Human spiritual battle. You can often be your own worst enemy. Listen to Adrian Rogers you say well I will reimage my heart to Jesus Christ about you say I believe in Christ and you give the heart to Jesus and as soon as you break as soon as that rock is written for you as soon as that water comes to refresh you have to say you are not going to get it again. Now we going to have victory not only the world, the devil, but that internal enemy of flash will be with us day by day. Welcome to this chapter 17, God called the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and let them 14 as pastor, teacher and author Adrian Rogers said God brought them out. He might bring them in reading the story. As Christians we can see an illustration of our salvation. Egypt represents the world Pharaoh the devil and Canaan victorious life. If you have your Bible turn now to Exodus chapter 17 will begin in verse eight as Adrian Rogers discusses four principles of victory to learn a lesson today about the life of conquest. Remember that at one time. The Jewish people were in Egypt and they were slaves in Egypt represents the world, therefore, that we been called out of God called them out of Egypt, Pharaoh was the king of Egypt, Pharaoh represents that they were headed toward Canaan, a land of oil and wine, and corn in figs and pomegranates, milk and honey rivers and trees and valleys and hills brass and iron. They were called indicating what this Canaan represent not heaven someday Canaan in the Bible. Don't miss this Canaan represents victory. Canaan represents the spirit filled life, not a sweep. I am by but in the nasty now.

Now we can have victory day by day.

So as Krista was we have come out of Egypt. We are coming through the wilderness, but we headed toward Canaan and we ought to already be there. So Canaan represents the spirit to live. Egypt the world Pharaoh Canaan, the victorious life not want to talk to you about four principles of victory and I want to talk to you about some Canaan conquest you might right now say well I come out of Egypt, but I should have known it again. I have been adult in the well let me tell you how you can change your life. Sincerely, now sincerely from the monotonous to the momentous from failure to victory and before you get to heaven you can bring heaven to earth.

I am talking to you about salute proof that the Bible teaches, and that I have experienced in my life before things number one you need to receive a gracious provision and that provision is salvation.

Now go back if you will, to the first verse of this chapter and all the congregation of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of sin after they journeys according to the commandment of the Lord and that is a set of dance and record him and there was no water for the people drink. Wherefore the people did child with Moses. They scouted him and said it was water that we may drink, and most of Saturday March ID with me. Wherefore, the template will and the people listed there water and the people murmured against Moses, and said that wherefore is this that thou hast brought us out of Egypt, to kill us. Children are cattle with first bread I've been there. To this place. You talk about American desolate place. It is indeed a barren and desolate in a dry place and Moses cried of the Lord saying what you like doing to this people baby almost ready to stone me. The Lord said, and Moses go long before the people and take with the of the elders of Israel, and I wear without some notice. The river taken Linehan and go. Moses had arrived. It was a miraculous robbery of say more about it later on.

Behold, I will stand before the up on the rock in horrible and thou shalt smite the rock and there shall come water out of that the people made great and Moses did so in the sight of God. I want to get the picture that out there in the barren landscape kind of first Moses and God. God says you take notice this for you.

Take a rod and you go to this rock and you with that rod use might that rock. And when you do will come from the rock dear try to get water from a rock water will come from that rock. What is all this about, well, I'm not being fanciful when I tell you this is a glorious illustration that would literally happen is a glorious illustration of our salvation put in your mark in first Corinthians 10 and verse four, I remember, I told in first Corinthians 10 verse 11.

The Bible says all these things happen. For examples, remember all these things happen for examples first grade this timbers for the Bible says and they did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank all that spiritual Rock that followed them and that rock was Christ that rock pictures the Lord Jesus Christ. The rock of ages Smith in France. Isaiah 53 verse four says, and we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, you see Jesus the rock of ages was smitten for us and because Jesus was smitten for us out of his ribbon side came for water and that water represents the Holy Spirit which is the water of life and you and I have because the rock was smitten so long ago when Jesus hung up getting blown up on that cross our rock for us out of his side has come that refreshment that Holy Spirit that is in me right now in you right now thank God for the blessed precious Holy Spirit. I would ask a question, my friend. Today you never see Jesus are you thirsty, you know that there's something missing in your life is not something to someone what to thirsting for is Jesus I can tell you that you will never be satisfied. You will never feel contentment until you know the Lord Jesus Christ.

I would argue thirsty today you stick you say God knows I meant that it nasty that my car is been empty. Many times as never once been thirsty are you are you fast, E. R. Thank God for the smitten rock.

So the first thing if you want to live a life of victory number one. You must receive a gracious provision which is salvation. Number two, you must realize a grand purpose because being saved is one but God has more much more for you.

