This is Truth Network welcome to mannitol and brought you by DAW. CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they're devoted to breaking down the walls of race and accommodation and challenging and that take their God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white guy. Welcome to man. Will Hardy the black guy who never would Jones do I get it and we two brothers from different mothers, but same father may mandate and Roy, we got a guess here today that some may recognize him from his show, bridging the gap minister to the house in the house with us today and we talked about a very sensitive subject everybody on the news have seen what has happened out there with George Floyd in everybody has had the opinion about you know what should be done in order to bring about some type of reconciliation so we won't talk about that today because it's it's a topic that needs to be discussed and if it's discussed, it should be discussed in the church because this is where things like this should be talked about because we are the arms, legs, eyes of Christ while we are here in this body weight is good to have you here. Was this a blessing this blessing to him. I wanted to be here. You know I'll be following you guys around you guys.

He handed me a bit as I love to live with you guys adorned with men's ministry and that's one of the first ministries that I start out was with with men's ministry. So I just appreciate you guys in the love that you have for the Lord and for others you know shows and what you do appreciate you, try to make breakfast. The rest tomorrow morning. You see, I got the AT&T guys come into our studio to studio histories, dance, I got a beat at 8 o'clock, trying to figure it out, try to figure it out but it I got a call and uses like a most repair guys got wind of 2012 will be an excellent as well and I don't want to miss it. We missed the flight straight. Just about that will be 8 o'clock where heavy and so good. Get this thing started on me. It's been very difficult two months.

I guess we should just another highlight in the challenges we go to this country and of course across the world here with racism as you were talking before show doing it certainly just is not just between black and whites between multiple races.

Some within the same race and just different economic groups that cause the separation than a lot of things going on so were just excited to get started. Hi folks, we know this will be a little uncomfortable for if your listing could be a little bit uncomfortable for all of us because you know we we haven't free for you to rehearse this thing never talk ahead of time.

We say this get together and get this thing started.

So were basically come you live with this conversation so you here as is being discussed and if it's if it's hard for you. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then you should be uncomfortable really exactly because you know we we want to step out of the comfort zone. That's right. And let me lead off by saying this we the three of us are all followers of Christ.

We love each other's brothers in Christ because of money to several years now, and that's all that matters.

So if any earthly parts of those conversations come in. This is his brothers in Christ will hold each other and check Jesus what God wants us to do this is where we need to be as a society doesn't. That's the good part about being followers of Christ.

You can have difficult conversations within the day.

You know you love each other and that's a key principle and truth.

Truth is sweet. The truth is sweet but it can be better canceled honey to the mouth going down better and yes it is so win-win listeners when you see what you're seeing that's happening in the news and happening now around the world is not just Americans around the world. It's in London it's in Spain it's in Belgium. All of these protests now have spread around the world. And so when we look at this we say what what is the issue that that's what's going on in the mind right now. What is the issue that is being faced with America and what we have seen on the news and reference because Roy just three or four weeks ago we were talking about it on my library and now we went talking about George flowing so you know it's like this turnaround. I remember you had asked me during that conversation, you know what what was it, or how was I feeling and one of things I said was here it goes again. Well, here it goes again so so now we we are sort we sort of like when full circle yet. I'd like to know when you say here it goes again.

What exactly does that mean when you say here it goes again in your heart. What is that's resonating to when you see so here goes again. We talk about the death of a black man. We talk on the African-American men we talk about the fact the police officer actually solves involved will make sure were clear to the list right when I say here it goes again or is it just the death of a man. I believe it's it's overall you know it it it's the over all arching effect of when people see number one constantly on the news, police brutality and we got I got brought some things with me that we don't talk about in reference to how brutality of the police or violence of the police department can be diminish.

Based on the statistics that we can talk about later, but when use when you see and we will talk about this earlier. A policeman with his neck on the back of an individual. Okay, we saw that happen. We saw in South Carolina where a man who was basically running away from the policeman shot in the back. We see what Ahmad Aubrey so we see when Michael Brown up there in and was in Missouri so we have all of these examples, so will we take each example of what we've seen and we say what if that individual who was on the other side of that fence.

When that man was running away in South Carolina. What if the video wasn't recorded.

What would have been the end result right so see so see so so the telephone camera has actually changed the mentality of how things are projected to the media and the truth eventually is coming out so yeah so when I when I say that that's that's what I mean. I mean that the whole the whole scope is not just one specific item within the scope is the whole scope right so when this started the last couple weeks when full statistics actually my youngest son have a conversation about because I was troubled by what continues to go on between whites and Blacks and infant just in the breakdown in relationships right because it's were never going to get any better.

