So much for the valiant order ward is incredible. It's like a deep well and it's true.

It's full of life. Lord you the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through you. We thank you Lord for your grace in your mercy, we thank you Lord Jesus that you humbled yourself and became a man and you endured such incredible suffering, including being separated from fellowship with your father.

You and you did it for each one of us had each one of us in mind when you die on the cross and the were so thankful that your rose again the third day to validate the claim to be the son of God and the Son of Man love you Lord Jesus I pray that your word will go forth tonight and accomplish the purpose for which you intend is in your name that I pray the name that is above all names, the name of Jesus a man so it's not we continue the second part in our series entitled the cup of God's wrath. As we learned last week, Jesus began to drink from this cup in Gethsemane is the full realization of the suffering and pain separation began to weigh heavily on us so we can't fathom what he went through Jesus so dreaded the hour that was upon him, that he asked his heaven father to take it away from him, but he humbled himself and said father not my will but your will and he literally sweat droplets of blood. So tonight we're going to focus on the trials of Jesus. But here's the question what you think about what was really on trial.

Jesus or us.

God will mankind.

I want you to consider this, Jesus came into our world preaching a message of good news, a message of hope, he healed the sick Sight to the blind, healed lepers, the cast out demons a minister to women and children raised people from the dead.

He was in the world and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. They committed no sin and no deceit was found in his mouth when they hurled their insults at him.

He did not retaliate.

He suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might data sense and live for righteousness for his by his wounds. Man, that you and healed. Let me ask you another question had given falsely accused of doing something that you know you didn't do if you happen you understand what it feels like if you're like me you want to defend yourself.

What I remember one day when I was in the eighth grade and we had just come in from lunch and Mr. copy things. Everybody is standing around in Mr. Daines makes Joe and I bend over and grab our ankles and he had a panel that was about 3 feet long and about an inch thick. He walloped me in general, the back and it hurt, but what one that was. I was embarrassed after he was totally unjustified sit. My experience pales in comparison to what happened to Jesus. First of all, I'm sure was not totally innocent.

Theologians believe that he did not actually give up his deity, but that he temporarily laid aside his glory and submitted to the humiliation of becoming a man, but the pinnacle of Jesus humiliation came in three stages during the last about 10 hours of his life stage one was the agony of Gethsemane lineages were trial stage II was the shame of the trials bringing false accusations and that's the state with a look at tonight in stage III will look at next week or the week after that and that has to do with the suffering of the cross, resulting in his separation from his father's fellowship in his death that brings us to Marquette before things if you have your Bibles. You see, they are determined that there were put to death, but he says they do not find any evidence.

Many testify falsely against him, but their statements do not agree, then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him.

We heard him say, I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another not made with hands, will he never said he would destroy the temple. He said when you destroy the sample. Yet even then their testimony did not agree, then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, are you not going to answer what is this testimony that these men are bringing against you, but verse 61 says that Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again, the high priest asked him are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed one.

And Jesus said I am, which is what the Old Testament name for God. I am in you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand, the mighty one and coming on the clouds of heaven, and that it says that the high priest told his close and he said why do we need more witnesses. You've heard this blasphemy, and he looks at the 70 men that were with him.

This is what you think and they all condemned him as worthy of death, and then some listener. This is a bunch of supposedly holy religious men, they begin to spit at him, blindfolded him struck him with her fist and said prophesy just joking with him mocking him and the guards took him and made him what I want to know.

Many times a night is I would like to explain the number the timeframe and the nature of all these trials of Jesus endured that night, after being led away from Gethsemane. So history is altered here. There were six trials, three religious trials in three civil trials the religious trials were conducted by the high priest and the religious leaders. While the civil trials were conducted by Pilate, who was the Roman governor of Judea and King Herod Jesus was found guilty at all three religious trials and innocent at all three civil trials. Here's the timeframe and guess what you can get this timeframe is if you look at all four Gospels, Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane sometime very early on Thursday morning at the begin to pass. If it was probably about 1 AM in the morning and then he was bound and led to the house of Annas that you would pick that up in Mark yet to go to one of the other Gospels. Annas was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, and he used to be the high priest was happy for about 10 years before he was deposed by the Roman government and then he was replaced by his son-in-law, Caiaphas, but Anna still wielded a great amount of power and authority and that's what they took him to Annas first and Annas declared him guilty. At about 230 in the morning contracted with me. Then they took him to Caiaphas and all the chief priest and the elders and the scribes came together. When Jesus stood before Annas. He was solid and now that he standing before Caiaphas, he remained silent and this was this amazed Caiaphas.

He couldn't believe it and release the ohmic and charged him what would you be doing not be responding obsolescent right I can you say that I never did that. This is what Caiaphas asked him are you not going to answer these charges.

But Jesus just stood there and he didn't say a word and this was all in fulfillment of Scripture Isaiah chapter 53 verse seven says he was oppressed and afflicted. You did not open his mouth. He was led like a lamb to slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth to guess when you study the Bible you see it's true that was written by the prophet Isaiah, who lived a 700 years before Jesus was even born. If you don't know if the Bible is true. Just study it just the moister the Bible, the more solid ensure my fate becomes so since Jesus would not speak calves had no choice but to place him under it.

