Answer listen to Adrian Rogers. You will that we face is not on answer prayer. It is all prayer.

Jesus said that we are to ask God alone knows how many blessings we could've had had only asked.

I suppose that offered prayer is not only a tragedy. It is a sad, our Lord has commanded us to address our Lord has commanded us to pray. There is no substitute for prayer. Welcome to find between profound truth. Simply stated by Adrian Rogers as we just heard, there is no substitute prayer and nothing will bring you to your knees in prayer like having children. It also gives a clearer picture of how God the father provides for his children if they would only ask Matthew chapter 7 Jesus explains how to pray and what happens when we pray in terms anyone can understand if you have your Bible turn there now is Adrian Rogers begins with part one of parents pray I've already told her that children are a great incentive. The prayer nothing will put you on your knees like having children. Somebody asked how far apart should children be space – is about a mile and 1/2.

Thank God for them, but to be a parent means that you're going to go to your knees in prayer blessing when our Lord has to say about Matthew chapter 7 verse seven Jesus says, ask and it shall be given you see and you shall find not and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone. Ask if receive that he would seek to find it and I am not, it shall be open to what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone fiasco fish, will he give him a serpent. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts under your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him another three keywords in the passage that I read before you. They are asked see and not ask see and not Carol found in verse seven. Look at it ask and it shall be given you see and you shall find not and it shall be open to you. Now these are three little words but I want to tell you a big dork and swing all little hinges and open up into a vast room where there are multiplied pressures so I was to think about these three keywords in getting prayer answered. I remember this is not some theoretician speaking this is Jesus, and this is a rock rip ironclad promise from the word of God asking you shall receive, seek and ye shall find, not and it shall be open to you. I submit to you that see the true is not true.

It is true, and therefore we need to learn about prayer today. Especially it where parents could not only where parents are three things I want to lay on your heart today. Number one when we ask desire is expressed when we are asking that things that we want. We desire.

Now back to you that the greatest problem that we face is not on answered prayer. It is offered prayer, Jesus said that we are to ask. Now there's an ancillary Scripture that you might jot in your margin.

Let me share with hits from James chapter 4 James a very practical and he picked up on what Jesus said here and James asked this question in James chapter 4 verses one and two from whence come wars and findings among you coming out again theme of your lust, which war in your members. The reason why we can't get along with one another is, we just can get along with ourselves this way saying you last and have not detail and desire to have and cannot obtain.

And then here's the plain statement ye fight and war. Yet he have not because he asked God alone knows how many blessings we could've had had we only ask, I suppose that offered prayer is not only a tragedy. It is a sin, our Lord has commanded us to address our Lord has commanded us to pray I've just listed a few scriptures were God model has invited us to pray, but has commanded us to break Luke 18 one says and he spake a parable under them to this in that man all always to pray and not to think that is not to give up another quick pray and Jesus commanded in Mark chapter 14 in verse 38 watch TV and pray blessed into temptation. The spirit truly is ready but the flesh is weak. That Jesus commanded the watcher pray or said you had to go down and again the apostle Paul writing from prison in Philippians chapter 4 verse six says be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

There is no substitute for prayer. You get a substitute for something if you lose a limb. Maybe you can get an artificial limb if you don't want to use the telephone.

You use a fax machine.

If you don't use a fax machine you use email. If you don't use email use female telephone until a woman makes no difference. But you can communicate alright. I get it later on but I why the spiritual poverty of some people.

Why powerlessness of some Christians. You can put it down in one word it is prayerless. This thought about why God wants us to ask pieces asking shall be given to why is that he already knows what things we have need of you.

In Matthew chapter 7 just about Matthew chapter 6 and look at you with verses seven and eight I he says here but when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do, for they think they should be heard for their much speaking. Being out there for like above them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask before you are he already knows what you have need of, and yet he says over here in Matthew 77 ask and ye shall receive 90 knows what you mean, but you have to ask why we pray, but we certainly don't pray to impress God, he says, no use, vain repetition is the heathen do. God is not impressed with your rhetoric.