We talked about if we can special for is the body of Christ can't do it right. Lord knows that the world get right so statistically. He said that if he looked at the numbers into to this point there in 2019 or 260 or 270 like American black men in America killed by police officers in the in the same year in the mouth, maybe a few thousand 360, some white men killed by police officer. So the point being that targets a holistic view is that there 600 men that were killed and who granted you know, and we know it's it's it's more publicized to your wording earlier. It was on the media about the black men that are being have been killed but we haven't seen any about the white man that had been killed wrongfully by or with excessive force and and let's be real clear were not be in down on any of our police officers weeks write what you we love you we know you have a very difficult job absolutely want to put that clause out there as well is like any professional like any any company or any family there's always some people that are out there doing something that had been with the police officer before we got her time and we had an initial program for a few weeks. He said Roy did you realize that that guy had 1818 complaints on him prior to this incident. This particular officer not been dealt with. So there was a breakdown in the process right. In fact, he said he should never even got in he would've made it the most psychological reasons which which I thought was extra so because of the fact he said this me curse over 19 years who were Aaron has not had he's been 19 years. This will have a complex of you have for excessive force. There's a big man, so he's 64 a said zero so I think this the testers will throw that out there as part of our conversation, we say here. Go get them just one what that what that meant. And trust me, you know my heart broken hearted by all of this, but I think it's important for listeners to know it's not just one side to doings, earlier it is. It happens on both sides of the fence right answer that let's get Mr. Kennedy and hear what what you see here as the issue while you know this so much on the tape to tape and and I have a lot to say but but I will style start right here.

You know with the camera set up the phone camera because that exposed it with it without that we nobody would know anything a mess and so you have to go before the camera, and this realized company events was never was. It wasn't the publicized right so this is this is not this is not a 50-year-old thing. This is a 400 year thing you know what you what you actually have this whole problem it's it's a boiling point everything just to a boiling point. You know and and is boiling down the key principle is that we before it was just it was just African-Americans protesting enough we have the world. I mean it was hundred thousand some people in New Zealand protest walking down talk about black clouds mounting and also what one says that this is more publicized now so change is going to come, changes being made. But the thing about about the this individual thing because you have to, you know the oppressed. If the oppressed is the only one talking about the oppression it's never going to change, you have to have the oppressed, sore get to a place where this is wrong and is wrong now. I think what you have now you have a lot of people that are empathizing not just have been empathizing with our culture because you not matching your kid, you just take your kid from coming so we had to. This is a 400 year problem is get to a boiling point of five.

The police, tape that's the key principle like that I can be police, nor could, because I will be one of the guys. I'm not going take Noel's neck will take a loss sends one coming in to the situation with my mind like you know I'm not. I'm not so so some people can't be police some people shouldn't be police rights and that's with a mental that they have to check these people like to point out that suggested that's that's that's in deep stuff. These people have to be.

You know, I think everything needs to go right now we are right now is it has to go to some type of police reform they have to. When the foundation is just as messed up get the tear the whole foundation down and rebuild it, and that's what with that's where it is, but that's where should be going right now so assistance a lot of stuff. Well I don't disagree with you doing I got the quote we have to be cognizant of this is to cut whatever the ratio is best. Statistics don't lie the numbers of occurrences that we talk about them and come back to understand the scope of there are some bad folks out there. We have, we all agree on both sides that folks that are on the civilian side by personal job right will be back here just a moment. Thank you very much your CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month have Bible discussions and fellowship. Welcome back, where the good news through introvert from the brakes was good to have you back with so as we're talking up for break doing.

We talk about statistically speaking right so I guess it's like anything you have to get to take the total number of incidents against the total population of the total number of occurrences that go on within whatever profession is. In this case, the total number of incidents that police officers do their job day in day out.

No issues and level people. They try to coach people even when they read and spat on their getting the right word spends a lot of on all those things they still do it right every day so we have these situations where things have gone wrong either because the person should've been job to begin with, or they've just gotten so complacent with life because of all they see every day and then and then of course let's not forget what was it like three years ago that officers are being killed shot at random.

I mean, may I think is inside three years wasn't so I couldn't imagine putting on my uniform every day and not first. Not knowing what the summer is going shoot at me or just kill me walk up to the car and executing or if a movie shot did not Michael or Gordon to domestic situations are very, very difficult job very difficult when it has to be some type of of training and response and in staying up with these people because please see some of the horrific thing.

I mean it's terrible things that their career and you know it's on and on and on AC day in and day out, you know it. Now show me next season some horrible thing and you know what happened is functional, yet does it did desensitize him and it actually makes you very callous and so I think the same thing happens people growing up. That's one thing we talk to back to what our whole job is as an organization is getting men to take the proper got assigned roles and we know in this one, things all talk at what role does the lack of father playing in the situations where people get into trouble if you get into trouble you get arrested there's some there some basis behind getting arrested right for breaking the law and get arrested. This is the separate the in the inappropriate behavior.

The police officer. Let's get to the core issue of I would like to throw that out is a discussion point if you're not getting in trouble. You have an account with Lisa generally speak now, there are those racial profiling situation we see works like it stopped because of color skin.

We've talked about that's that's back to wrong that's back to training this back to loving on people instead of expecting the worst so that I spell that out. There's a question well before you before we dive into that.

I want to go back to something that was stated earlier, is that all policemen are not like the police that we solving the neck on the back and you know his neck on the back of a guy on the ground.

All please select that and see what that is. Is it stereotypical is what it is.

If it's a stereotype. If you wear the uniform you automatically evil.