You see God's plan for his people was not merely that they come out of Egypt and go into the wilderness of Sinai God's plan for his people was that they go into the land of Canaan. I'm not talking about pie-in-the-sky I'm talking about victory right now, God brought them out, that he might bring them in your next chapter 17.

Exodus chapter 13 just go back just couple chapters and look with me in verse three and Moses said unto the people remember this day in which he came out for me to just underscore that phrase he came out from Egypt_that out of the house of bondage. For by strength of hand the Lord brought you underscore that from this place special 11 bread beaten this day came ye out in the month of a bid and it shall be when the Lord shall bring the end to underscore that. Now bring the end to notice he brought you out that he might bring you in bring you into the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Hittites and highlights in the Jebusites, which he swear underlie fathers to give the watch of a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou should keep this service in this month, seven days shall that eat unleavened bread and the seventh day should be a feast to the Lord.

Unleavened bread shall be seven days initial 11 bread be seen with the new facility had there been 11 seen with eight and all thy quarters. Thou shall show thy son in that day notice and that they say this is done because of that which the Lord did to me when I came forth out of Egypt.

That was all the same God says look I brought you out that I might bring you in my God says when you get into the land. Notice the land flowing with milk and honey. Then I want you to celebrate.

Then I want to keep the feast of the Passover.

I want to keep the feast of unleavened bread. I want you to celebrate and when you celebrate the feast your sons going to come Unicenter essay that was always me, you can take a sunset celebrating what God did for us.

When God brought us out of Egypt, and God brought us into this land. I will ask you question why is it that the devil is getting the kids of the best families in our churches today.

I'm talking about people who say in the quiet people who take a bill from people who teach Sunday school people who love God. People who are saved. People who are tying people who live clean lives.

Yet the kids many times the drugs will come to church running with the wrong crowd maybe sleeping around. How does that happen.

Why think it's a complicated thing and we can put everybody in one category about the one reason that a lot of it happens.

Is this new assuming they've never going Canaan value what they had in the will of the state you want. They will manner now long dated 40 years now Manor was not meant to satisfy them with only meant to sustain them until they got into the land that flowed with milk and honey boiling corn and fades in pomegranates.

It was only meant as a temporary feast by a temporary food. They were only to spend a little time in the wilderness, they would come out of Egypt to Canaan, but because of that going around and around and around and around in the not believing God. They come out of Egypt, but they've never known him to Canaan now. In that time 40 years.

There were children born at that time. Let's imagine a kid he's 14 years of age he born in the wilderness his parents to come out of Egypt, but he's a wilderness boy. He never says mama what's for breakfast. He knows what's for breakfast manner.

He never says mama Launcelot Gino's. What's for lunch manner. He never says not a lot for supper. What's for supper manner as a model we don't have tomorrow. What we don't have more manna manna manna man, a man in the evening management suppertime manna all the time.

Is manna manna manna is all wicked now suppose they decide to go celebrate better in the wilderness about remember God save this passage celebrate in the land not in the wilderness. You have a lot to celebrate in the wilderness. Now suppose that they are the father sitting on hot rocks and sitting on the cactus and the father says we don't have the feast of Passover.

So would add to what we do and he said were celebrating son member. This kid assert sermons about Canaan. That's always her discernment back and he's never sinking.

He might've heard Pastor Rogers preach about Canaan, but he's not saying Canaan. His parents are not living in Canaan.

His parents and I living the victorious spirit filled life a lot lately and victory quality is proud to say that come out of Egypt, but they never going to Canaan and they say outside celebrating Felix around to her what rattlesnake goes by son is boiling. Tumbleweed is coming along.

What would sound were celebrating what God is nonporous, he said, then go do things that I would get back to Egypt. I mean, where there was fish and garlic some leaks and melons and desert. I'm okay. That's why the devil is getting a lot of our kids are good people. They have come out, but they've never going. They have never learned how to live in victory before their children and the children no apparent somehow sincere when they feel like they had just simply missed it.

Alfred God brought us out that God might bring us in, and if you have been one of those simply dumped in the desert. You have to understand not only must you receive a gracious provision salvation, but you must realize a grand practice, which is a trait that God has for you is 1/3 thing you must respect a grievous problem. There is a grievous problem and what is that problem. Look, if you will again in go back to our text now. Next to 17 and look at verse eight. Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel what is Amalek who is Amalek, Amalek was again but he was the grandson of Esau and who was, he saw what he saw. He remember was a man who sold his birthright for a mess of pottage. I don't have time to get into it, but Esau was a profane man. Esau sold his spiritual things for a bolus to Pam and he was more interested in the present than the future.

The material than the eternal the things of the flesh, not the things of the spirit and therefore the Bible calls Esau in Hebrews chapter 12, a profane person who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright, and the Bible teaches in Malachi that God has a perpetual warfare declared upon Esau. Listen to the Scripture. Malachi 1 verses one through four.

