So God now is resting like a musician would rest in a musical score, but listen to this God's rest has been disturbed. God has been interrupted.

What disturbed God's rest and put God back to work. Sin did you know that God's rest is been interrupted, but this first and John chapter 5 in verse 17 Jesus had just healed a man on the Sabbath day to day rest. Jesus had healed a man on the Sabbath day the Pharisees in whom the milk of human kindness had crippled Pharisees condemning all working on the Sabbath day and this is why Jesus said listen to it. Jesus answered them.

The second rest is the covenant rest, the creation, rest that pertain to God Almighty covenant rest. That pertains to the nation Israel went, God had a special people, the Jews, God gave them a special day and it was the Sabbath day rest.

Wherefore, the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations for a perpetual covenant is a covenant Sabbath is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever, so there was the creation, rest, and then there's the covenant rest. God gave the Old Testament seventh day Sabbath, to the Jew. It was a covenant between God and the children of Israel that we have people today who say they want to keep the Sabbath, like the people in the Old Testament. It will be very careful to break and Old Testament Sabbath allotment sudden-death. For example, in this passage that I just read an extra chapter 31 and verse 15 it says six days may work be done, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Listen to this, whosoever doing any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. What the Old Testament penalty for breaking the Sabbath was that if you do it anymore.

For example, if you build a fire on the Sabbath day would be put to death. Exodus chapter 35 in verse three you shall candle no fire throughout your habitations upon the Sabbath day knife you say today I'm going to keep the Sabbath like they did in the Old Testament you got a lot of trouble because if you start a fire.

You were the bed did you start your engine today. The automobile could you start a fire and every one of those syllabus did you turn on an incandescent bulb today when you flicked the light switch. You started a fire in that light switch did you adjust your thermostat if you thought was a little cold and your furnace went home to start the fire. You committed a crime worthy of that if you put yourself under the Old Testament covenant Sabbath that was between God and Israel. When there was a theocracy now to make matters worse, there 39 words in this commandment the Hebrew language that talks about the Sabbath and so the Jews added to the word of God, and they found 39 ways that you could break the Sabbath, but they weren't content with that.

So they took each of these 39 ways and broken down into 39 divisions and when they finish they have 1521 ways you could break the Sabbath. I have asked Jesus a doom you may bring the law of God with your tradition that all kinds of things they say, for example, if you got attacking issue better take it out on Friday night before sunset. You becoming a burden on the Sabbath.

You broke the Sabbath. If you got a flea on you. You better get them all before sunset on Friday. If not you try to kill them on Saturday. You are hunting on the Sabbath day. Seriously, they would not even egg that was laid on Saturday is at hand was working on the Sabbath day you could put vinegar in your mouth and swallow it, for it was all right to eat on the Sabbath day. Don't hold it in there very long.

If you have a toothache that was healing on the Sabbath day they had taken the Sabbath day and they made all these little minute laws about the Sabbath day and one of the things that they hated Jesus. Paul was basic he has broken our Sabbath matter that is going around healing people and doing works of mercy and love and so forth. But let me say that was the creation rest when God created the world. Rest then there was the covenant rest, God gave the Sabbath to Israel, and it was supposed to be a blessing to Israel, but they so contorted that they made what was to be a blessing, a burden that here's the third rest, and this is what applies to you. Remember the word Sabbath means rest there is Calvary rest. That's the fulfillment of the Sabbath for us and that's how we apply this command to us today. You see the Old Testament Sabbath as were all of the Old Testament ceremonies. They were also prophecies, they pointed to something even more wonderful and I'm a show in a moment that the Bible says that the Sabbath was a shadow that pointed toward the Lord Jesus Christ. When God rest after his first creation. When did Jesus rest after his new creation. You know the Bible says if any man be in Christ is what new creation.

So remember Jesus said my father worketh hitherto, and I work. Remember the Jesus that I must finish the work of him that sent me while it is day Jesus came to do a labor what was that labor to create a new race, a new creation.

If any man be in Christ Jesus. He is a new creation that Jesus said I must work the works of him that sent me. While at this date is I've got to get this work done when he bowed his head on the cross and I said why it's finished. It is finished. My work is done and then the Bible tells us, thank God. In Hebrews chapter 10 verse 12 this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever set down on the right hand of God. Jesus did his work is finished and now he is sitting down in the Old Testament temple. The priest never had a place to sit because his work was never done.

But Jesus work is done, it is finished and he is resting from his work were the new creation he is made a new creation. Now take your Bibles and let me show you something. The black ship turned Colossians if you will. Chapter 2 and look with me.

All of us were dead without Christ and in the circumcision of our flesh, that is, we had this sinful nature hath he quickened together with him. What is that mean when Jesus rose from the grave.

Revelation 1 verse 10. The early church met for worship upon the first day of the week asked 20 verse seven and upon the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached under them on the first day of the week. They took their offerings.

First Corinthians 16 verse two.
