There Are Many Wolves, But They Will Not Prevail

Second Timothy chapter 3 I had this message pretty much studied out and prepared then thought, no, I don't want to preach that on Mother's Day looks to other things. John 1011 through 16 Jesus said I'm the good Shepherd the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand or hireling and not a shepherd is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.

He flees because he is a hireling or a hired hand and he's not concerned about the sheep but in contrast, verse 14 Jesus am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, even as the father knows me and I know the father I lay down my life for the sheep have other sheep, which are not of this fold and I must bring them also.

They would hear my voice and I will become one flock with one shepherd. Here, our Lord himself says that he is the chief Shepherd of the sheep Christians and he's not like the false teachers of his day, who claim to love the sheep who claim to be serving God, but they do not man up and fight nobly against the wolves who try to come in and divide and scatter the sheep. There's got to be a manliness about proper shepherding to guard the sheep from the wolves of all teachers the false prophets and this church that Timothy is now pastoring a church in Ephesus. Here's what the apostle Paul said to them before he left them very close to when he appointed Timothy to come here be the pastor is what he says to the elders of the church at Ephesus acts 2029 through 30. I know that after my departure here is savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock and from your own selves. Will men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them another many many as a part of the passages but I wanted you to see from the Bible text. There are many wolves. The Lord warned about them. Paul warned about them.

It's continually told of the old and New Testament. These false teachers. These false prophets. These wolves who want to damage the church and undermined and usurped the truth of God.