The burden of the Lord to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, that the Lord yet you say where MS Columbus was not Esau Jacob's brother set the Lord yet. I love Jacob and I hated Esau and latest mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness, where is even said were impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places save a lot of those, they shall build but I will throw down, and they shall call them the border of of wickedness and the people against whom the Lord had indignation forever. I once got talking about God. He is not talking a little baby Esau when he says I hate Esau he's talking about a whole nation based on by the Edomites and is not just on that people in physical bodies is talking about a principal and that present was the flesh, not just complicated, so pay attention. Amalek is the grandson of Esau. He is a part of that category of persons that God says I have a factual war with what is Amalek represent Amalek represents what all of us have in us and it is the flesh that you and remember I said I had a church member have a difficulty with frame view, there is an Amalek in you, he is the grandson of Esau and you have this down in your Bibles. Romans chapter 8 verses six and seven to be carnally minded that word currently means fleshly minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God's court is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. And in Galatians 5 verse 17 the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh bear is that principle that will come against you, the flesh, you say well I will reimage I will give my heart to Jesus Christ today. I'm of the essay. I believe in Christ and you give the heart to Jesus and is soon as you drink that water. As soon as that rock is smitten for you as soon as that water comes to refresh you. Then the Bible says came Amalek immediately when you come out of Egypt, but flesh comes back comes to say you are going no further. You are not going to get in the Canaan then came Amalek. Deuteronomy says he smoke behind most of the when you are weak and thing daughter test us in our strongest point, the flesh will attack us in our weakest point to keep us from entering into Canaan now.

How are we going to have victory not only the world, not of the devil, but that in the eternal enemy. The flesh we all have enemy with us day by day. Here's the next thing I want you to notice and very quickly. You must remember a glorious principal. What is the principal look if you will again beginning in verse nine of this chapter and Moses said in the Joshua choose us out man and go out and fight with Amalek tomorrow. I will stand on the top of the hill with a rod of God in mine hand so Joshua did as Moses had said in him and fought with Amalek and Moses and Aaron and her went to the top of the hill and it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed, but Moses hands were having and they took us going. Put it under him and he said their own and Aaron, and her staying up his hands. The one on one side the other on the other side and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. What is the glorious principal, glorious principal victory is God given how am I going to overcome the old Adrian that church member that I have the most difficulty with my going overcome him by re-dedicating my life by struggling no, there is a actual warfare\is in me and you and when you have saved. The flesh is not eradicated, but thank God you can have victory and the victory is God-given. God said Moses you take that rod member was the rod of God. It represents the power of God it was that rod that open up the Red Sea. It was that rod that struck the rock in simple water and if the rod that let them out of bondage. The rod that led them out of barrenness.

Now is the rod this going to leave them in battle.

He says take that wrong.

Go up to the mountaintop hole that wrought up and when you hold that rod will be defeated. Listen, the victory over Amalek over your flash is a God given victory. The Bible says and walk in the state and you will not fulfill the lust of your flesh.

If I've learned one thing all my Christian life is this precious friend that holiness is not the way to Christ. Christ as a way to holiness mass not just on the edge of playing with words. He does not say lesson. He does not say if you will not walk in the flesh, then you can walk in the spirit he doesn't say that he says walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. I'm telling you that the victory over your flash is a God given victory.

That's the only way that you're going to come out of Egypt through the wilderness and the Canaan because there's an Amalek within you that stands against you to try to keep you from living in victory but thank God hallelujah praise God. There is a victory when you take the rod of God which is the word of God, the power got the spirit of God and you hold that high mastery we need to pray one for another and help one another friend.

We need to hold up one another's hands because the victories God-given victory is one of the mountain is realized in the will.

There's a battle you can just roll over and and not get in the battle, but the battle is the Lord's what the name what Aaron was he was a priest.

He represents prayer her who held at the hands of Moses his name means whiteness of purity purity in prayer chain holding up the hands of the people of God. The victories God-given brand you receive that provision that salvation you remember God's purpose that is Canaan recognize a problem unless the flesh but then you believe a principal that is if we walk in the spirit will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Father God seal a message to our hearts Lord is so much here. Lord help us to understand help us moment by moment. And day by day to walk in the spirit not fulfill the lust of the flesh you're tired of agent and you said I want to come out of Egypt. I'm tired, sick and tired of Pharaoh telling me how high the jump. I am tired of being beat up by the devil want liberty I want victory. If you thirsting you need a drink from that wrong. His name is Jesus, and I will offer you a drink from the rock today would you pray this prayer dear God just prayed dear God, I know that you love me.