Had we certainly we don't pray to impress God and we don't pray to inform God. God already knows what we have need what we don't pray to impress gutter and forgot what we pray for. We pray to invite God, thank you so very important. God wants us to ask him why. When you three reasons why would we need to learn as God first of all, the fellowship factor. You see, prayer is a way of having fellowship with God. It is working with God. Good Scripture that would like that of the second rent is chapter 6 and verse one it says we then his workers together with him beseech you all so that you receive not the grace of God in vain.

We are workers together with and so when I am praying I'm having fellowship with God.

I am working with God and so God could do without me, but he loves me too much to leave me. But not only is there the fellowship factor. When we ask there is the development factor I wrote when I pray God wants me to grow and prayer helps me grow. John 15 verse seven Jesus said if ye abide in me and my words abide in you, then you shall ask what you will and should be done and to you. So God wants me to abide in him and to receive strength from him to help me to grow. You see this word asked this word seek in this word not is in the Greek language in the present tense and what it literally means is keep on asking.

Keep on seeking keep on knocking because that's when we would grow when we keep on doing these things why we have to keep asking somebody's mascot for something and he doesn't give this right away with the Greek actually says just keep on asking, keep on asking about was a girl to go out with him.

He says do you would you go out with me on the day she looks about the mess.

He says well you know I've been very busy lately and she gives him some excuse later on he says someone why she would go with me. Wasn't she really bitten like me to some other reason. So again he called up and said you think we could do this and set. She says well I'm busy. Thank you. Then ask again to guess or think I wonder what it is. I wonder what if I've been using the right manners. One of my fingernails. I wonder if I have audio I wonder wonder how one.

I wonder if I have shown the proper respect.

As it begins to work on himself one days, transform places you you would you do best and such. She looks up and then says I believe I will leave I will in asking just asking her and being refused her having the weight causes him to examine his life and to grow. Prayer is very much the same way, we have fellowship with God. When we pray when we ask God is growing us when we ask and if God doesn't give us what we ask, we wonder why did God not answer my prayer and we examine our hearts a little bit more prayers. Also God's way of causing us to be the pendant upon him. The other guy just gave us what we needed without our asking we would cease to be dependent upon him it's it's a way of binding us to him. And so we are hats and asking God for what we need out to be just as natural as breathing as a pastor. What can I ask God for well a good test of whether you have any right to want anything as this can you ask God for that. You can ask God for any of the right to want don't get the idea.

You just ask God for the spiritual things and you take care of the secular things did you imagine Jesus dividing his life into the secular and the sacred everything is important to God, you say well this is beyond God or this is too small for God to be away. I hope you think of anything too big for God too small for God to notice, ask him for any desire of your heart. If you cannot pray and ask God for all you have no business wanting disable faster what if I want something I can pray about know you can pray about telling God I want something you don't want fix my one, pray about everything in everything by prayer and supplication just come to God and ask him and I'm telling you, there will be that fellowship factor will be that growth factor. There will be that dependency factor just simply ask God. I want to say again, Jesus is ask and it shall be given you is so cruel. I want to tell you again. The great tragedy and live mothers and dad's is not on answered prayer. It is offered prayer.

Let me taste something listen very carefully. The devil cannot keep God from answering. So what he will endeavor to do is to keep you from asking to keep you from asking Jesus at this and it shall be given you when you say I've asked and I am receive what is not finished yet read all of our first of all when we ask our desires expressed but now secondly when we see direct action is explored.

Now sometimes we don't want ask whole. Sometimes we asked for the wrong time and so we have to find direction in our prayers. We have to see and asking is always link with seeking ask and it shall be given you see, and he shall five the idea of seeking is that there's something was lost and we need to find other something unknown and we need to understand and so what is it that we seek when we pray, well, first of all we may be seeking the purpose of God. We may be seeking the will of God go back to the passage in James. Remember James Agee, you have not because you ask not. And then he also said any ask and receive not because he ask you missed that you might consume upon your last. You might be asking God for the wrong thing that God is not going to give you the wrong thing, no matter how many times you ask. You ask and receive.

