Hey this is Mike Swick from if not for God podcast our show stories of hopelessness turned and I hope your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting in just seconds. Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing The Truth Podcast Network. This is the Truth Network encouraging prayer, God offers an open invitation for his people to talk with him at any time about anything encouraging prayer Dr. James Banks, author of the best-selling product and many other books on prayer provides weekly biblical insight help you learn to mom and now St. James you are hanging out with Jesus this afternoon I'm in. How cool is that.

Let me what was I like all were all really know. So much for me just to be with some arrived at me and putting it that way helps put it in perspective. I mean, do we really believe we actually do hang out with Jesus and if we do mean shouldn't this make a huge difference in all our life. After all, I mean that's what God's word tells us, and he always is trying with us always mean Jesus not only promised that at the end of the gospel of Matthew in John 1423 anyone who loves me will obey my teaching, my father will love them and we will come to them and make our home with them that the amazing and breathtaking truth.

According to the word of God. You and I can be at home with Jesus not at some future point in time right here right now and even though Jesus has sent it to heaven. Remember he also told us it's good for us that he would go away so that he could send us the Holy Spirit's presence with and that's what really gets exciting because this is some dusty theological truth that means a practical and Jesus really means what he saying that he actually be with us and that we can be at home with him now St. James let's talk about how we can be more at home in his presence because I mean this really is all about prayer. I'm guessing based on the title show and relationship is and go back to his word about you know he and the father making their home with obedient big part of that. But we can get on that word. You know, we might mental images of that legalistic person shouting at us. But what what you mean by obedience really has everything to do with love play starts with the work. Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. Last week we talked about how a loving God helps us turn from capitation and in this we cannot go one step farther. If you read on into the next chapter John chapter Jesus said this is my command that you love each other as I have loved you, so that's what he wants us to do.

That's what he's talking about when obey my teaching more literally follow my word in the Greek it's all about love. Jesus is saying we live in love, obedient to his will, he and the father will be with us this really it really is that simple is I think it is probably because whenever you see a believer whose loving you see Jesus so evident and this comes down to loving God and loving others as Jesus was saying again, it always starts with loving God, but it also involves those around us.

As John wrote whoever claims to love God yet hates his brother or sister is a liar, so practically speaking, that's the question right to ask ourselves to have love, I have the love of God in me that I love that yeah do I have the love of God in me. We need to ask ourselves that every day. Don't really do during the more wheat we consciously make an effort to love God. The more we praise him, the more we we lift our hearts to him as we go through the day. More at home. We will feel in his presence and what it says in Psalm 25 the Lord in those who fear him, so he tells you special things. The concept of being at home and that works here isn't a sense of terror. He confides in those who fear him more. The sense of respect and which can also include love.

So if you think about it you know his first command to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all you. This is really the way it's meant to be's and now God is to love him. He fills our hearts with love. This is really date me as a radio guy makes me think of that old song by the teddy bears no no no really work to see him smile. It does work really does make life while running. The whole point of our faith is to know them and learning to say open in prayer and walk in simple obedience helps us draw us closer and that way we feel more at home with him.

You know the song of Solomon. I love it when he was the bride says the groom says to the bride you have done otherwise in and when you think about that you know you have Jeep the Holy Spirit's eyes tell point out Jesus to you where he is with you know you know Colossians when we were Jesus and in turn from our sins to turn to him and lives are now hidden with Christ in God. So there it is again what were already more at home in him than we know and and we can live into that reality. More and more and that's what's beautiful about this really is possible to be home with Jesus day by day. I could talk about that all day time James so would you wrap up things with prayer.

Please help us to know that we can just love you and be with you and so much flows out of disobedience with you and please help us not to bind to the enemy slide that know you really can't know him because you said that you promised to make your home so we hear more from Pastor James five visit website James Banks.or by visiting these churches.
