This is TMG radio very famously, the board of God tells the church to go into all the world and make disciples in Matthew 2818 1920 Mark 1615 Christ said go and preach the gospel to every creature throughout the world and with that, we welcome you to today's edition for new generation radio Alex McFarland here with my cohost Dylan Burroughs and were talking about great mission mandate to go to all the world and share the news of salvation through Jesus Christ, Dylan, I am so excited about today's program not only because of the guests that were going to speak with. But the topic that were going to honey and on and I will get to be talking with a very innovative missionary from Cyprus I thought were talking about not only the Bible's great commission but the lands of the Bible lot lands mentioned in the Bible, but Dylan throughout the last 2000 years. The great commission is something God told us to do that at times is been taken very seriously with great commitment and sadly, at other times not really emphasized as much as it should. Yes, it's easy to focus on ourselves what's going on in our own lives, but to very clearly Jesus left his final words in Matthew 28 therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and the Holy Spirit, so that is the emphasis were talking about here today with Jonathan looking forward to hearing from him. So let's dive right in as we talk today about the great commission as it applies to reaching people in Cyprus and around the world. Well yes I am always excited to meet people that are committed to win souls to Christ, especially the Muslim world and so before Christmas I was at an event and I met Jonathan and Katie and was just so interested in the work they're doing and I were talking about sharing Jesus with Muslim people and I wanted to have them on the program and so Jonathan, thanks for taking time on the you're in the states for little while and you're good to go back to the mission field, but thank you and welcome to truth for new generation antioxidant really is a blessing to dealer felt I would will give us little backdrop on on yourself and your family well. I was raised and went to Salem, North Carolina and went to Christian school here in town and my wife is not from here at all. She's from is from England and an amazing way. We are both growing outside called us both to the mission field through couple short-term trips that we went on and we actually met Wesley met in Ukraine when I was over for the summer. I was playing basketball here during college and summer trip over for a couple months and let my memo life there really was the beginning of just my heart.

Remember information as well and so came back from the state to the states from Ukraine and just felt like God would have me to put college in some sports I was involved in a holding in pursuit of serving him on the mission field and briefly how how it happened, the Lord lead you all to Cyprus once I moved on the mission field. The first place in my life and I actually lives was a place called Kurdistan and it was in Central Asia from other Muslim part of the world and we work with your family. If you plant a Calvary Chapel church there.

We were there for about four or five years and I think during that time really is when all of us to know you're all younger and early 20s, but we started to realize how much openness there really was among some Muslim people are not all but a lot of the Muslim world is more open than we in the West, sometimes with this unit should be and without new kind of understanding we left. And then left the church with the local pastor there.

The three families that we all pulled out of the gutter established working will left with a heart for other Muslim nations. And as I was reading about other places alert Cyprus to my thanks. Just found out about this Turkish half of the island where there is really not any missionary going to and yet there seem to be very open for the gospel and so the Lord gave me a vision for the place I was praying one day give my life over to Scripture recall this to God or supplant a Bible teaching church there. It's amazing. Jonathan in his we look further at this idea of reaching Muslims with the gospel. What is it that is helpful in connecting with people. Muslim background and starting to talk about the things of Scripture about the teachings of Jesus and helping guide people toward this understanding Jesus is God's son right out of the Great Depression.

For the most part. Her face is a legitimate part of who they are very much tied to their nationality, and so to to ask them questions very openly and honestly about their faith what they believe, why they believe it is a strange thing for them and he always have to exercise wisdom and and depend on the spirit to lead you as you interact with them, but for the most part, people are, you know, it's very normal for them to receive a question like that because it's something that is a part of who they are as well.

I'm just kind standardized than them and start getting to know people are very friendly and the Turks are very friendly, very warm and hospitable people know hourly and it is really returning to just engage in conversations about significant internal things with them. How much do the Muslims in Cyprus know about Jesus or or Christianity or or how to have a relationship with Christ. Well, I may know about, you know, pretty much every road in the world right as some kind of energy especially alarming on a she's mentioned many times in their there books are on. However, you know the big difference for between us as Christians are members Muslims is that they don't and they don't they don't really have an understanding that number one Jesus is God clearly knowledge and misconduct.

