Jonathan David's blood covenant is a picture of the blood covenant God made with us through Jesus.

Michelle was under the sentence of dad, you have a picture of every man, every woman, every boy or girl outside of Christ be formed to now, he could not, he had to be so he would not come to be had. I want to look at two verses side-by-side and bless you, like they blessed me when I looked at them side-by-side. You are welcome to love with the dynamic teaching of Adrian Rogers part one of today's message Pastor Rogers began to explain the concept of a covenant, which is a biblical principle permanently unites two people together marriage, business, or friendship after David came into power in first Samuel chapter 19 the former King Saul's descendents were scared that he would kill them, especially his grandson for Bishop, but because of the blood covenant. David made with for Bishop's father, Jonathan.

He was shown loving kindness. If you have your Bible turn to first Samuel chapter 19 is Adrian Rogers begins part two of the blood covenant really involved three things with people who were very) limited to covenant there was a a mutual mingling of lives and involve number one. A sharing of possessions.

There was also a sharing of protection and then this covenant reached perhaps the highest form. Not only was there a sharing of possessions in a sharing of protection but a sharing of personhood itself. Look again in verse three. Jonathan David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul that he is as is self as yourself are sharing a person who could not have had a deeper commitment than Jonathan and David made one to the other this day because they are now blood brother. Finally, however, Jonathan and Saul had been slain by the Philistines, and there now. And God has seen to it that David is anointed has become king over Israel goes into the palace. He's ready to take over and ask a question look at it in second Samuel nine verse one. And David said, is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake because you see one.

A man entered into covenant with another man not only did he enter into covenant with that man.

But he also entered in the covenant with the relatives, but you also bring a Batman servant spoke up. His name was Ivan. He said all yes I know Amazon somehow was privy to the fact as to where the chef was and he told King David about this young man who had now grown up as a cripple living out there in this hideout and so David said getting angry to me he comes in his clutches go to either side and prostrate on the ground in front and then notice what David says in second Samuel nine verse seven. And David said to him. Not for I will surely show the kindness for Jonathan thy father say and I will restore the all the land of Saul thy father, and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually and so here is a great transformation he comes.

The next morning I he's asleep there that all those beautiful soft mattresses. Those silken sheets and the servants come in and nudge them gently about 9 o'clock with my Lord chef like to rise now is a basin for my Lord chef to wash his hands.

Oh my lord the king requires your presence at breakfast. Would you like to come down to breakfast and chef comes down to breakfast and there is the king's table and became sons and writing the king's right hand is an empty chair with the Lord chef be seated there. Please visit beautiful white linen tablecloth covering the table just groaning with good things.

Chef puts his mangled feet beneath that white linen not even seen it all. He sitting up there from the table. He looks like everybody else.

Just sitting out there because those things are hidden by God's grace, he sitting there at the table having such a wonderful time after while he just the feeling of home and so he says fast biscuits please and David takes that tray biscuits and passes them on down and as they pass by but the chef looks at David's wrist and David's wrist. He sees a scar because in these days when they would make a covenant where the wound was they would rub dark powder into it and leave a mark. There was: of the covenant to remind them and chef sees that scar on David's wrist and he says it's all because of the covenant that my father made with David so long ago. I don't deserve it. I'm not certain I understand completely but I'm not going to deny it, and bless God I'm going to enjoy now what does that have to do with those of us were Christians tonight. What does that have to do with those less were saved. I want to tell you ladies and gentlemen that all the Bible is about the blood covenant. Did you know that the Bible is divided into two parts.

You not just a question you said are mystifying to me is testament and the New Testament testament New Testament no way saying that is the old covenant and the new covenant general of the Lord testament and the word covenant are the same word, and so the Bible is divided into two parts covenant and the new covenant and blessing that you receive is a covenant blessing and the Bible says this the secret of the Lord is is within the him and he will show them his company and I want to show he denied the covenant that God has made with you because it if you not understood what happened to David and Jonathan, and with it was just so long ago, is a gloriously marvelous illustration of what happened to you when you became a Christian child of God.

