's a subject that's always on the minds of people and even in the midst of all the covert, 19, and the things that's going on, you know, crime still doesn't stop but you have to you know you have to ask yourself a question if these things, you know it.

If you suspected someone of something and then you using the law to justify what you're doing then that in and of itself is is a question you know so so you trying to justify your actions by by using the law and yet they didn't see him commit a crime based on, you know, based on what the law states that in reference to our citizens arrest.

Well, there's one thing that will for sure, this nothing to the local ensued NAACP leader in the area said look we still need unity in this community is really one thing, it's the could be said without doubt is that the this this this situation is got to be illuminated to into the whole nation to say look, folks, it's time that you don't make rash judgments or don't jump on the gates with without these types of judgments on people when you're not even involved in the end it with facilities or make a phone call, but the other piece of that is that these men will live with this thruster like that's right, they will live with the solicitor life and you know getting past coming up on a break right now. What would have been the, the reaction and are in the my heart of hearts I know that would've been a different reaction. It would be an immediate response would be an immediate investigation immediate probably holding until further at least taken the custard to look at the bottom of Geertz.

Two months later not to take in the custody and now this video out on Helms videos been out that video just surface the of the car that we were walking knowing who was following that situation for the start be semi-dominant in the neighborhood, time, and I yeah I don't know either, but I think it was just recently released the audio I don't think it was release you know before it made this national news site so you know there's but again you know it it still leaves the question that there's there's more questions and answers and less about the situation, but I think it's a systemic problem right and I think this goes back to generational you think their steel and I hate this way, but there's that hardwired stuff from people early on in life.

Recognizing the 60s and 70s when things were distorted to shift and still yet today there are still errors and struggles we see so I don't know if it's going be another generational thing until we get past this generation that these millennial's in all this group asked general descriptor have a different look view of everything than what their parents, grandparents, all those people had you know it's it's just really set realistic choice that I don't know what works for it is in you know you start getting in a lot of celebrities you know started chiming in to get out of Arnesen and/or Lebron James made a comment about sin were literally being hunted and that's that's what he said that fact. That's the that's the quote here that I got in again this is from the Associated Press and he had heavens. He said heavens above to your family. This was Lebron James on Twitter and he actually did this on May 6, according to the article but yeah that's what that's what he stated here and he joined four calls of justice that the two men be arrested and held until you know of investigation is completed. That's what he was called for them to be arrested and held.

That's what he was calling for. According to the article here so you know, there is again you know this. This age old mentality that's really has compelled the mind of people and you know when we as children of God. When we see it from the outside and we are looking in. You know at situations like this it you know it it moves me in a sense to say that I think God that we're doing what we're doing in order to combat some of this mentality that's out there. Yeah me. That's what this whole ministry is about right that we want to break down the walls, race, denomination, and you know I guess what goes back to this particular situation more heart wills that if the if the dad had just led the way this today is governed through neighborhoods might be.

Might be the person of interest.

We just need to call the police and if you want to go falling around the neighborhood. You shall be to have follow a young man that we think might be in associated with these these break-ins and don't do anything in the end, and don't go armed now know a lot of people carry concealed. You know, many, many of our friends were known about this in the true blue about women's abortion support gun ownership in the but also support control sport training and support.

The right people doing that not not just everybody doing that's because it's the thing to do and have a concealed carry doesn't mean you record errata bennies, situations that all and see it at the desk. I think again that's at mentality L because it when people get that you know steel in their hands. You know they feel empowered, even though no one is really given them the authority to do with a very good on it because they say I have the right care is gone and I have. I suspect that this is happening. So they go out and start doing these things on a whim. Yeah, and in the if the dad had led the way as it is this a wise decision.

If he had just asked himself an axis of this a wise decision for us to be going out with a good natural answer in the obviousness would be no right exactly so and then they should if he had just paused the pause button for moment, and then soak… Call the police and with the handle Wilson Oco Cisco router on the hood and pursuers that will distill the police were ripped where were you really felt that commitment but you goes back it was all suspicion profile right but they didn't see if there were not immediate witness or immediate knowledge of him breaking into homes and am reminded of. I've sat in years ago just sat in in the court and listen to attorneys in argue cases and years ago and when an attorney knows he's going to you know get a rejection in reference to a statement that he is making. He knows is going to someone's gun object, I'm glad I know they going to object when I'm going to say this but his ideology is to put the thought in the mind of the jurors) you know and and so when it comes to things like this. I think we have to really be careful because what it does is if we listen to so much social media and we start looking at all these comments and we start reading and we say while this individual here how he has no ideal of the facts of what he's talking about. He's just making no opinion and see this is this is again we start getting into the opinions right rather than the facts and of course we we are not stating the truth general truth in reference to something because where we are responding emotionally. More than likely someone else's comment well you know of the opinion like you talk about those two people that recused himself right exactly this Catholic maybe one was an attorney maybe another law enforcement officer, something that they recused himself percent. Look, I don't see anything wrong with this but because of the really superb step inside and that that they made a comment there was nothing to pursue unit, which I think is very interesting because to your point will they took the word of these two gentlemen without doing any due diligence, at least from the indications we've got until now. They said okay you know you're right. You're you're justified in what you did your behavior right so therefore what I can investigate certain until the protest started until the illumination came on event now is can be taken for grand jury. From what I understand.

This letter was pushing for, and I think even some of the local authorities that have agreed that the grand jury will decide whether it was for not. And you know I think just from what I've read, and without reacting. You know that there's there's enough suspicion with their actions as they did in order to say let's move this forward, you know, but I'm sure that they're going to, or they have already question these men and you know because they got statements from them, you know, after it occurred, and the investigation obviously it is ongoing and we hope that when that evidence is present, then things will begin to become a lot clearer as to what their intentions were. Because if you know from from what I've read so far there is no justification. You know, and in what they did know, and in the statement that you read will from work until didn't line up with the video because they whether the statement read released the description it sounds like they said he started fighting with the sun. 40 shots were fired which is contradictory to what the video what we could see on the video should say because there's no way they could have been fighting with these young males on the other corner young man was on the other corner of the vehicle right so this young man came from the right side of the passenger side and the other guy was up in the bed of the truck on the link you sent was the father so yeah just bizarre invokes the whole point is conversations with what you know we don't accept it.

Exact this is not a behavior that any of us except we've got to love one another.

Christ commands us this the greatest commandment of all to love your neighbor as yourself right then and second grades command that we know what the person is a way. The point being in a worldly day that that love your neighbor as yourself. If this is just taken place.

If this is just happen then then this would never have happened if they had just shown love and grace because grace is not like he's killed somebody as a break mental health possessions is a life really worth it is a young man been taken out just a family destroyed worth an opinion when he mentioned her.

It was their opinion. That's what's happened here, folks, this is wrong. This is wrong.