And that's not the case exactly right. You know you you you if you African-American you play basketball and eat watermelon. That's a stereotype you know an Asian individual. All of them know martial arts seek these stereotypical ideologies is what break down the system of really concrete thinking the way we should go into a discussion will start talking about us. You know so we can't look at the small part and say judge the whole, the holders like a small agree with you will that's good good summary and see when we put that out there. Then we say okay that's out there now. So when we talk were not talking about the whole we talk about just those individuals who go against the things that they were trying to do right now since we started talking about the police officer and again how holy thought thought that because I got some just to live shows.

You absolutely so I got this off of website call campaign zero is call eight. Can't wait.org it's it's actually a website that Pres. Obama recommended people go to and see if there are particular cities are listed and how they are listed as far as category and so they said on this website that if police policies if they do these things then the police policy and the police violence as a result of this policy would go down 72% which I thought was like wow just blown away, but apparently this disk organization keeps the statistics and number one was they need to bar charcoals that was number one bar charcoals number two was require an officer to de-escalate a situation as a big and regular absolutely. Well okay keep you living a goodbye letter that the ICRC right now. The boys all geared up only thing that was the escalation so the number three was require a warning before shooting that isn't right off the website now I'm reading and then it says exhausts number four was exhaust all other means before shooting number five was their duty to intervene. Now this one was a big one in just what we just saw their duty to intervene intervene in what and reference to the amount of force someone else that is being used which messages exactly which means which means that when the individual had his neck on George Floyd to officer Suda said get off this guy here that's with that intervening that's what the officer had dinner with his referred to as well and then I was banned shooting and moving vehicles. That was that was on the website and then require the use of force continuum. Now, what force continuum is and it's it's like a broad definition, but force continuum in the course and probably speak better to this one have them on. It says that an officer is required to use the amount of force necessary based on the resistance that is being given to him in reference to her arrest.

So again that's brought see it in you can go a whole lot of places, but again they are trained in areas like close area and in the last one was require a comprehensive report and see the officers there in the land without the six that got fired. What they did. They turned off the body can so again.

So now you won't have a comprehensive rep of report based on video you got one word against another word so but yeah I don't going back to that the de-escalation to just sit here thinking that all of us from sitting around stable have been in situations where stuff started de-escalate one person doesn't de-escalate the situation. They can attempt to the other person is listening and will react accordingly can de-escalate how many times officers get out there whether the domestic doesn't matter what color skin is they get into the domestic situation and have time to see a good answer domestic call fight between husband and wife. Guess who does it get attacked the to the woman turns on the husband. The man turns on the husband and on whose rhythmic made the call and generally want to make the calls coming back after the officer so that's just a small example de-escalation doesn't work that needs to be multiple so situations like we deal with right now when there's hundreds of people, if not thousands of people that are tearing up stuffing and blowing up stores and burn them down and yummy and then only in their own neighborhoods to some of these people aren't even in those neighborhoods there to show up Howdy de-escalate that and that's where some of the police officer been accused of not of not doing anything and watches that happen. Well, at some point when the numbers out. Outweigh your numbers of right control. I would assume that they have no choice but to come of this. They can't de-escalate my point is I guess that's a great theoretical step when when all know is not it's not theoretical in the sense is what they're saying here is, the officer should do this. We're not saying it's going to work. We send that as part of your training. You should go in a an attempt to de-escalate with where we week and we can give examples we can give examples as to all of what why something like this won't work, but that's what we have to do they have to go in an attempt did not saying it's one we know in the officer had dinner with Spode a monster that about the process was 15, know what he would've done he told this correction did you ever broken jaw.

Could you would been offered the sister horn and I think if we were survey 100 police officers would probably get 98% would respond saying they are talk to de-escalate their talk to go in and manage things that massless to get emotional and I think is the biggest thing to get out there trying to take control of any environment that their coming and I think that's that's like porn opponent.

Can you nominate I tell my kids all the time. If you do something nice for someone as you can get better results than being being the media get out but then you know I take my hat off to the police officers I tell you this because I can do it. I couldn't do it.

I deftly be in cuffs and you know because I'm not going Jesus single you know I can do it with you, but I was out.

I remember I guy I just bought a car.

It was nighttime aboard a car and I was driving had some friends. Whitney and I pulled up and and the cops pulled me over because the stuff had on the plate hat when the liquor that the drink and drink and plates on and so I know that about this artist should give them my information and all the stuff and the guy was like, you know what you pretty nice man. I do not wish to talk any cinema let you go but then the silence was barren and then Robocop pulled up one all-important goal jumped out of the car, slammed the door fixings. And he walked when he was walking to me. He boldly bought me almost like bought me into the car. That night I got locked up because of Robocop. The other cop was talk that showed him all my contingency was that okay yeah yeah yeah but the thing about it right before the cop said Loki put up. He said a man. I'm sorry what happened why the police officer because as soon as he got go then you were there you were stereotyped new car with goofy friends are stereotypes in this example talk de-escalation is farther training. This doesn't always work because we know human nature. On the other side of the fight was about what types of pay is lowered the first word the first half hour ago. So take a back door is next week will pick this conversation back up ways will stay with us and that will will for them to have you back so God bless all you folks and we hope you enjoy the show as we wrap up today show.