You see, 2000 years ago on the call the Lord Jesus Christ entered into a blood covenant with God the father on your behalf on the cross. When Jesus died upon the cross, he entered into a blood covenant. Take your Bibles now interned in Luke chapter 22 with me for a moment, the Lord Jesus is instituting what we call the last supper in Luke chapter 22. Look with me in verse 20. Likewise also the cup after the supper, saying, this cup is the new covenant.

Now remember, I can say that way be perfectly correct. The words mean exactly the same, this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. That is the cup that we take when we take the Lord's supper represents a blood covenant, this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you when Jesus Christ died upon the cross he was making a blood covenant with God the father. Now remember that in a covenant. There is a sharing of blood there is a mingling of blood and I want to get a little technical with you but I won't ask you what kind of blood was shed on that cross well was in human blood.

Indeed it was because Jesus Christ was a human. He was a man, was it divine blood.

Indeed, it was for Jesus Christ was God in the Bible in acts 20 speaks of the church which God had purchased with his blood, whose blood God's blood now calls when that blood was shed in a very strange way. The blood of God and the blood of man were mingled.

There was a covenant between God and man made at that cross.

You see, Jesus was the God man is much man as they were not got it all as much God as though he were not man it all he was and have gotten half man.

He was an old man and God was all God. No man. He was the God man, the God man never another lighting cost when Jesus died while he was doing is making an immutable, unbreakable, lasting covenant between the sons of man and Almighty God. And because of what Jesus Christ did for me. What Jesus Christ did for you.

We can be forgiven. Now Jesus on the cross. Pictures John making a blood covenant for us or Jonathan pictures Jesus on the cross, making a blood covenant for us. I want you to see him with the ship therefore represents you as an unsafe center. I want you to look at these these things about Leticia, but that Michelle was an enemy. Biber so are we.

He was born into a wrong family.

He was born into a household soul.

Not only was not it was just an enemy. Biber chef was crippled by fall, so have we been in the garden of Eden. We were all spiritually and Marley quickly so look for a shift could not come himself. He had to be salt and he had to be brought and so do we. Not only that chef was living in exile. He was meant to be arcane. He was meant to rain but he lost his inheritance. So were you meant to be. Again, so were you meant to rain God made man to have dominion but we been living in exile we been living in a spiritual loading bar we been living in a place of no pastor we been living in the backside of nowhere, but that Michelle was under the sentence of death. He deserved there so to live. So, do you mother Michelle knew that he deserved that he said my mind that you should look upon such a man as I email it. I mean really didn't have a chance. According to the rules of this world, but that's what he thought himself and different. He was under the sense of their and then again he thought that David was his enemy when David was his friend and then you have a picture of every man, every woman, every boy or girl outside of Christ be formed, dethroned, doomed and deceived. That's what this man wants is what we all were deformed dethroned doom and deceived and so here was my favorite shed this way. Now he could not come. He had to be sought, he would not, he had to be brought, but he still had a decision that he had to make.

Now I want to look at two verses side-by-side and if they bless you. Like they blessed me when I looked at them side-by-side. You go to get blessed tonight. The first sketch I will go back to second Samuel chapter 9 and verse one. And David said, is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake. I just put one finger bear turned Ephesians chapter 4 verse 32. Be kind tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake. I forgiven you kindness for Jonathan's sake God for Christ's sake forgiving you. You see the picture you see the parallel see the illustration. Just as David forgave mother Michelle for Jonathan's eight God has forgiven me for Christ's sake, look at it again. Be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. Now, what did the chef receive when David forgave him so long ago go back if you will, the second Samuel nine and was look at a moment I want to mention several things that you receive when you enter into a blood covenant with God through the Lord Jesus Christ you want to see what they are all right first of all, in chapter 9 verse seven, the first thing you're going to receive is the Kings forgiveness verse seven. And David said to him, fear not.