So in Matthew's account we learned that the high priest said to him, I charge you under oath by the living God tell us if you are the Christ, the son of God Is one of note, do you claim to be the Messiah and some theologians they would Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah. Yes he did listen to this. Jesus said yes it is as you say, but I say to all of you is literally 70 men in the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the mighty one and coming on the clouds of glory, and with those words of Jesus sealed his fate because he was headed where to the cross that was his destiny by the time these religious leaders come to the guilty verdict. By having the trial at nighttime, and they knew it, but she didn't care that it didn't matter than that it was illegal.

So now we see this third trial and once again they require Jesus to claim that he was the Christ, and once again Jesus said I am in for the third time he was declared guilty time. Now men is about 6 AM then the whole assembly rose and led them off to Pilate. The first civil trial.

The pallet could not find anything wrong with this man. And so when he heard that Herod was in the city. The syllabus will certainly hurt.

He would pass the buck as of the chief priest and the teacher, the law follow Jesus and they stood outside Herod's palace accusing Jesus because I could go into a Gentiles house because it might defile them in the other planning the murder man to see the irony in Herod who'd always wanted to meet Jesus plot him with question after question, and Jesus gave no answer.

One reason he wouldn't answer Herod's Herod was the one who beheaded John the Baptist who was Jesus first cousin you don't mess around when Jesus then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him dress them in an elegant road. They sent back to pallet after finding him innocent time is now seven in the morning to pallet called together the chief priests, the rules and all the people he probably gathered at the on his porch, and this is what he said to them, he said you brought me this man is one who was inciting the people to rebellion how to examine him in your presence and found no basis for your charges against him near his Herod, for he sent him back to us. As you can see he has done nothing to deserve death.

Therefore, I will punish him in the release him.

So this is when he sends him to be scourged say he was thinking that he discouraged him bad enough and brought about for the people they would have simply let them guide but we will see later.

That's not what happened.

So the time. Now men is 8 AM as I asked you at the beginning who was really on trial here, God or mankind, can you really put God on trial where you can eat but we do. So what does it mean to put God on trial for first, we put God on trial.

We question his word, the Bible. This is exactly what Satan did in the garden when he said to the woman, did God really say, did God really say the serpent said to the woman you must not eat from any tree in the garden.

Guess what is it will got set.

Now he just said is one tree for 10,000 of the present that you can eat from, but just not that one. We also put God on trial.

When we twist his work this exactly what the woman did. And Satan did when she responded to the serpent and said we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden but God did say you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the milk garden and you must not touch it or you will surely die for God so you must not touch it. I see she added that you back to the end of Revelation.

You'll see that it says. Anyone who adds to the word will suffer all the punishment that you say alter the book of Revelation. You don't add to God's word. You don't subtract from it. God means what he says and he says what he means and is recorded for us in this book that is to the test of time and finally we forgot on trial. We question his authority. This is what the religious leaders did when they asked Jesus by what authority are you doing these things and who gave you authority to do this for nasty. Do not put God on trial today, just as mankind is always done.

Do not judge God. Have you ever question God's word. If you ever doubted it. You see when you question the Bible you're really questioning God your judging his word, renovating his word.

Do what judge you. Have you ever heard someone twist Scripture to mean what it clearly does not mean I could give you many examples of preachers right here in Raleigh who twist the word of God happens almost every Sunday last year.

Listen to the sermon of a popular young minister. He twisted the words of John chapter 3 where Jesus clearly says to Nicodemus that you what must be born again. Enough listening to Billy Graham, the writer this afternoon and is like God was confirming to me stand and tell them you must be born again pilgrim said you must be born again.

This minister said that the Greek phrase Guinness say another Guinness say nothing. He said it does not mean born again, this was a minister say it to start – it is only morning means more from above and then he gave a very twisted to what born from above me will guess what born again is what makes it an image born again and more from above, but the point is this Jesus was referring to a second birth, this one Nicodemus said how can a man enters mother's womb and be born a second time for the minister twisted that I have to say is the worst heresy that I've ever heard in my life. Coming from a man who claimed to be representing God. He was twisting the word of God's church was packed before Kevin, 19 out of the weather right now but a lot of churches men who don't proclaim the truth of God's work close because of covered lightening and I have the cyclist public God allowed Kevin, 19 to shut down men and women in the church were not preaching the truth see Paul once about this in second Timothy chapter 4 verse three and four and is so relevant to our day is what Paul warned Timothy about for the time will come. Timothy when they were not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gathering them a great number of teachers to say with the itching ears want to hear.

They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths is a myth that a man a woman does not need to be born again in many men and women are buying into that law there with forgot on trial. We did not his authority over our lives, how we do this we remove God's word from the public arena because we don't like what it says you know somebody actually put the 10 Commandments in the Supreme Court with the image of Moses for a reason and if the ACLU have their white they would strip it away just like to have your many times with the 10 Commandments in our courtrooms. They have to go to Washington DC got a lot of different monuments strip weather versus that our founding forefathers put their we define marriage the way we won't today is we don't like the one way that God has designed and I got news for you. If a marriage is not between one man and one woman. I don't care what they call it is not marriage, not a Gonzalez and we declare that a woman has rights over homebody the very body that God himself created the creed of the little body. This inside her body, which is totally different from her body but she thinks she has the right to kill that little baby walked To God's Judgment, Look No Further Than That One Thing so Usually on Trial.