Not because you ask amiss you ask wrongly that you might consume it upon your last. Now we can ask for personal needs, but we cannot ask for selfish needs and so it may be that when we seek were trying to find the will of God about a map I can God not just some glorified bellhop that I say not God do this or do that know I can ask them to be given, but that asking is linked to seeking that I may fine it might be the purpose of God that I'm trying to seek for it might be the presence of God that I'm seeking. When I prayed James in the same fourth chapter goes on to talk about prayer. He says in James four verse eight drawing I did God and he will drawing. I do you cleanse your hands, she sends and purify your hearts, you double minded be afflicted in the morning we let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to have in this humble yourselves in the side of the Lord and he will lift you up. It just might be that God's very presence is what you need to seek yearly gift without the givers bear or it might be that it's the power of God that you need to see James goes on to say in James five, verse 16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. Effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man today with Mark so when I pray I asked I asked Garcia God is what I need is what I want answered is in, then I begin to seek Lord, what is your purpose, what, where is your presence. Lord, what about your power and I began to see these things will all of my heart. Now, first of all I ask. That's a desire expressed then I see that is the direction explored. I'm trying to find the will of God.

Prayer is not bending God's will to fit our will. Prayer is finding the will of God and getting in on Celeste.

The reason we must seek God in prayer within third third look.

First of all asking is desire expressed seeking his direction, explored within third late when we not determination is exerted. What is the idea now is not just saying Lord is what I want the Lord show me away is saying old old God. I leave this door open and remembers present tense.

It is knocking and keeping on mocking there maybe closed doors. There may be barriers prayer is a battle that the devil we are up against all the minions of hell.

And indeed, we sometimes have to not it is present tense keep on asking. Keep on seeking key on not gain primitivism about how prayers are answered. Sometimes, prayers are direct answer to prayer is ask God for something in a different era in the habit of you just just simply say God I want us in such a let me the lessons I could move us in such an just ipso facto immediately God's answer to prayer is that you ask your see sometimes the prayer is so direct, it is unmistakably the hand of God. That's one way God answers prayer. But another way God answers prayer is not only is the answer direct. It is different. He doesn't give us what we ask. He gives us something better than we best and you know if he does give you what you ask. You give something better if you asking the will of God asking the right spirit.

We know now what we should ask as we all but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us. Sometimes the answers direct and sometimes answers different.

Sometimes the answer is denied, he just is not why because the watch asking for is wrong yes and receive not going to ask amiss to give you something that will harm your virtue if you shaving in the morning and euro to euro was to play with the razor you say no because you love and you may give them something else. But do you simply say no this is not good for you and so sometimes answers direct sometimes different, sometimes denied, but sometimes delayed, sometimes delayed and that's the reason the Bible says not, and it shall be open and you and again I remind you it is present as key to all knocking people, knocking people, knocking people knocking don't quit praying over and over again. The Bible teaches that we are to continue in prayer. Now let me give you an illustration of this, wherein the gospel of Matthew just turned over to Luke. Luke 11 verse five. Jesus is speaking and he said under them, which of you shall have a friend and you going to him at midnight and saying to him, friend, lend me three loaves for friend of mine in his journey has come to me and I have nothing to set before him, and he from within shall answer and say probably not.

The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot rise and give the I say do though he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity. That is his persistence.

He will rise and give him as many as he needed and I said to you, ask and it shall be given you seek and ye shall find document shall be open and view for everyone that asking to receive it, and even seek to find a family that not it shall be open in the I'm so glad that Jesus gave this parable because it's so illustrate what I thought about keeping all knocking and coming up tomorrow will you part two of this important lesson.