That means your forgiven the sentence of death is no longer owned. David said to him, fear not apply will surely show the kindness and remember that work kindness and lovingkindness is a blood covenant word that's the reason David Newman Psalm 51. He could be forgiven, have mercy upon me. Oh God, according unto thy while lovingkindness according unto thy lovingkindness. I will surely show it to him of the kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and select first thing that we have raised God hallelujah because of the blood covenant that the Lord Jesus Christ made on the cross is that we have the king forgiveness but not only do we have the Kings forgiveness. We have the Kings fellowship. Look, if you will, in the last part of verse seven and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually then look at the last part of verse 10, but with every shift by master's son shall eat bread all way at my table. Now look at the last part of verse 11 as the ship said the king shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons have a look again in verse 13 he did eat continually at the Kings table times. The Holy Spirit mentions this one thing that Michelle is eating at the Kings table. Not in this day and in that day and every agent and every day to sit down at somebody's table as their guest signifies the most intimate of fellowship and so not only did he receive the Kings forgiveness. He received the Kings fellowship to sit at the Kings table.

I want tell you friend that forgiveness is not the best part of salvation. Thank God for forgiveness.

But being saved is probably getting your sins forgiven us all some people think about what you get your sins forgiven so that you can have fellowship with the king and he is sitting there, not just one me but David said you're going eat bread at my table continually look in verse seven. Continually I tell you if you just got one invitation to go up to the White House have been your friends never get.

You telling about it right. Just one time eat my table continually. But I want not only is there the Kings forgiveness. Not only is there the Kings fellowship. But there's also the Kings fortune read verses nine and 10. Then the king called Ezio Saul servant set under him. I have given unto thy masters son all that pertained to Saul and through his house and frame when you get saved you also get the Kings fortune. The Bible says the meek will inherit their we are heirs and joint heirs of the Lord Jesus. And just as a chef receive service you have received service you say who angels ministering spirits that are serving us and wait upon the children of God. On scene angels that are God's special agents and servants to work for his dear children, but wait a minute. It even gets better. Not only is there the Kings forgiveness and not only is there the Kings fellowship and not only is there the Kings fortune but look in verse 11, and here is the apex here's the Zenith.

The last part of verse 11 as formative a chef said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons. The Kings family, I did get better than that be a whole lot matter of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called one of the sons of God, the sons of God saw the mighty God, and when God looks at us because of what Jesus Christ did upon the cross, God sees us and sees us what he sees in his older son, the Lord Jesus Christ and we sit at his table enjoying his fellowship as one of the Kings Psalms. Now see what that means to us one day we were rebels we were outcasts we were brewing we were crippled, then we receive Jesus Christ as our personal savior. Then we ratified the terms of the covenant, then we agree with the terms of the covenant. We said yes try heavenly David and the next day were seated in heavenly places. We are royal bluebloods seated with the king of heaven and earth is ours.

The meek shall inherit their we are heirs and joint heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have now a new relationship, we are now sons and daughters of Almighty God. And you know what happens when that dawns upon us all when somebody tries to tell us that our first thought is we will bow our heads and say I'm not worthy of I'm not worthy of that and then the devil will sidle up alongside of you say you actually correct you are not worthy of that and he will start to enforce that a friend limitation.

You need to stop that kind of thinking what Nancy said it is not because of who I am is not what I've done.

It is, who's eye and Allison the next time the devil gets on your case and annexed on the devil tells you that you're not worthy.

Please don't argue with you while you lose the argument because you're not working Gallardo so we are more than the earlier you on the shift was working and later get out of my predicament. When the devil tells you that you're not good enough to not worry about, you don't deserve it is just agree with the devil and then pointing to the blood covenant step out of the argument and now they are in between the devil and God is going to win just like Jesus.

I'm in the blood covenant and when I'm in the blood covenant that means that the possessions of Jesus on my possession.

That's one thing that means that the protection of Jesus is my protection. That's another thing we bless God that means the person of Jesus is my person's life in my life for mingle forevermore, and I am one with the Lord Jesus Christ and I am with him. He separated friend we have in Jesus will best take a closer than a brother, but will never forsake me know clearly, and his name is Jesus. Psalm 25 verse 14. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.

I no longer need to be a slave to feelings. Those feelings don't have anything to do with. I no longer be intimidated by my weakness is not my responsibility is my response to his ability to praise his name. I want tell you something friend.

It's wonderful to be a part of the blood covenant to know the Lord Jesus Christ gave us that memorial supper. He was reminding us of the truth that we should never forget this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which was shed for you. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him, and he will show them his company is no need, therefore, for you my dear friend to live like a beggar and… I like a pauper when you can live like a prince and a king, a son of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