That's a big obstacle hurdle to kinda get through but it really their relationship with with God is all based around just doing the things the five really based on the five pillars of Islam right that we read about in the Quran. They believe if they do well enough that they will at the end of life be rewarded with a place in paradise but really here and now they don't follow a relationship with God is face to face around as I really try not to make him angry right just try to stay on good terms with them, but there's not a personal intimacy that you and I would would describe our relationship with Jesus to be Jonathan. We look forward to talking working just a moment of truth when a generation right back stick with contingent all Christians would like to become more effective in presenting and doing things and this is Allison Farland and I mission of truth for a new generation evidence. I hope to see you there. I'm very excited for Jonathan and Katie Dalby were missionaries in Cyprus. There, in the states for a while and I just thought it would be really beneficial to get an expert from the front lines of ministry on the program to talk about reaching out to those precious souls. The Lord loves Muslim people that they need Jesus. And so Jonathan is telling us about how we can share the gospel and doing. I happen to think this might be the church's main assignment at this hour church in every generation has things God hands us to do, but really taking Christ to the Muslim world.

That's gotta be very high on the priority list will certainly and I tell people that God's love does not stop in the mortar and neither should ours that we should have a heart for those who are far from Christ and those who are far from where we live and as we talk Jonathan, I want to ask you a little bit about what are some of the differences between the view Jesus from those of a Muslim background versus the view Jesus we see in the Bible because this is really one of the key sticking points we see in sharing the gospel what you Muslims think of who Jesus is and what he do to talk with them about the real biblical message of the gospel. First thing, usually always happens when you share the gospel with a Muslim person, whether they're very committed to their faith or just kind of phenomenal Muslim is that they have some kind of response that directly will hear their belief system contradicts ours as far as the person of Jesus Christ is at an us and that's a big deal because that's the gospel hinges on Jesus's claims of who he said he wasn't so one of the big ones that people will will say to you is that while Jesus never died on the cross right there never some occur on that mission only appeared Jesus died and so consequently wasn't raised from the dead as well because he never tried now as you get to know a person more and more in your may have the freedom to challenge and push those things you can go with them through the historical accuracy of the Bible and perhaps open up a Noel elongated conversation over weeks and months of just the accuracy of the car on the Bible together in a backpack can be helpful and it takes time. You know there's not any kind of a quick fix. You know that Mimi's people have been taught these things now since birth is much as we've been taught in church that Jesus died and rose again. They've been taught that he didn't.

I it takes time and I I would also ask about that. I think more than any kind of proof. No historical proof for opening up books and showing them that Christianity's belief about Jesus is accurate over what they believe is Muslims if the long term opportunity for a Muslim person. So watch your life and witness as being radically different in the way that you love and care for people over there because it's something that their their faith can never do and never change their heart and I found that the process right me that that happened overnight. It takes time for person to be able to see God in your life. I'm so glad you bring that up because you really we need the word of God.

We need good like you say historical proof and it's near me.

One of the great things about apologetics is no historically, logically, may we cannot definitely defend the faith, but I think it's really without prayer without the work of the Holy Spirit and without a long-term relationship that shows you what we have an authentic message and we ourselves are to be authentic messengers. It's all of those things the Lord uses in in concert together that really makes the impact on the heart is not not not just raw data but relationship. I think that's why sometimes we find it challenging and the West.

When we think about reaching Muslims with the gospel because we like that we like to get things done right and in the West and Quickly and you can manipulate one the spirit of God right it done and have time and in its way. But in a relationship. Just take time right cultures in the Middle East.

They are just slower process than what were you asked time for people to really see that there's a genuine change in your life.

I'm so glad you mentioned that Jonathan because for many others it's not just the message that we need to communicate but also the method in which we use to communicate the gospel like you mentioned it's it's a slower process is a relational process in the process where people need to see your life on a day-to-day basis in order to make that decision to follow Jesus the server excited about this conversation forward to continuing after the break. 320 generation really is with us will be right. Attention all Christians who believe that America needs spiritual revival awakening a message of the gospel for our times this is Alex McFarland encouraging you to attend the 2018 addition of truth for new generation fee conference on apologetics worldview and evidence for the Christian faith, Greensboro, North Carolina, March 23 and 24th hear an amazing lineup that includes Josh McDowell apologist Jay Warner Wallace, Lorne Greene and Todd Starnes both from Fox News. Christ makes the difference.

Our country is falling apart, political unrest, social upheaval, the breakdown of the family.

The rise of atheism.

The rise of Islam are religious freedoms are under attack. There's gender fluidity gender identity is making the mass of freedom of expression. So we need to put some skin in the game and love this nation.

As Christians we are to stand strong. There has to be some personal investment in the living out in the preservation of their stance on American thinking face help you become a champion champion for Christ stance on American Jason Jimenez and I lay out the facts about our nation.

The current condition and how you yes you will. Family community can be involved in seeking this great Republic stance on America as a guide for encouraging every Christian and program you were talking about world missions with Jonathan Dalby missionary Cypress and Dylan Burroughs, Alex McFarland, your Jonathan before get too much water. I don't want to forget this, but how may people communicate with you if someone wants to reach out to you work, how can people pray with you follow what you're doing or asking my wife that I would do a quarterly newsletter that people could write me at my email address and request that they be added to that email address is Jonathan Dalby 18 yahoo.com so anyhow anyone is interested to write this request to be added to the newsletter. Dalby still deal you be correct yes sir Jonathan down one@yahoo.com. Let's talk about salvation. The specifics, compare, contrast the Christian message of forgiveness and salvation with what the Muslims you minister to belief is completely different play are salvation is one that I learned the free gift of God. It's just because of the grace of God to save effeminate to get this this wonderful gift of eternal life, but further from the Muslim. I think the saddest part about it is that there is an uncertainty that there is there really is a hopelessness and we talk about, hoping they'll have any assurance that you ever they have attained or reached enough good deeds to be rewarded with eternal life in paradise. When I die. There's always there's always a uncertainty that striving to please God to earn his favor and his love and so back. Quite an interesting dynamic. Practically, was played out because in real life.

You see people doing good deeds you see them striving for the same as kind and generous and compassionate but it's all you always have to understand it as you see it through the filter of all it is not really motivated by love motivated because they want to attain eternal eternal life in paradise.

Please allot word for us obviously were were loving the world because Christ is already loved us, and so it is kind of the reverse. There let me ask you this, and in seven were out of time. What a joy to have you on my friend but we talk about missions we talk about going to the uttermost parts of the earth will you and your family have done that what you say to people out there that are feeling a stirring in their heart and they are thinking while unit how can I be involved in Christ's great commission on the just give us a challenge. All us here. I would probably say to people whether they be young, you know what I was 19 or older. 79. You know, I don't think it matters your your agent or your life experience or your qualifications biblically.

We don't see that as a mandate for God to use any person in a powerful way to reach people. I would encourage anyone who has a heart for for missions you don't let anyone tell you that you can't or you should if God is calling you to do it see quiet counsel and follow his call and do it because God used.

We all know he's 12 fishermen 12 men determine to turn the world upside down as are told in acts so there's a something meeting. I'm so thankful for the people.

The guys around me in the early stage of my life so called encouragement could never said you can't. You shouldn't need to get more education just to follow the spirit leave in your life and really like this guy is a limit what I can do to a person's life is simply faithfully yielded to the leading of the Spirit, and I think asking is this.

We always want to be connected to the Holy Spirit when he says go you you go so that when I get my encouragement Alex killed yourself in the Holy Spirit and go when he says go very well soon. I wanted to jump in here and not just encourage you and encourage your listeners as well. You first Timothy 412 is very clear. Do not let anyone look down on you because you're young, but set an example for the believers of those you out there listening and maybe younger.

Wondering about God's call in your life. Don't let anyone look down on you because you're young, just like Johnson's talking about see God's will seek God's wisdom. Perhaps he has a calling for you in a similar way to minister to people in another part of the world to bring the gospel to a new group of individuals who are looking for eternal life, and I know Alex. He had a powerful story want to wrap up with here as we close out our time today. Well thanks Dylan and thanks Jonathan, you know, in Hawaii they had a false alarm where they thought a nuclear missile was coming to hit the Hawaiian Islands from North Korea. Unfortunately, thank the Lord. It was a false alarm, but apparently Walker hit a button then the word went out. This is not a drill. And I was reading in the news and I was hearing some testimonies from people that knew people all over people were beginning to do business with God they thought they had 38 minutes to live in in 38 minutes they were going to be dead and suit people and airports were crying out to God. People work. Some people were sharing the gospel and you know Jonathan said that the Muslim people in Cyprus.

They are thinking about their solar thinking about eternity. Many of them just need to be shown how to find Jesus and Dylan as we wrap up. I mean II think about that.

I suspect more people are walking around thinking about the state of their soul, then we might realize. And it takes an emergency like the thought of death or ballistic missile to you know cause people to really finally stop procrastinating and do business with God.

But the fact is we are all going to die where we are all going to leave this world one day we found Christ need to help those who need Christ and that is our daily.

Not only are our calling our mandate.

It's really our privileges and it really is. And as we concluded, I want to leave our listeners with that thought that what if today was your final day. What if you only had 30 minutes to live. Are you prepared to meet God and the afterlife are you satisfied that we need him. He will say well done good and faithful servant. Well, perhaps today's the day you need to evaluate and prepare your self in a special way. As we look forward to that final day's face-to-face.
